It was late at night, and the night sky was a beautiful, dark blue, with bright stars shining as if waiting for someone to appear. Almost everyone was at home, sleeping or spending time with their family. The people who were out and about were either partying late at night with friends or had no home to go to, so they slept on the floor. But there stood two people watching over the city; they were known as heroes. They were ladybug and chat noir. They stood on top of a building. "You know we can dance while we wait," Chat says as he dances the square dance alone, wiggling his eyebrows.
Ladybug rolls her eyes as she smiles, "I told you no," she responds in a playful tone. "Suit yourself then," He replies as he continues to dance alone, but all of a sudden, they hear a heart-wrenching scream that sounds a few blocks away. They immediately run to go and help.
A few blocks away
A short girl was walking late at night in the city of Paris. She has mid-length hair that is as black as a raven's feather. She was wearing a long black shirt with a white button-up shirt. She pushes her glasses up with her free hand that's not carrying her science books. As she walked home, she didn't notice the man who started to follow her, but a certain someone on a rooftop did, and she started to follow. The girl with glasses, paid little attention to her surroundings, only thinking about getting home. As she was about to pass an alleyway, the man grabbed her and dragged her into the alleyway.
She attempts to scream, but he punches her in the gut. She falls to the ground, tears falling as she holds her stomach. She begins to tremble, trying to catch her breath but unable to; it feels as if her throat is closed up. She bites her lip as she tries to get up, The man then kicks her in the stomach. His face was covered, but his eyes gleamed with pride and joy. The girl curls up into a ball, hoping he would just rob her and leave. The man bends down and reaches into her pocket, looking for her wallet.
He has her wallet and purse in one hand. She looks at him with wide eyes as he points a mini gun at her, aiming for her head. The girl's life begins to flash before her eyes. To a very recent memory of mother and father telling her how much they love her and what a bright future she has. Her brother, who needed help with his biology work. "If I had known this was going to be my last day, I wish I could've hugged and told my family how much I love them." That was all she could think as she clawed at her throat to breathe.
As the man began to pull the trigger, a double-bladed sword sliced the hand that was holding the gun. A shadow leaped down as his hand fell to the ground. The figure picked the girl up and jumped on top of a building. The man immediately fell to his knees and screamed. He clenches his hand to his chest. The girl held on tightly to the figure that had saved her.
The girl finally catches her breath and screams her heart out as tears fall. The shadowed figure drops her when she screams out of nowhere. The girl almost hits the ground, till a polka dot-themed hero's yoyo wraps around the girl and pulls her towards her. She holds the girl tightly, and she then glares at the shadowed figure who wears a mask that looks like a lynx. Her hair was a grayish color, with black circles and white tips. Her skirt was a diamond shape, she wore a scarf, and fur boots.
Chat noir lunges at her with his staff, coming down to hit her. She quickly raises her arm to shield her face from the attack. Ladybug leaves with the girl, who is still screaming, but it sounds as if she has been dehydrated for days. Ladybug lands on a building's top as she lays the girl down gently. "Don't worry, we'll take care of that akuma." Ladybug tries to calm her down and reassure her, but that does little good.
The girl slowly stops screaming, she then tries to say something, but is unable to. Ladybug then pulls her yoyo out and yells, "Lucky charm." The girl starts to claw at her neck again, which is already reddened from the last time. She desperately tries to say something, but is unable to because of how much she screamed. Ladybug catches a rifle, the girl looks at it with wide eyes, becoming more worried, trying to get up or say something, but she fails miserably.
Chat continues to strike at the lynx-themed hero, "So are you going to say what you want, Akuma?" He sneers at her. The girl raises her arms, waving them in a precise manner, but he has no idea what she's doing as he goes to strike her. She grabs him and throws him down the building to where that man is slowly starting to quiet down, but still holds his chopped arm. Chat Noir looks at him with horror and fear. He looked at the ground, he had fallen into the man's blood. Chat immediately rushes to the man who has lost probably a gallon of blood.
He grabs the man and rushes him to the hospital. As he does so, the lynx-themed hero walks calmly to her double-bladed sword. She bends down to grab her sword, and a bullet flies right past her, barely grazing her arm. She looks in the direction from which the bullet came. To see a trembling ladybug who looks as if she weren't expecting an actual bullet to be shot out. "GO TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL CHAT," The red-themed hero yelled out. Chat nods and rushes to leave so he can come back as quickly as possible.
Ladybug looks at the man's hand that holds a gun, now lying in a puddle of its own blood. She feels as if she wants to throw up at the sight. She clutches the rifle to her chest, having never used one before. She looks at the lynx-themed girl who stands there calmly, not having said a word or even a sound once! And that just makes her more anxious.
The lynx-themed girl's weapon turns into a staff. The Ladybug looks for anything that she's supposed to use on the weapon, but comes up empty-handed. The other super then taps two times on the concrete with the bottom of the staff and once at the tip of her staff. Ladybug looks at her with confusion, not waiting to shoot her unless necessary. Immediately after the last tap, their surroundings become a forest. Ladybug falls, but then pulls out her yo-yo and wraps it around a tree branch. Mid-swing, the lynx-themed girl hits her in the stomach. Ladybug falls to the ground and lets go of the gun.
Ladybug groans as she tries to grab her rifle again, fearing that this will be her end, that Hawk Moth has won. The lynx-themed girl walked up to the rifle and picked it up, as she put her staff on her back. After the girl is done examining the rifle, she throws it further away out of reach for either of them. The girl is now in front of Ladybug, squats down. Ladybug uses this moment to attack her. The red hero attempts to punch her, but the other girl easily catches it.
She grabs the girl like a rag doll and throws her into a tree. Ladybug is slammed into the tree and loses her breath as she falls to the ground. The lynx-themed girl pulls her staff out and taps the bottom of it once, and then taps the edge of the staff on the ground. After the last tap, the forest starts to disappear, and the town starts to show again. Ladybug is lying on the floor as she tries to catch her breath.
The lynx-themed girl jumps up onto the building. She's about to leave when she hears the girl who was attacked in the alley crying. She rushed to the girl. She saw the girl hugging herself, either to calm herself or to shield herself from the cold. The lynx-themed girl takes off her scarf and goes over to the girl and wraps her in it. The girl flinches, but lets the super wrap her with the scarf. "Thank you," The girl with glasses says in a rough, quiet tone, probably because of her yelling.
The lynx-themed girl nods, "What's your name?" the girl with glasses asks as she looks the other girl in the eyes. The girl begins to move her hands in a precise manner that is most likely sign language. "I'm sorry, I don't know any sign language," She replies as she looks at the ground and bites her lip. The other girl waves her hand in an okay manner. The girl points at the girl with glasses and then makes a triangle and then a square.
The girl with glasses tries to put together what she's trying to say, but then it finally comes to her. "Would you like to know where I live?" The girl with glasses asks her. The other girl nods. The glasses girl tells the other girl where she lives, the lynx-themed girl picks the girl with glasses up and takes her home.
When they are in front of the girl's house, the lynx-themed girl puts her on her feet. As the lynx-themed girl is about to leave, "My name is Star," She tells the lynx-themed girl. To normal people, it would barely be heard, but to Lynx, she heard it loud and clear. The girl turns and nods. She then waits for Star to go into the house. Star stared at Lynx for what felt like forever to Lynx, but for Star, it only felt like a few seconds. Till they were interrupted by the front door opening. For her to see her parents trying to rush out. They immediately stop in their tracks when they see their daughter. They rush to her and hug her tightly, which causes her to wince in pain. "Where were you?" her father asks her in a worried tone. "We knew something had happened to you." Her mother follows up as she looks at her clothes, which have tiny spots of blood and dirt all over them. She tries her best to hold her tears in, but as her parents continue to ask her for answers. She hugs them back tightly, not caring how much it hurts her as she bawls.
Her parents take her into their house, wanting to have her sit down and talk as they comfort her. Lynx stands a few feet away, watching the scene play out as she did; she couldn't help but feel a little jealous. "Must be nice," Lynx thinks to herself. She then turns and leaves.
Back to ladybug
After a few minutes of lying on the floor, she sits up. She groans as she stands up. Chat Noir is finally back, and he rushes to her side. "Are you alright, my lady?" He asks her as he tries to help her stand up straight. "I'm fine, Chat," She answers as she rubs her back. He looks at her with worry, "Are you sure?" He asks as he hovers by her to help her at any time.
"Yes, I'm sure," She answers in a tone that says that's final. He goes to her lucky charm and then throws it in the air and yells, "Miraculous Ladybug." Ladybug glares at him as the ladybugs fly around. "Really?" He shrugged, "I've always wanted to do that," He answered as he followed her. She sighs as she says, "Well, I enjoy i-- OH NO THE GIRL!!'' she yells out as she looks at him with wide eyes, and he looks back at her with wide eyes as well. They immediately rush to where the girl had previously been, only to find no one. "What are we going to do?" Chat asks Ladybug as he begins to chew on his nails.
Ladybug has her hand on her mouth. She looks back to where the man's hand was, hoping it was back to the original owner. Unfortunately, it was in the same place it had been left. Ladybug felt her stomach turn as she continued to look at it. Chat Noir looks away as memories of not too long ago come back to the man who owned that hand, screaming and crying. "We could split up to look for her, and then we'll contact each other if we find her." Chat Noir breaks the silence as he leaves, not wanting to look at that scene.
Ladybug nods as she goes in the opposite direction from Chat Noir. Chat Noir jumps from building to building till he stops by the Eiffel Tower. He looks at it as he runs his hand on it. "Please be alive," He whispers to himself as his ears flatten and his tail lies on the floor motionlessly. He was about to leave, but he stopped to look up. He notices something moving up there, "odd….." he takes his staff out and then shoots himself up to the first floor of the tower.
Lynx was standing on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower with a paper and a pen as she looked down at Paris. She stood there for a few hours, waiting for one of the two heroes to come and catch her. When she hears someone shooting up where she was, she looks in that direction. Chat Noir growls at her when he reaches the first floor. "Where is she?" He demands. Lynx looks at him and then starts to write down on the paper. He continues to growl and glare at her. She turns the notebook to him. "I took her home." He looks at her with confusion, but then goes back to growling and glaring at her. "Show me then," He says in a harsh tone.
Lynx writes down "Not now, she's not doing so well." and then shows him. After she wrote that down, his pupils became slits. "OF COURSE SHE ISN'T. YOU HAD JUST HURT HER," He yells at her. Lynx shakes her head and writes, "I've never hurt her, and I'm not akumatized." She turns to him. "How can I believe that?" he asks in a harsh tone. She writes down, "If I wanted your miraculous, I would've gotten it when I had fought Ladybug, and now instead of talking to you," she turns to him. She goes to sit down, Chat hesitates for a moment till he goes to stand by her. "Then why did you hurt that man?" He asked
Lynx writes down, "He tried to rob her, if you don't believe me, well that's too bad because you won't get your answers till she says so." She turns to him, "Then why did you fight us?" He says as if he's caught her in a lie. She writes down, "You attacked me first and continued even after I tried to do sign language, and she shot me, so I had to disarm her." She turned it for him to read. He sits down by her "....." It was silent for a while, Chat not daring to say anything. After a while, he finally says, "You…. You cut his hand off, why?" asks in a whisper as memories pop up in his head. Lynx writes down, "He had it coming." That was all she wrote down as she stood up, ripped the paper off, and gave it to him.
He looked at the ground. "....I understand what he did was wrong, but you should've put him in jail. Instead of….that," he squeezes his eyes shut. Lynx doesn't write anything down as she's about to leave till Chat demands. "We'll meet here daily till I get to see the girl with my own two eyes and hear her story," he glares at her. Lynx nods as she leaves. Chat sighs as he calls Ladybug, and she immediately answers her phone. "Have you found her Chat?" She asks in a worried tone. Chat sighs, "Ya, I just took her home." He lies, hoping he can trust the other girl.
He smiles. "We should call it a night, my lady". Ladybug sighs, "Did you catch the Akumatized person?" He let out a sigh, hating that he was going to lie. "No, she left the girl at a random place…. a good thing for me, though," he said, nervously chuckling. She hangs up and reluctantly goes home. He does the same; he jumps from building to building till he's home. He sneaks into his room through his window.
He de-transforms as he throws himself onto his bed, groaning. "Tonight was a nightmare," He tells Plegg. Plagg laughs, "Oh, you have no idea," He says as he floats by Adren's head. Adrien whips his head towards him. "What do you mean?!" He yells worriedly, "Well, kid, if that miraculous is here, then many more are." Plagg answers cheerfully
"Okay, and?" Adrien rolls his eyes, not in the mood. Plagg chuckles, "Welp, good night." Plagg goes to lie in his sock. Adrien groans, "Plaggggg." After a few minutes of saying Plagg's name, Adrien stops as sleep takes him over. He and Ladybug will take care of this later. In the meantime, he'll just go to bed.
