A fan fiction based on The King's Avatar (Quánzhí Gāoshǒu). #No-Harem #VideoGames [Disclaimer]: I do not own any of the original characters, settings, or concepts from The King’s Avatar. All rights belong to the original creators. This is a work of fan fiction made purely for entertainment purposes. Synopsis: Tang Rou has a younger twin brother named Tang Ron. Ron was a quiet child. Although he rarely spoke, he was considered exceptionally talented in almost everything he did. He excelled in martial arts and playing musical instruments, earning many admirers and high expectations for his future. But one day, he suddenly disappeared, leaving his fans—and especially his sister—heartbroken. Tang Rou was also a genius when it came to music, possessing a unique trait: the more difficult something was, the more it excited her to conquer it. She overcame many challenges and mastered complex pieces, yet she could never surpass the shadow left by her younger brother. His accomplishments always outshone hers, so she lived with the goal of exceeding him one day. When he suddenly vanished, she was the one who suffered the most. No one knew why Ron left. Their mother, who doted on him deeply, allowed him to do as he pleased as long as he visited home from time to time. Though he occasionally returned, the twins never met. Tang Rou began to think he was avoiding her—perhaps because she had always been chasing after him, despite being the older of the two. Over time, Tang Rou lost her purpose and passion. Eventually, she decided to quit and follow in her brother’s footsteps, setting out to explore what the world had to offer. One day, she stumbled upon a small internet café and decided to work there—unaware that this place would soon play a crucial role in changing her life.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Click, click, click, tap tap...

Her sword-like, beautiful, thin eyebrows furrowed as her two nimble hands fluttered across the keyboard and mouse like an uncontrollable storm.

Being in a desperate situation, she tried every possible means to move the character in a way to potentially turn the tables around; however, it was futile resistance.

"GLORY!"

A form of thin blood was drawn on the screen after the male avatar performed a stabbing spear using a skill called "Dragon Tooth," ending her life after giving her a one-sided beating.

"One more match!" Tang Rou shouted. She's about to put another 100 yuan for a bet but paused. Staring at the empty wallet, her beautiful hands clutch it. Little Tang couldn't go for another round since she doesn't have any money left.

"Finally run out of money? Haha," Ye Xiu said. He was Tang Rou's opponent and the cause of this commotion. He's been killing her mercilessly for many rounds.

*This guy is waiting until I run out of money?*

Seeing him mock her, Tang Rou's fighting spirit ignited more. "Then, wait for me to get more!" She said and left.

"Wait, little tang!" Chen Guo, the Internet cafe owner, chases after her. She knows Tang Rou's personality well after working with her for almost 2 years. Tang Rou wouldn't stop until she had successfully beaten Ye Xiu in a match.

But the possibility of that happening was slim. The difference in their skills was clear. Tang Rou was like a toddler going in a boxing match against prime Mike Tyson (Ye Xiu).

Although retired, Ye Xiu was still a number one expert in Glory who has been called Glory's Textbook. A person who knows the insides and outsides of the game. On the other hand, Tang Rou was just a random noob who had good hand speed.

Still, she has a tendency to go against difficult situations; the harder the challenge, the more she's determined to overcome it. Knowing she wouldn't stand a chance, she's more eager to try, regardless of the outcome.

"What reckless behavior!" That's all he thought, upon seeing the situation.

Guo Guo, a good friend of Tang Rou, knows her trait well. If she let her keep this up, Tang Rou might lose all of her savings. She must be stopped at all costs.

Watching her leave, Ye Xiu sighed in relief. To be honest, he wasn't really after her money. Taking money from someone who doesn't even know how to play Glory? If this is let out, as a former professional and God of Glory. He would become a laughingstock and embarrassment.

"Finally... It's over..." Once again he sighed. Ye Xiu plans to log out and head to the smoking area to play.

As for his winnings? He will return his earnings to little Tang later when she returns. "For now, I should head to the smoking area," he mumbled, but before Ye Xiu could log out, someone interrupted his gesture.

"Wait a minute, mister..." he said.

A slender and beautiful hand hovers over his Glory Card device, intercepting his hand, which is touching the card. The sudden movement was caught in his peripheral vision; as someone with sharp eyesight, Ye Xiu wouldn't miss such a deliberate move.

He turned his head and met a boy with messy bob-cut brown hair. He was wearing a black tracksuit outlined with red similar to that of eSports and a white cap covering his face, only showing his pinkish lips and chin.

"...Do you need something?" Ye Xiu asked politely.

The boy's lips display a faint smile, and he picked up his pocket, and his beautiful hands show him a Glory account card.

"How about fighting me instead? I wouldn't take much of your time since I'm only asking for a single round. As for the bet, let me think... Let it be the same as that woman: 100 yuan," he said while poking at his cheek.

This speaker was none other than Tang Ron. Ron witnessed the events that happened from beginning to end.

Upon arriving at the cafe, what caught his attention was Chen Guo's shouting, telling Tang Rou about the skills and giving her commands. He was curious to see what the commotion was and got impressed by Ye Xiu's impeccable mechanics and control. Although Tang Rou's hand speed was incredible for many, he considered it mediocre; his attention was solely focused on Ye Xiu.

They said it takes an expert to recognize one. Ron decided he wanted to compare notes with Ye Xiu. As for his sister Tang Rou, it's been so long since he last saw her. Ron didn't even recognize her in the slightest; in fact, he might have forgotten he had a sister. If Tang Rou heard his thought, she would be heartbroken.

As for whether Ye Xiu would accept or not? That depends on him. Ron showed him a first-generation card, similar to what Ye Xiu had in hand. If he is truly some expert, then he would know the meaning behind his action.

Of course, Ye Xiu did notice the first-generation card. Although he was slightly tired, his interest was piqued. Besides, he would get another 100 yuan. Who would refuse free money?

"Sure, I will create a fixed-field room," he said with a smile.

"Okay. I will register for the computer first," Ron said and left.

Once he was done, he came back from the counter to ask Ye Xiu for the room number and password. When everything was settled, he headed to the second floor, an area for VIPs to play.

Ye Xiu waited while checking his character, Lord Grim. He was still standing in the arena when he heard a notification that someone had finally joined the room.

"He is here…" Ye Xiu didn't start the match but instead scouted his opponent first.

"A blank name?" He was momentarily in a daze. He knows that in the gamer community each has different tastes, but they can only be separated into three: cultured, uncultured, and eccentric. Those cultured individuals always pay attention to their names, making them relevant and meaningful, like his One Autumn Leaf and Lord Grim, although he didn't name them. While his name sounds cultured, others just choose randomly or didn't think much about their names. On the other hand, eccentrics have a different naming sense. They were neither cultured nor uncultured; it's like a random name that has meaning, but only guys like them relate.

This is one of the examples; names were often used to be remembered and distinguish one from many. So it leaves a deep impression, although a blank seems odd. It has a similar effect but is remembered as something they can easily forget?

"I'm ready…" Ye Xiu heard another notification coming from Ron. "I'm ready," he said in the chat box.

"What about the map?" Ye Xiu asked.

"Random," Ron said.

"Okay…" Ye Xiu replied.

Without further ado, Ye Xiu started the game. The random map was set; it's the smallest open-area map. In this map there's only sea and blue sky with clouds. There's no hiding place, just an open area, which makes things difficult for Ron.

The match started, but the two of them didn't attack immediately. Ye Xiu looked at his opponent's character. Ron was using an assassin, but without a piece of equipment in the body—yes, it's fully naked. Other than the assassin's dagger and hooded cloak, which hides his face, there's no equipment.

"What is this…?"
