Chapter 12 - Chapter 11

Viola's POV

Trenton began coughing loudly and I went between my father and Alpha Jake to push through the door. Blood spattered on his face as he coughed it up. Amy had cut his shirt off as it was plastered with blood and I could see a gash in his abdomen, scratches on his face, and another gash over his pecks. His legs had bites and cuts all over them.

Derek and I went to his bedside where Amy and her assistant weren't working at.

"You shouldn't be in here." Amy's assistant said to us frustrated.

"It's fine Jayden. He's her mate." Amy said ignoring her assistant's attitude. Her eyes brightened as she looked at me and Derek. "He needs a blood transfusion for his healing to start correctly or he is going to die."

"Fine, I'll give him blood." Jake said from behind me.

Amy shook her head. "Actually Alpha Jake, when there is an instance of two mates the best blood is the second mate. Specific blood proteins create the mate bond, and since Viola is mated to him and Derek, their blood is the most satisfactory match. It's a perfect match actually because our senses are only connected to certain blood."

Derek's eyes widened in surprise. "I'll do it." He said not even hesitating. I couldn't fathom how he could do that. I mean he told me that he felt connected to Trenton somehow and in the same breath also admitted that he would rather have me all to himself.

Amy grabbed all she needed to begin a blood transfusion and I backed up a bit to give them room. As soon as Derek's blood was running I could see the smaller scratches begin to heal ever so slowly.

Amy looked at the rest of us. "Even when you share DNA with someone in a bloodline, there's an unusual footprint in the proteins. It doesn't matter if they have a different background, or even a different breed. These are what call us to our fated mate." She paused and smiled at me. "Or fated mates in some cases."

It was so weird to not have this be a secret, and somehow Amy knew quickly.

"How did you know?" I asked.

She smiled at me. "How do you think pack doctors or nurses are chosen?"

I furrowed my brows. "By the alpha?" I asked.

She looked to my dad, who was also smiling. "Pack doctors are chosen by the Night Goddess. Certain wolves, usually two or three within a pack, are given certain healing abilities, as well as the ability to see DNA, blood patterns, anything that would benefit us in our trade."

"Huh." I was completely shocked, I had no idea.

"I had seen your mate pattern with Derek after your wolf emerged, and when they brought Trenton in, I saw it again." She continued.

"That's why you told Jayden that it was fine we were in here, you remembered where you had seen the blood pattern before."

She nodded her head and looked over to Trenton and Derek. I followed her gaze to see that the larger gashes were almost completely healed. I strode over to Derek and put my hand on his shoulder as he sat next to Trenton with his blood still flowing.

"Thank you." I whispered to him.

Derek put his hand over mine and looked up at me. "I didn't have a choice Viola, not really."

Although I didn't really understand what he meant I smiled softly at him and kissed his hand.

Trenton's eyes finally opened and immediately found my gaze. He smirked. "I have to almost die for you to try and be around me?"

I gave him a sarcastic smile. "I guess so." He smiled.

His eyes found Derek after that, his gaze was confused as he took in the blood transfusion equipment attached to him and Derek.

"His blood is a perfect match for you, and he offered to help." Amy said. Trenton took his eyes from the equipment to look at Amy. "It's because of your mate bond with Viola."

Trenton grunted. Such a guy thing to do.

Amy began unhooking all of the lines from Derek and Trenton and gave him the all clear to go.

We walked out with both of my mates on either side of me with Jake and my father behind us.

"Pack house, now." My father ordered as we entered the courtyard.

I sighed as he stormed off in front of us followed by Jake.

"Does he know about Dalia?" Trenton asked while we started following the alphas.

Derek and I shook our heads at the same time. "We didn't want to drop it on him without proof."

"Fine, then he doesn't know about my father's involvement either."

"Nope." Derek answered. "Jake seemed kind of off though."

I laughed sarcastically. "Vex was trying to crawl out and claw his eyes out."

We got to the pack house and found my father pacing back and forth while Jake was casually leaned against the wall, his arms crossed.

"When were you going to tell me?" My father looked at me.

"I wasn't, not until I understood what was happening to me."

"Viola, two mates isn't unheard of, but it is limited to certain powers. Hybrids, and almost no hunters." Jake said watching my father.

"Hunters don't have two mates?" I asked sitting in a chair feeling completely unnerved.

My father shook his head. "Not typically. Dyad's are for alpha genes in hybrids, and hunters are typically drawn only to one mate." He looked at Trenton. "How did you even know? When did you meet him?" My father's eyes pointed to me and narrowed.

I sighed. "He helped me when Drew was trying to attack me, probably kill me."

His eyes widened and he stormed out of the pack house with Jake on his heels.

I went outside and watched them head towards Beta Max's house. I walked towards the fountain.

"He's in for a world of shit." Derek said with a smile. "Now, why would your father help Dalia Trenton?"

Trenton seemed uneasy. "Dalia blackmailed him."

I stopped in my tracks and the guys followed suit. "With what?"

He sighed and looked at me apologetically. "He tried to hide Avery." He shoved his hands in his pockets.

I still felt confused but Derek's eyes had widened in surprise.

"Is someone going to tell me who the hell this Avery is?" I asked tapping my foot and crossing my arms over my chest.

Derek looked at me. "Avery is your mom. Your real mom."
