A FRESH BREATH OF AIR
"Mr Rein, your meeting with the board of directors begins in five minutes" Linda, Justin's assistant, reported with a soft smile.
Standing in his office, she felt just as small as she did the first day she reported to work. His office was especially spacious with a tall ceiling, decorated simply in boring white and black colors and simple ornaments.
But the owner of the office made it livelier, his good looks enough to make all employees —young and old, drool.
Justin Rein was everything a woman dreamed of a man. Tall and muscular with smooth caramel skin, his gorgeous face unfairly beautifully Chiseled and his background—one of the many reasons that women threw themselves at him.
Born into a family that held half the power in their country, Justin was the true definition of a golden spoon. Rich, handsome and.... unreachable.
Justin, who was seated at his desk, looked up from the document he had been reading on his desk and after a second, nodded before burying himself once again in his work.
Linda felt at a loss. She had been working for Justin for more than two years and not once had he paid her any attention. Her extremely young boss was the most serious person she had ever met, but a hard working man could only be sexier!
"Justin you piece of shit!" A tall man in casual clothes walked in with an irritated look. "Linda, please excuse us."
Linda did not need to think twice before exiting the office, a bead of sweat on her forehead.
"Do you not know how to knock?" Justin asked mildly without looking up.
"You took my car, didn't you?" He said sitting down on a sofa.
"So what if I did?" Justin looked up at him, his face expressionless.
"You know how much that meant to me!"
"Which is why I scraped it. You're welcome, Kale"
Kale raised his eyebrow and sneered, his furious gaze locked onto Justin.
"Explain" he spat.
Justin sighed and got out his seat. He poured himself a glass of water and finished it in one gulp. When he was done, he sat opposite Kale, leisurely loosening his tie.
"You're too irrational when you work, Kale. That's why you have a lot of enemies"
"I'm giving you five seconds more" kale threatened.
"Your brother hid drugs in there. Police was supposed to visit you in the afternoon for a–" Justin chuckled, "a private investigation. If they found that shit in there, you'd be–"
"Fucked" Kale sighed as he run his fingers through his hair. "You know you could've just taken the drugs out tho, right?"
"Then the cops would discover the drugs in and outside the car"
"Could've washed it" Kale mumbled.
Justin chuckled, "you're very good at saying thank you."
"I don't need to thank you, you fucked my car over!" Kale sourly complained.
"What are you going to do about your little brother?" Justin asked sternly.
"I'll just warn him, he's my brother, what can I do?" Kale chuckled.
Seeing the smile on his face, Justin knew he was lying. He shook his head and stood up to straiten his suit. "I have a meeting to attend, you can go"
Kale raised his brow and asked, "Are you kicking me out?"
"Don't you have a company to run?" Justin questioned.
Like Justin, Kale was from an extremely rich family except their power was slightly inferior to that of Justin's family and just like Justin, Kale also had to constantly fight with relatives who were determined to take control of the company.
"No. I'm just a normal salary man" Kale lay his back on the sofa, making himself especially comfortable. Seeing that, Justin rolled his eyes and walked out, not caring about his special guest. A guest that all entities would fight to dine with.

"Mr Rein, there seems to be an accident up front" Justin's driver, Theo, reported to Justin who was seated in the backseat of the limousine, his brows knitted as he typed.
He looked up, his eyes scanning the chaos on the highway. His gaze went back to the screen as he responded "Mm"
Theo glanced at his boss from the rearview mirror and sighed, knowing fully well it wouldn't end there.
"Who's responsible for my traveling?" He heard Justin ask calmly but he knew very well how 'Calm' Justin worked. He hesitated, debating on keeping his job by telling the truth or lying to save another person's job.
"I'm sure you're aware of my habits, Theo" He looked up, "Are you sure you want me to repeat myself?"
"Of course not sir!" Theo instantly disagreed. He paused before revealing the name of the person in charge of his traveling. That person was in charge of clearing the traffic along the route that Justin was supposed to take, no other cars at such times were allowed to use the route until after he had used it.
That day, whoever was in charge of doing so had clearly not done his job. Justin's expression was incredibly calm with no sign of irritation lacing his gorgeous face.
He took out his work phone and called Linda, who answered the called instantly. "Michael Tranner" he started, his tone cold yet relaxed. "Don't let him come to work anymore"
Linda, on the other side of the phone, paused, completely caught off guard. She opened her mouth to ask why but before she could, he cut the call.
Theo gulped and avoided meeting his boss's eyes. 'How is he so nonchalant when firing someone?
Theo thought.
Thinking of his 'important' meeting, Justin exited the car, leaving the already intimidated Theo buffled.
He grabbed his work phone and took long define steps ahead. Passing by the accident site that everyone on the highway failed to set their eyes on, he was not in the least fazed by the hideous site of the victim and walked passed it nonchalantly.
When he got off the highway, he found a taxi in the main road and got on. Inside were two men in the front seats and a woman who sat carelessly in the backseat, her eyes closed and her headphones plugged in.
He sat on his side and only uttered two words. "Handu street"
The driver sweetly smiled and nodded, starting the car immediately.
His gaze fell on the twinkling stars in the sky, his feelings uncertain. He looked calm and composed but only he knew how tired and fed up of life he was.
Seeing a young man, dressed in a luxurious tailored suit, sitting at the back seat of his car, the driver meaningfully smiled at the man next to him.
The speed of the car was steady, tall trees flying passed their windows. The driver purposefully used an abandoned road but Justin's expression did not change.
The further they drove, the less strength that his phone's signal had, but he did not panic. His eyes scrutinized the two men Infront and instantly located the guns hidden at their waists.
He took his phone out and when he did, he noticed that his phone's signal had completely disappeared.
A small—unnoticeable curve appeared on his lips. He switched his work phone off and folded his arms against his chest, as if waiting to see what the two men had planned to do.
Suddenly, the car came to a stop, making their bodies surge to the front.
The girl next to him grumpily rubbed her eyes when she woke up, her pout full complaint. "Uncle, are we there yet?"
The driver, whose smile had been as sweet as candy before, looked at her irritatedly. He opened the door, got out and opened her door. He pulled out the gun he had hidden and aimed at her, his gaze ferocious.
"Get out of the car!" He bellowed. The other man had already pulled open the other door and aimed his gun at Justin.
With unmistakable fear, the girl got out of the car, her knees so weak she almost fell to the ground. Justin, on the other hand, calmly got out of the car and leaned his back against the car as he again folded his arms against his chest.
"Let's rob him and leave him here, then we'll continue with our original plan."
Hearing their conversation, Justin quickly figured out what was going on. For the first time that night, his gaze on the obviously shaken girl lasted longer.
She had dark wavy hair that was tied into a bun, a few loose strands of her hair falling at the sides of her face. She looked thin and fragile, as if a little push could hurt her.
The other man pointed his gun at Justin and arrogantly demanded, "give me your wallet" his greedy eyes scanned Justin's body and they instantly shone when they saw his watch.
"That watch too, we might have to keep it safe for you" he smirked, his yellow teeth disgusting Justin.
With a frown, Justin coldly questioned. "Exactly what makes you think you can rob me?"
The man was taken aback when he heard his answer, he looked over at the driver and they both exploded into a series of laughter.
"What? Spoiled little brats have grown too pompous don't you think?" He said with a chuckle as he kept his intimidating eyes on Justin.
Justin lazily raised his eyebrow, not intimidated in the slightest. He unfolded his arms and placed them into his pants pockets.
The man, thinking that he was reaching in to take out his wallet, smiled knowingly at the driver.
"You're too arrogant. I hate it when unworthy people act arrogantly in my presence" Justin suddenly said with an obvious frown.
Before he could even look at Justin, the felt a tinge of pain in his chest, followed by two sounds of gunshots.
It all happened too fast, there he was, laying on the cold tired road, clutching his chest as he looked at his partner, who had fallen to the ground with a gunshot wound on his forehead.
He looked up at Justin in utter disbelief. In Justin's hand was a black pistol. He leaned against the car as he put away his pistol, his piercingly cold gaze on the man.
"You would have had a quick death like your partner had you not offended me." Justin commented offhandedly.
The man tried to talk but coughed up blood instead, his bloodshot eyes displaying the regret and pain that came from Justin's cruel punishment.
"They've been taken care of, go home" Justin spoke when he approached the girl that had been squatting by the car, covering her ears.
She hesitantly stood upright, her eyes cautiously scanning her surroundings. When her eyes met the dead drivers body, she stumbled backwards in shock.
"You—you killed them?" She asked, her voice extremely shakey.
"One of them, the other one's still on his way to hell." Justin cooly answered, leaving her flabbergasted.
"You killed them" She muttered more to her self than to him.
Justin impatiently checked his watch and nodded, "I know. You don't have to thank me."
He walked to the other side of the taxi in large strides and opened the car door. Just as he was about to enter, he felt her presence behind him.
"Where do you think you're going? I'm calling the police!" She nervously blurted when she saw him stop.
Justin had a sparkle of interest in his eyes and chuckled, "The police? Really?"
"You murdered two people" she pretended to be confident.
"One person," he turned around and answered, his hands in the pockets of his pants.
"What?"
"That one's still alive, unfortunately." He glanced at the direction of the driver's accomplice, who was covered in a pool of blood, his eyes shut yet his chest slightly heaving.
"Oh God!—" she gasped and run to the back door of the car to take her phone.
"You do realize these people tried to kidnap you, righ?" Justin couldn't help but say.
"Still, killing is a crime"
"So what do you plan to do?" He asked with a suppressed smirk, his interest piqued.
"I'm going to have you arrested" she said decisively.
Justin chuckled, "you don't know who you're talking to, do you?"
"Do I look like I care?"
"Touché" he smiled, his first genuine smile that day. "Don't forget to have the dead guys arrested for attempted kidnapping too"
He watched her cheeks puff up with anger and was even more amused. Justin had never paid attention to unnecessary people—women, and watching her fiery eyes stare daggers at him, he suddenly wondered if all women were like her.
She was different, definitely different from the high class, poised women he often interacted with at meetings and banquets.
She was different from most of the women he met. She had interacted with him for minutes and that 'look' still had not appeared on her face.
That 'look' that told him everything a woman thought of him, a sexy single rich business man to bed.
That 'look' of fear when they saw him, because he was the rumoured cold heir of Rein group.
But she looked at him with clear anger. She did not withhold her thoughts and spoke her mind. Unlike most people, she had the audacity to threaten him. Something that others dared not do.
Having been brought up in the superficial world of the rich, meeting someone like her was like a fresh breath of air.
Suddenly, there was a loud sound of tires screeching against the tarmac. Justin's senses kicked in and he immediately grabbed her hand and pushed her into the car before hurriedly getting in and closing the door.
A second later, there was a slight collision between their car and another car that bypassed them a little, parking a few kilometers away from them.
Before she could even process anything, Justin jumped into the front seat of the car and turned it on, reversing it so they could drive the other way.
"What the hell is—" Her question was interrupted by loud gunshot sounds hitting the car. She ducked with a gasp and covered her mouth, her eyes barely hiding her fear. Justin looked out and memorized the car's number plate before driving off, heading to a private road that belonged to an official.
