Xavier and Noire stood at the rooftop of a building before the big store. They watched as the horde of orges swarmed the land and killing what surrounded the store before raiding inside.
"It is expected, that much light and noise would surely attracts the monsters."
"The sky is busy too, I doubt we would not get anything from that almost wrecked store." As she said that, the sky echoed as the large winged wyverns flapped their wings mighty, sending strong gust to the ground that even the two needed to shelter below the rooftop to not send flying.
There are three wyverns there and it didn't took long enough for them to completely mess the store, destroying the 3rd floor their weight alone, not to mention their strong and large wings.
The orges was too focused on the hunt for the survivors and other human who kept resisting them with weapons and spell that they missed the two in the building.
Hours passed, the horde finally subdued with no survivors on ground, at the surroundings, and even the path where the horde came from which is surprisingly where the apartment of the two is and further.
"We're lucky enough not to stay there tonight. I bet those homeless survivors freely living there is gone by now."
"We gained the landlord title for free, isn't that fun." Noire remarked before the two secured the surroundings and left the current building.
For the past hours, they secured that all monsters who went inside the building already left, but not all as they would dock for cover every time some monsters glanced to their direction.
The two explored inside. There are marks of war here, various section are left in ruins, very much same for the 3rd floor where is the entrance is difficult to enter. The only proper lootable place is the 2nd floor where most section are mainly electronics, hardware materials, and home equipment.
There is nothing much for the two, aside from some hardware materials for strengthening the foundation of the apartment if they decided to stay stacked inside a cart. Another cart was used what's left and still edible in the ground floor.
"This wouldn't last for a week for the two of us." Xavier put the last red steak that was half frozen in a freezer. They pulled at least a week worth of livestock, vegetables, and clean water and other drinks.
The two didn't stay there any longer, they quickly left the building and under the moonlight, they travelled back to the house.
Minutes passed and the two arrived at the apartment and as expected, there is no survivors here. Corpses scattered everywhere from roads to the hallways. The two was about to climb up when four orges showed themselves outside.
"Survivors! Kill!"
They charged forward, shield forward. The two was inside the building and the entrance can occupy two persons given that their size was average.
Two barged in, Noire bent her body and unsheathed the katana, cleanly slicing off the neck of the nearest orge from her, barely missing the swing of the sword held by the latter. Xavier on the other hand, used his feet to knocked the lined up two orges to their shield onto the ground before slicing off the killed orge earlier lined up body in the neck.
As the fallen orges was about to stand up, Noire leaped forward and sliced the front orge to the neck and Xavier followed with another strike straight to the head of the killed orge, piercing it and killing the orge in the bottom ground.

The two didn't manage to level up as they needed more experience.
"Let's display them outside in stakes, some ogres will eventually look for them considering their intellect."
The two used their strength to move the four orges outside, piercing their bodies in the front of the store, in the built in fence their meant for parking lot.
The two made their way upstairs just after locking the main entrance of the apartment. They left the bloody corpse of human inside since it was too late and the two is already tired, thus they entered their home with a tired body.
They pushed the cart carelessly and immediately went to the bed. Half through sleep, Xavier decided to stay up late to guard and half the night later, Noire did the same.

Eleanor slept half awake earlier after her shift ended. Daniel slept like a rock during the entire time of his rest that Eleanor kicked him in his fat abdomen just to force him to wake up. The two stayed temporarily near the divided side of the small forest and the urban area in the east.
They wanted to walk more but had to hide from a large horde that passed by the east into the south, from the east.
"It would be a problem if the horde of the orges built their base in the eastern train subway, we must continue east and find some suitable place to stay temporarily then find another near the train subway."
"Why not go straight to the train subway and find a place there?" Daniel questioned.
"Because the two we're looking for lives in an apartment and the east side is full of them. If we're lucky to find them, then there is no need to explore the subway."
"What if the-"
"Just shup up, can you."
Daniel didn't spoke another word. He just finished to wash himself in the bathroom and Eleanor went next. Luckily, the house they stayed in has some food in the fridge. Thus they didn't got hungry on the night as well as in morning.
Yesterday night, the two killed the group of five players and Eleanor killed three of them and the experience is enough for her to level up to 7. Upgrading her 1st skill to masteral and the other on to level 1.
Early in the morning when they set out again. The horde of monsters earlier that night had caused lots of corpse of human to scatter around the roads and building. The road was now mostly covered in blood as corpse laid around.
They used some alleys to pass some patrolling orges around.
They stopped as they saw four corpses of orgres pierced in a fence infront of store and apartment building.
Eleanor suddenly remembered the two and immediately said;
"It's the couple we're looking for."
"That orges?"

Xavier and Noire just finished breakfast when they went at the apartment south side, in the open balcony in the hallways and heard the commotion outside. It was Eleanor kicking someone fat in the butt.
The two below saw them.
"It seems that I will no wait in the train subway?"
"Seems so." Xavier responded as he gesture inside. "Go in, this is my apartment, oh, don't mind the corpses."
Daniel and Eleanor walked their ways upstairs, pinching their nose to avoid the smell of the rotting flesh.
When they met the two, Noire immediately scanned the fat guy.
"Who's this pig you brought?"
"M-my name's Daniel." He responded, taking the insult into vein as he was used to it.
The two might like a psychopath couple but they are no bully, even now. They didn't discriminate by appearance or status but by power. Xavier also scanned him and extended his arm.
"Xavier... This is Noire." As Daniel shook his hand, Noire beside him, eyed the latter up, not expecting to have interest to this fat guy called Daniel.
Xavier and Noire were really alike. They would be cold to others, but to someone they had interest with and will benefit them, then their attitude will quickly changed like a metamorphosis.
"I met him in the forest after saving me, I vouch for his archery skills though his level is only at 3 right now."
"That's not going to be a problem in this apocalyptic world. We're actually planning on slowly farming the orgres here and there. That is why we placed some design outside the apartment." Xavier pointed next door.
"Settle there and remove the corpse inside, then come to the room after, we will hold small meeting."
With that, the two pairs made their way to each room. Daniel used his enhanced strength to toss the three corpse inside and was ordered again to clean the mess in the room by Eleanor.
Sigh, in both times, I'm still me trapped inside.
Xavier and Noire on the other hand, divided their time to clean their home as well as stock the food and materials properly as they were left earlier night. There is no power thus there is no freezer to use and the two didn'y came back with a generator as it was too loud, instead bought a solar panel back with some batteries.
After Daniel finished his task and washing himself from mess, he followed Eleanor to the other room next door and saw the two sitting in the kitchen where a table of two.
"You both can just stand up there, this will be fast." Noire pointed at the ground infront of them.
"Aight, for now, let's place the solar panels in the roof, there is enough for the one fourth of the roof and we'll take another travel to get some back which is our second task. Besides that, we'll not avoid monsters we could take on."
"As for the strategy, the two of you would be in a different group that will take smaller horde of monsters while we take the large group. Until you two became sync to each other well, then we'll start to sync with the two of you."
"I don't want some weights to the group or I'll kill the two of you." Noire added.
