The Adventures of an Ordinary Student
Luka Alves was born and raised in the countryside of Brazil, in an ordinary family — not poor, not rich, just living a simple life. During his years growing up, Luka developed a deep affection for pop culture — from anime to Marvel, from comics to manga, and more. Among all, his favorite animes were Naruto and Dragon Ball. Likewise, his favorite superheroes were the unmatched Spider-Man and Batman. Of course, he liked others too, but these two were his all-time favorites.
By the age of fifteen, Luka had developed a great obsession with these worlds. Still, nothing in his real life had truly changed — he remained a good student, great at online games, and had recently started going to the gym with a friend. Unfortunately, that ordinary life didn't last long. One day, he woke up feeling sick and soon discovered that he had advanced stomach cancer, with only a week left to live.
Instead of falling into despair, Luka decided to live fully — he laughed, loved, learned, and fulfilled all the things he had ever dreamed of doing. His final wish was to spend his last days in peace with his family — his brother, mother, stepfather, and grandmother, who lived with them. Sadly, Luka passed away peacefully, as he had wished.
Suddenly, he opened his eyes and found himself in a white room. Then, he heard a beautiful yet powerful voice say,
"My son, it was not your time to die. I am sorry for the mistakes of my angels."
Luka, confused but brave, asked,
"Who are you, oh wandering voice?"
The voice chuckled softly and replied,
"I am everything and nothing. I created you and all other beings. You know me as your Father and Creator — God."
Luka was shocked by this revelation but still managed to ask,
"Then, Father, what will happen to me now? Will I go to heaven or hell?"
God replied,
"My son, it truly wasn't your time to go. You were meant to discover your illness much earlier and live a normal life — maybe even become a famous writer, who knows? Haha! But since this was my mistake, I want to make it right. I shall give you a chance to be reborn in a universe of your choice, with powers of your choosing. One note, my son — it will be a mixed world, meaning you might find yourself in both the Marvel and DC universes. Makes things more interesting, doesn't it?"
Luka, trying to process what God had said, asked,
"Father, am I really worthy of such a gift, such a great reward from You?"
God smiled and replied,
"My son, I've understood you since the day you were born. I know that you are the best choice. I've watched humanity for ages — so many blame me for their own mistakes, and that pains me. But you were different. Even when you complained, you still tried to improve your life and the lives of your family. You are one of my children who would bring peace to the world. As a writer, your stories would guide others to the right path through your own experiences. That's why I chose you, my son."
Overwhelmed with emotion, Luka broke down in tears — tears of joy, knowing that someone truly understood him — and that someone was God Himself.
"Since You've chosen me, Father, I accept this challenge and this new opportunity," Luka said.
God smiled again and asked,
"Then tell me, my son — what are your wishes, and which universe do you choose?"
Luka thought for a moment and answered,
"I wish to reincarnate in the Marvel universe, with some elements from DC — preferably the movie versions. My desired powers are: a template system, manipulation of water, fire, and lightning, psychic abilities, super regeneration, and chakra/Ki control."
God laughed softly and said,
"Excellent choices, my son — I'd probably choose the same myself! Haha! But I must warn you, your powers will start at their base level, meaning you'll have to train to unlock their full potential. Also, I've decided to enhance your template system. Originally, it would only let you assimilate characters, but now it will also display your stats, generate missions, give rewards, and even include a gacha system. I know you played those little gambling games sometimes — yes, I saw you on the 'tigrinho' app! Haha!"
Luka was shocked but accepted happily — after all, it's not every day you get such a chance.
"Thank You, Father," he said.
"Go and live your adventure, Luka," God said with a smile.
Then, Luka vanished in light. God chuckled to Himself, wondering whether He should've told Luka that he'd reincarnate in his own body from another universe — but He decided against it.
"It'll be more fun this way," He said with a grin.
And thus begins the story of our new hero, Luka.
