Chapter 22 Iron Man vs. Iron Monger
Just as the two of them were still confused about what had happened, an indescribable sensation caused them to clutch their stomachs and perform a stomach-emptying ritual.
After a while, the two finally recovered. Similarly, Pepper also knew that the identity of this mysterious person was undoubtedly Sherlock.
Such malicious behavior, or rather, such a mischievous and highly debilitating magic, was definitely Sherlock's style.
Seeing Pepper looking at him with murderous eyes, Sherlock could only awkwardly and helplessly scratch the back of his head and explain.
"It's always like this the first time; you'll get used to it gradually."
Pepper didn't believe a single word of Sherlock's explanation. After a cold snort, she looked down with a worried expression.
While the two were vomiting, Tony had already flown over in his classic red and gold Iron Man suit. At this moment, the two iron men had already wrestled from the industrial park onto the road.
Clearly, Tony was at a disadvantage. This was like a normal person fighting; weight held an absolute advantage. Compared to Tony's form-fitting armor, Iron Monger, which was more like a mech, undoubtedly had more weight and power.
Seeing that their fight was about to affect bystanders, Sherlock greeted the two, admonished them to stay put, and then used another Phantom Shift to arrive near the battlefield.
Sherlock's goal was simple: merely to save the innocent bystanders who were being affected.
Obadiah Stane, driving the Iron Monger, was now like a madman. Everything on the road became his weapon against Tony.
Cars and motorcycles, under the Iron Monger's massive body, were like sticks, constantly being thrown at Tony.
Tony could only save the innocent unfortunate ones while trying to contend with Obadiah Stane.
Sherlock's addition clearly relieved much of Tony's pressure, even allowing him to act without restraint.
Whenever Obadiah Stane picked up a car and threw it at Tony, Sherlock would steadily catch the cars flying in mid-air with Wingardium Leviosa.
After safely placing the car on the ground, Sherlock didn't forget to cast a Reparo on it.
He would even thoughtfully go up and ask if anyone inside the car was injured. If they were, Sherlock would tell them to drive to a nearby spot and wait, as someone would come to treat them. If they weren't injured, Sherlock would tap on the car door, signaling them to leave quickly, as it was dangerous here.
The life-and-death struggle between the two was utterly transformed by Sherlock, making it seem like children fighting while an adult cleaned up their mess.
Sherlock even took the time to cast a Reparo on Tony, who was taking a beating, restoring his scratched armor to look brand new.
This scene made Obadiah Stane scream in rage, even starting to babble uncontrollably.
Facing Obadiah Stane's taunts, Tony showed no panic and continued to contend with Obadiah Stane with ease.
However, as time passed and the energy of Tony's old Arc Reactor weakened, Tony found that he had no way to break through Obadiah Stane's Iron Monger's defense.
The two fought for a long time, seemingly unable to defeat each other.
Obadiah Stane also seemed to notice this situation and laughed triumphantly. He was not panicked at all, because his Arc Reactor had more energy compared to the second-hand reactor in Tony's chest.
It was also more suitable for a war of attrition. Obadiah Stane believed that no matter how much of a genius Tony was, he couldn't build a new reactor in such a short time.
The triumphant Obadiah Stane even completely forgot about Sherlock, who was standing on the outskirts of the battlefield. While sparring with Tony, he recounted everything he believed he deserved.
However, perhaps Obadiah Stane was too complacent. When talking about Tony's father, he intentionally or unintentionally mentioned Sherlock's parents.
At that moment, an unnamed rage surged into Sherlock's heart. Fortunately, Sherlock, being on the periphery of the battlefield, remained rational and immediately called Pepper, who was on a distant rooftop, to inquire about the situation.
Under Sherlock's interrogation, Pepper revealed a fact that Sherlock could not accept: his parents' deaths were man-made!
Moreover, according to the information on Obadiah Stane's computer, the mastermind behind that man-made accident was Obadiah Stane! The reason for doing so was merely because Sherlock's parents had the right to inherit shares in Stark Industries.
Knowing the truth, Sherlock could no longer contain his anger. With just a wave of his wand, Tony, who was flying in mid-air and charging towards Obadiah Stane, was as if bound by an invisible rope.
He was suddenly pulled away from the center of the battlefield. A somewhat bewildered Tony quickly learned what had happened from Jarvis and came to Sherlock's side, looking concerned.
"Kid, I'm sorry, I just found out about this."
Facing Tony's apology, Sherlock didn't react much, only gritting his teeth and saying to Tony.
"Now, switch!"
With that, Sherlock ignored Tony's reaction and strode towards Obadiah Stane's Iron Monger.
And facing Sherlock walking towards him, Obadiah Stane showed no panic, even feeling a bit like laughing, because according to the Iron Monger's system observations, Sherlock had no armor on his body.
He was just an ordinary person dressed in clothes. Although this person had some unknown magical tricks, in Obadiah Stane's view, this did not mean Sherlock could withstand the barrage of weapons on his body.
"Hahahahahaha, Tony, have you given up now? You've even pushed out this person who doesn't even dare to reveal his identity to die?"
Facing Obadiah Stane's mockery, Sherlock didn't care, and didn't even bother to react to whatever Tony behind him was doing. He walked directly in front of Obadiah Stane's Iron Monger.
"Allow me to introduce myself, Sherlock Phoenix, Tony Stark's nephew, and the child of Cornell Phoenix and Yuffie Phoenix, whom you killed!
Obadiah Stane, this is no longer a dispute between you and Tony over the ownership of Stark Industries. This is now an issue between you and me. Believe me, I will make you experience a death a thousand times more miserable than my parents'."
Sherlock said in an unusually calm tone, as if stating an established fact, leaving no room for doubt.
