Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : As Usual

In Azerdia City

Niven Hale sat quietly in the lecture hall, his eyes drifting over the notes on his tablet. Life at Azerdia University had become routine—classes, experiments, and the endless hum of the city beyond the campus walls.

"Ugh… I'm so exhausted today" he muttered under his breath, rubbing his temples as the professor droned on about quantum energy fields.

After lectures, he trudged back to his small, solitary boarding room. The room was modest—just a bed, a desk, and a few scattered gadgets he tinkered with during his free time. Still, it was his own little sanctuary amidst the chaos of Azerdia.

Even in the mundane rhythm of his days, a faint pulse lingered beneath the surface, a constant reminder of the experiments he had conducted on himself. In a city that never slept, even the ordinary seemed tinged with something extraordinary.

"My monthly allowance's almost used up… and it's only the start of the month." Niven sighed.

Working part-time as a food courier wasn't exactly glamorous, but it was the only way he could make ends meet while juggling classes and experiments. The streets of Azerdia were always busy, and dodging hovercars and pedestrians had become just another part of his daily routine.

Being an only child, Niven Hale had grown up under the shadow of his father, Lorn, a renowned researcher who had suddenly vanished—whether he was dead or had simply disappeared, no one knew.

Because his father had worked under the government's supervision, Niven received a scholarship to Azerdia University, along with a recommendation to pursue a field that would continue his father's research legacy.

"Will miracles come from now on?"
