"Interesting."
"Very interesting."
I nodded my head after properly sorting through a variety of information. Here I was, in a new body and in a new world, which I couldn't fathom at first, but with novels from my Earth being riddled with so many "transmigration what if" scenarios, this wasn't all that overwhelming. What was overwhelming was that this world operated a whole lot differently than what I had read in the original source: "The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten."
Starting from the top, high school started at 18!
An absolutely amazing detail for me!
This way, if Mahiru and I did end up together, I wouldn't feel disgusting because she wouldn't be 15 or 16. I forgot her original age, but either way, high school starting at 18 was great!
Secondly-if it wasn't already noticed-I have a system!
[Host. This world is a mash-up world, so there will be other characters...]
'...'
Scratch my first reason — most of the characters that I knew would be older and perfectly fine for me to date! In Japan, the age of consent was different, so even if I did date anyone or have any special nights, it wouldn't matter legally. But legally and morally were two different things, weren't they? So, me coming from a place where the age of consent was 18, and me originally being 21—uh, I'm sure the problem shows itself.
A 21-year-old dating a 15/16-year-old?
Disgusting.
Seriously disgusting.
Anyway, back to my system. It called itself the "Passive Growth System," and like its name implies, I can receive passive growth for attributes/skills that meet the conditions. As for the conditions...
[Skill/attribute must reach Level 2 (Novice/Below-average)]
[Skill/Attribute Board:
- Level 1 (Initial Awakening)/ 10 (completely unfit)
- Level 2 Novice/ 25 (Below-Average)
- Level 3 Basic/ 50 (Average)
- Level 4 Advanced/ 75 (Above-average)
- Level 5: Master/ 100 (Peak)
- ???-

Aside from the strange question marks, everything made sense to me. The left side was used for skill rankings while the right for stat attributes. Since skills were self-explanatory, I'll focus on attributes.
Attributes meant the Eight basic Stats: Strength, Endurance, Agility, Dexterity, Vitality, Intelligence, Charm, and Luck.
My current status looked like this.
[Amane Fujimiya/Fujimiya Amane]
- Age 18:
- Level 1 (available slots: 1)
- Condition: Healthy/slightly confused
- Assets: Nill
+ Strength: 25
+ Endurance: 19
+ Agility: 15
+ Dexterity: 10
+ Vitality: 50 (average)
+ Intelligence: 60
+ Charm: 45
+ Luck: 50 (Average)

As for skills, I didn't have any yet, but there were three stats that I could get passive growth for. I would just focus on one of them. Another thing about this system was that every five levels, I would get an additional "Growth" slot, which meant that until I got more, I could only focus on a certain amount. So, at this moment, I could only focus on one.
'What should I do?'
My hands were tied between Luck and Vitality. Both were good—because who didn't like to be healthy, but who also didn't like to be lucky?
It was either health or luck.
'I can't really improve luck normally, but I can work out.'
I thought as I got up from the couch and headed towards the shower. Tomorrow would officially be the first day of school, so I couldn't afford to be late. The high school was Soubu High—a very familiar-sounding name, but I couldn't put my finger on where I had heard it before. It was probably from some novel or anime, but I guess it wasn't all that important in actuality.
[Luck will now receive passive growth!]
[Every hour, receive +0.01 Luck]
'Jeez, so little.' My eyes twitched at the small amount, but let's not forget that I had no right to really complain. Nobody else could increase their luck even a fraction of what I was getting. Even if they somehow managed to through whatever bullshit, it wouldn't even be permanent.
As I got into the bathroom, I glanced at the mirror to see my new self staring back. Black hair that hung naturally, and equally black eyes that had a new light to them. The Amane back when the novel started was bland and very boring, so it was no wonder why the eyes now felt unnatural—besides the color. My original eye color was blue, and now here we are, with the color of the void.
"Hey, system."
[Yes?]
"Since today—or rather, since I've been here for only an hour and only have four hours left in the day—will I get a bonus? Not really fair to only give me a little under a quarter of a day..."
Was I being greedy?
"Phew~ Phew~" <- (whistling XD)
If pressed, I don't know what anybody could be talking about.
[...Sure.]
"Yes!"
I pumped my fist in the air and started my bath! If you don't ask, you shall not receive as they as say.
