"Don't shoot!"
At the same time, Aunt May's voice rang out.
But it was too late.
The Vulture had already fallen into a pool of blood.
At this moment, in Peter's mind, the images of Yurick and Uncle Ben's tragic deaths flashed in succession.
He knew more than Aunt May.
He knew that Uncle Ben hadn't been crippled and left in an abandoned factory to be torn apart by wild dogs because he'd offended the factory owner.
Instead, the factory owner, whose heart was full of ugliness, had hired the Green Goblin. The Green Goblin had taken Uncle Ben to the abandoned factory, and then, it was this Vulture, with his sharp teeth, who had torn flesh from Uncle Ben's body bit by bit, devouring him alive!
So when he found Uncle Ben's body, all that remained was a bloody skeleton, and the intact head, left for identification purposes!
This hatred, this hatred... How could he possibly endure it?!!
"You killed him?"
"You actually shot an unarmed person?"
"Who do you think you are?"
"Do you think you can be above the law?"
Aunt May looked at Peter in disbelief, firing off a series of questions.
Peter, who had regained control of his body, didn't know how to respond to Aunt May's questions and her gaze.
"But he would have killed you," he stammered.
"Kill me? Yes, so you want me to thank you for it? Is that what you want?" Aunt May was aggressive at the moment.
Peter stared blankly at Aunt May, saying nothing, not knowing what to say.
Aunt May seemed to see through his black goggles into his eyes, and she was stunned for a moment. The next words didn't come out.
She took a deep breath, turned her back, and said dejectedly, "Child, I want to tell you something. In this era, people like us are just grass. If everyone's actions have no rules, then we are really nothing."
"We humans shouldn't live in a world where we kill each other like animals!"
Peter was silent again.
He could understand Aunt May.
She and Uncle Ben, like the past him, were just extremely humble members of this dark era.
But she and Uncle Ben had always done what they felt was necessary, despite their humble circumstances.
They stood up to the despicable businessmen who deliberately withheld wages, and the ugly drug dealers who deliberately inflated drug prices.
They were like fireflies, trying to dispel the darkness of this era with their own weak light.
But what was the final result? Uncle Ben was captured by the Green Goblin and eaten alive by the Vulture.
Aunt May was almost in trouble too!
Even he, not long ago, was attacked by the Green Goblin's gang! If it weren't for Yurick, he might have been dead too.
"Ma'am, I understand, but what you don't understand is that some people won't follow your rules. These people might follow my rules! And my rules are violence!"
People like Aunt May would stand in the light to illuminate the world.
And people like him were destined to lurk in the shadows.
He was Peter, a Peter who had traveled from the 21st century, but he was also Spider-Man, Shadow Spider-Man!
Peter turned and walked away.
He had to deal with this.
He didn't know the time flow between this world and his own, but as he understood it, he was now using something like a quantum entanglement to enter this world from his own, and had possessed Shadow Spider-Man.
So, theoretically, at least while he was possessing this body, the two worlds should be synchronized in time.
It was about four hours until morning in his world. Mr. Stark had said he would be visiting in the morning, so he just needed to return within four hours.
After sorting out his thoughts, Peter began to consider the whereabouts of the Green Goblin's gang.
If everything went as expected, the other two people who could become his helpers – Felicia and Jonah – were there right now.
"Meat Processing Plant!"
"Yurick's files call this the execution room, a common 'office' for the Green Goblin gang. If I had to guess, this is the place, right?"
Peter stood atop a factory building. He'd found a skylight, but it was locked.
That didn't faze Peter. He reached out, grabbed one side of the skylight, and put his strength into it. Under the pressure of his immense power, the skylight quickly warped and was ripped off entirely!
Peter casually tossed the mangled skylight aside. Don't expect him to pay for that.
Besides, if all went well, the Green Goblin gang wouldn't exist after today. Who would come looking for compensation?
Peter climbed down the wall. His keen hearing soon picked up voices.
Following the sound, he finally saw his target.
Below, there were two large cages.
One cage held the kidnapped J. Jonah Jameson. He was chained up and gaunt, obviously having suffered a lot.
Another cage held a large tiger. Peter had seen it in Yurick's files; it was Kraven the Hunter's companion.
Several people were also standing in front of the cage.
Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin, Kraven the Hunter, and... Felicia!
Felicia was indeed tied up here.
"Oh, Felicia, my dear, what should I do with you?" Green Goblin said, hands in his pockets, looking at Felicia.
"Hmph, you can apologize to me, Osborn," Felicia maintained her usual coldness. She was the owner of the Black Cat Bar, a ruthless character who could kill without hesitation. "Then you can have one of your lackeys call me a car."
"Call a car? Heh heh heh~" Green Goblin let out a strange laugh. "I admire your bluff, dear, but it won't do you any good."
Then, he pointed to the cage beside him: "You might as well ask Jameson. He's been cursing me for a week, but he still can't escape the fate of having his guts ripped out."
"J. Jonah Jameson!" Felicia turned her head, finally noticing the man locked in a cage in the corner, and was shocked.
"Why so surprised?" Green Goblin clicked his tongue. "Oh~ right, you thought Jameson was gunned down by Spider-Man a few hours ago, didn't you?"
"But, I knew about this because I have informants at City Hall. How did you find out?"
"Let me guess, let me guess, darling~" Green Goblin slowly paced beside Felicia. "You have a connection with Spider-Man, right? He's your little lover? Did you have him kill Jameson?"
Felicia's face turned a little ugly. "Just like you sent Jameson to kill Ben Yurick? Do you think you're so smart, Osborn?"
"What do you mean?" Green Goblin's face immediately darkened, staring fixedly at Felicia.
