Chapter 2 - the reveal of truth

The time flew by quickly. Alica remained in the hospital for two weeks. Yoran came from time to time and spent nights, then left early in the morning for work. Finally, after staying in the hospital for a long time, they were going home.

In the car, Arion, with his mother and father, was going home. Behind their car, ten black cars were filled with bodyguards and fighters.

Finally arriving, the car stopped at the gate. The gates were pretty big, five guards were there guarding them, and the walls were at least twenty feet tall. The guard opened the gate with a remote. Cars entered inside, but ten cars with bodyguards remained at the gate. The car didn't stop for two kilometres. After crossing the gate, the house was deep inside, two kilometres from the entrance. The area was filled with greenery, big trees, fruits, flower fields, a cricket ground, a football ground, and many more places.

Alica held Arion to the window. Touching the cold, fresh air, Arion soft whimper.

Hearing his cute voice, everyone covered their faces with a hand—even the driver. Everyone had only one thought.

"Cuteee!"

The car stopped. Finally arriving, there were already people waiting for them. Everything was decorated. The house was more like a castle, painted blue and white, with crystal tiles that shined brightly. Alica stepped out of the car, holding Arion in her arms.

"WELCOME BACK!" Everyone shouted at the same time.

Alica and Arion flinched, shocking Alica, but she smiled at them, maintaining her cool again.

"We are back." She smiled.

Yoran stepped out of the car, making his way to Alica and taking her hand. He whispered in a low voice.

"Let's go."

Alica smiled at Yoran. While greeting others, they sat on chairs while the others sat in front of them.

"Thank you for coming here today, everyone, on the young master's arrival," an old butler said in a respectful tone as he stepped in front. The butler had served the royal family for a long time.

The old butler continued, "To the emperor and the empress, I pay my respects to you and the young master." He bowed his head to them.

"The royal family gave up their status to the public and gave away their land and wealth to the government for the sake of the people. Now, after a long time, they finally have an heir—the young master Arion Sendrom!"

Everyone started clapping, showing respect to them.

In the crowd, some started whispering.

"What about the young master of the second gender?" a woman said in a low voice while covering her mouth with her hand.

"Isn't it obvious? He's an alpha. No one in the family was beta… or omega."

"It's obvious, haha. Well, I was joking. There's no way the young master is an omega."

Their voices were too loud to ignore. It even reached Alica and Yoran. Hearing about Arion, they were angry, but they didn't want to let this good moment be ruined. Yoran stood up.

"Indeed, in the Sendrom family there was no omega or beta born in our entire history," Yoran said.

Hearing Yoran, those who were gossiping quickly hid their faces behind people, breaking into a sweat.

"But that was before Arion was born."

As Yoran said this, the ones who were quiet broke their silence. Everyone started talking—some were shocked and some confused.

"What is Yoran saying?" an old woman, Yoran's mother, asked, confused about what he was talking about.

"What do they mean by this?" people whispered.

"No way, right?"

"Is he saying the young master is beta?"

"Brother?…" Yon said in a low voice, narrowing his eyes.

Hearing their gossip, Alica remained calm. She thought only one thing: no matter what anyone said about their child, they would stand with him no matter what.

Yoran spoke again. Everyone's focus was on his words—this would change everything. Yoran's mother and father remained quiet, wondering if this wouldn't be that bad… right?

"But my son is a miracle… the first ever omega in the entire family history."

Everyone went quiet for a moment, processing what Yoran had just said. Alica was calm, but there was still a hint of fear on her face. The shocked faces turned into stares at Arion. Alica held Arion tightly. But there was no fear on Yoran's face—still determined, making Alica at ease knowing he was there to protect them.

"What a shame on the royal family," a woman whispered, but loud enough for everyone to hear.

Before anyone could say more, Arion's grandfather clapped loudly with a big smile.

"Indeed, this is a miracle. I can't believe it. I am truly happy, Yoran." He accepted Arion as he was.

Yoran let out a sigh of relief. Alica stood up, making her way to Yoran. She stood with him and held his hand, letting him know that she was with him.

"Even if my son is omega or alpha, he will still be our child no matter what," Alica declared.

Some of them accepted, but there were still some people who would always be bitch. No matter what, their gazes didn't change.

"I think we should call it a day. I am truly happy that you all came here to celebrate Arion's arrival," Yoran said before leaving with Alica and Arion. Everyone bowed in respect as they left.

Inside the house, it was painted blue crystal colour with diamond-looking tiles, beautiful furniture, and glowing walls. The house was really big. The servants were waiting for them, bowing their heads as they arrived inside. Behind Arion's grandparents, his uncle Yon, auntie, and their children came—Alex and Erry, around the ages of 4 and 5.

Yon took big steps, grabbing Yoran's hand to stop him.

"Brother! Why didn't you tell me about this first?" he said, thinking why his own brother hadn't told him anything.

Alica stopped and looked behind, but she didn't say anything. She knew it was between brothers and didn't need to interfere.

"Sorry, Yon, but I wanted to tell everyone at the same time. I didn't know how you would have reacted," Yoran replied.

"Still…" Yon said, but his throat didn't let anything out. He clenched his fist, then let go of Yoran's hand. "Sorry," he said, looking down.

Yoran patted his brother's head, smiling.

"Why don't we eat first?" His stomach growled, but his smile remained, playing it cool.

"Pfttt…" Yon let out a low laugh.

The gloomy mood lifted. Everyone smiled, except Yon's wife, Ruly, who kept her stare on Arion. She was upset or jealous about how everyone in the family treated Arion—even though he was an omega, considered lower in this world.

Yon's older son Alex ran to Alica. He hugged her and looked up, smiling.

"I want to see Arion," he said softly.

Alica patted Alex's head and smiled at his cuteness. She lowered herself to Alex.

"Here… cute Arion," Alica said, smiling.

Alex's face blushed as he saw Arion sleeping quietly in his mother's hands, his little crystal-blue hair glowing in the light.

"Arion is so cute," Alex said with pink cheeks. "Can I marry Arion?"

Alica placed her hand on her face slowly before saying—

"Cuteee."

And it was the same with everyone, except Ruly.

She wasn't happy. She came forward, grabbing Alex's hand and pulling him away.

"I'm sorry, Alex is still young," she said with a fake smile.

Alica stared at Ruly before standing up.

"Yeah." Alica left, leaving with Arion.

Yoran and Yon looked at them with concern in their eyes, before their father told them to go to dinner.

Ruly stared at Arion while they were leaving. She narrowed her eyes at Arion.

"That brat…" she murmured inside her head.

Arion's first day in his house ended with a little conflict, but things worked out in the end.

Following the next day, Arion was sleeping quietly in his parents' bed. The room was big with white wooden luxury furniture, blue tiles, and paintings of flowers on the walls.

Morning sun's warm light fell on his soft skin, with fresh air as the wind blew, making the long blue window curtains wave. With a soft yawn, Arion's ocean-blue eyes slowly opened, still half sleepy, but seeing his mother getting ready by the mirror woke him up completely. He waved his tiny hand, maybe wanting to see Alica.

Arion called his mother with his gentle baby voice.

His soft voice reached Alica's ear, making her mood fresh with his gentle words. She turned around and blew a flying kiss to Arion.

"My cutie, give mum one minute, okay?" she spoke, speeding up her makeup. She quickly stood up and rushed to Arion. She gently picked him up, holding him in her arms. She took a peek at Arion's forehead. In her hands, Arion was waving his hands, wanting to touch his mother's face. Even though he was just two weeks old, he was clearly more intelligent than most kids — perhaps his royal blood had something to do with it.

Alica stepped forward to a drawer and opened it. It was filled with baby clothes. She was confused about what she should pick. Finally, after thinking over and over again, she picked a green outfit and dressed Arion up.

"Cutee! No matter what you wear, you look beautiful, Arion," she smiled at him. Alica heard a knock at the door.

"Come," she commanded.

A servant opened the door. She bowed slightly before speaking.

"Your Highness, the breakfast is ready."

"Okay, I will be there," Alica commanded.

The servant bowed again before leaving. Alica, with Arion in her arms, left their room.

Outside, the hallway was filled with beautiful paintings and glowing furniture. She came to the dining room. The dining room was big with warm lights. The table was filled with countless different dishes while servants were serving those who were already there.

Arion's grandparents, Ruly, and her two children Alex and Erry were present. Alica took her seat away from the others. She sat gracefully.

Seeing Alica, Ruly's face burned up in jealousy. But she didn't show it on her face. She offered a fake smile to Alica.

"You should give Arion to someone while eating, haha. You don't have experience with children, so it must be hard." She sounded polite, but her words gave it away.

Arion's grandmother looked up. She knew how Ruly was, but she didn't say anything — or she didn't have to.

Alica replied without looking at her.

"You don't need to worry about that. But shouldn't you focus on Alex and Erry? They're spilling their food." Her voice was cold as ice.

Hearing Alica's reply, Arion's grandmother let out a low laugh.

"Pffft….." She tried to stop it, but it made it even worse. She immediately made her face straight again, like nothing had happened.

Ruly clenched her fist, almost piercing her skin. She turned her head down. Feeling embarrassed, she quickly maintained her cool again, wiping Alex and Erry's faces with a tissue.

Alica took a bite of curry, immediately turning her mood fresh again. The taste of curry was delicious. She immediately took another bite.

"Today's curry is really tasty," Alica said while taking another bite. Arion was sleeping in one arm.

Behind Alica, a servant spoke.

"Thank you, Your Highness," she bowed her head.

Alica turned around to her. Seeing her, she remembered something.

"If I remember correctly, your delivery happened the same day as mine, right?"

The servant replied, still bowing her head.

"You're right, Your Highness."

Alica looked at Arion, sleeping quietly in her arm. She looked back at the servant again, with a soft voice and kindness.

"What are you doing here then? A child needs his mother more than anything! Go quickly and take care of him until he's big enough. And don't worry about work."

The servant lifted her head. Looking at Alica's gentle face, her own face was on the verge of tears, but she held them in.

"Thank you, Your Highness." The servant bowed again before taking her leave.

Seeing Alica's kindness, Arion's grandfather and grandmother looked at each other, smiling.

"She's truly a kind empress," Arion's grandfather admired Alica.

"Indeed," Arion's grandmother nodded in agreement.

Hearing their words, Alica replied.

"You're too kind, Mother, Father."

Everyone was happy except Ruly. Jealousy had completely consumed her. As she took a sip of water, staring at Alica, her thoughts were:

"How long are you going to fake it? Just wait and see when I will uncover this kindness act from your fake face to everyone."

Alica had finished her breakfast. She wiped her face with grace and stood up.

"I'll take my leave then," Alica said. She was just about to leave, but Alex stopped her.

"Wait for me!" Alex quickly climbed down from his chair with help from a servant. He ran towards Alica.

"Don't run, you could hurt yourself!" Alica said in a gentle tone.

Alex stopped at Alica.

"Why didn't Arion eat anything? Here!" He offered half-eaten bread that he had picked from the table.

She took the bread from Alex's hand.

"Thank you so much, Alex!" She smiled gently at him. "I'll make sure to give it to him when he wakes up." Alica turned around and walked.

Seeing this, Ruly remained with a calm expression as she took a sip of soup.

Her thoughts:

"I should teach some lessons to that brat later."

Alica, in her room, placed Arion gently on the bed. Her phone rang.

"Now what," she thought as she reached for her phone on the table. From irritation, her expression changed into a smile as it was from Yoran. She quickly picked up.

"Hello."

Yoran: "Hey, what are you doing?"

Alica: "Nothing. What about you?"

Yoran, who was tired from working since early morning: "Don't even ask! I'm tired. Being a CEO is really hard, and it's even harder when you're the CEO of multiple companies."

"I could imagine. But hurry home, Arion is missing you." She looked at Arion, smile on her face.

Yoran, who was tired just a moment ago, stood up.

"I'm on my way."

Alica let out a soft laugh.

"Haha."
