Chapter 23 - 23

Chapter 23: Sherlock vs. Iron Monger (Part 1)

Obadiah Stane didn't take Sherlock's threat seriously at all; in fact, he even felt a little like laughing. He controlled his massive body to bend slightly, and the blue light from the eyes of the helmet, which Tony had crafted by hand in the cave, stared fixedly at Sherlock.

"Hahahahahahaha, you little bastard, a death a thousand times more painful than your parents'? With you? Hahahahahahahahaha, I think you should thank me and your dear Uncle Tony.

I let your parents die in a plane crash, it was instantaneous, without much pain. Tony, on the other hand, hid you very well, so well that even I, his favorite uncle, didn't know you existed.

As for you wanting revenge? Hahahahahahahahaha, your genius uncle couldn't do it even in his newest armor, and you can? On what grounds? With that little wooden stick in your hand?

Are you going to poke me to death with that little wooden stick? Hahahahahahahahahahaha!"

Obadiah Stane's arrogant laughter, muffled by the Iron Monger's thick armor, sounded incredibly deep. Fortunately, the sound wasn't very loud, so only a few people in the center of the battlefield could clearly hear what Obadiah Stane was saying.

Facing Obadiah Stane's mockery, the originally enraged Sherlock seemed to clear his mind considerably. A cruel smile unconsciously appeared on his face as he looked up at the Iron Monger, which was almost twice his height, and slowly said,

"Congratulations, Obadiah Stane, you guessed correctly. I'm going to poke you to death with a small wooden stick! To smithereens!!!"

As Sherlock's words fell, the magic wand in Sherlock's hand suddenly emitted a burst of White light, and a powerful impact force shot out from the magic wand, directly hitting the Iron Monger's abdomen.

The massive Iron Monger was directly pushed back more than ten meters by this powerful impact.

However, Obadiah Stane, who was inside the Iron Monger, didn't know what Sherlock had done, but Obadiah Stane discovered in horror.

Along with that huge impact, the protective armor on his Iron Monger's abdomen, which was as thick as a tank's frontal armor, instantly turned into iron powder and vanished without a trace, even exposing the internal machinery and wiring.

And after this strike, a confident smile also appeared on Sherlock's face. This was Sherlock's first time using magic in actual combat. Just from that one strike, Sherlock confirmed one thing.

Even if his combat power couldn't defeat the top combat powers in Marvel, Sherlock could still easily crush a small fry like the Iron Monger.

Just with the Crushing Curse, Sherlock had a feeling that if he wanted to, he could even turn the Iron Monger and Obadiah Stane inside it into ashes in an instant.

However, such a situation clearly didn't fit Sherlock's earlier threat. As an honest and trustworthy person, Sherlock naturally stood by his word; if he said Obadiah Stane wouldn't die a good death, then Obadiah Stane absolutely wouldn't.

Compared to Sherlock's calmness, Obadiah Stane, on the other hand, had lost his initial arrogance and confidence. He didn't understand how Sherlock had managed to completely pulverize the armor on his abdomen.

Watching Sherlock walk towards him step by step, Obadiah Stane felt for the first time that he might have been a bit overconfident. Every step Sherlock took towards him seemed to land directly on his heart, making Obadiah Stane increasingly terrified.

Without much hesitation, Obadiah Stane directly controlled the Iron Monger to activate all its weapon systems. With a mechanical grinding sound, countless missiles and guns instantly locked onto Sherlock.

Obadiah Stane didn't even give any warning and directly launched an attack on the steadily advancing Sherlock.

Sherlock had naturally been guarding against Obadiah Stane's sneak attack. Seeing Obadiah Stane open Fire, Sherlock remained completely calm. He gently waved his magic wand, and in an instant, a yellow light film formed in front of him.

This was an advanced application of Transfiguration recorded in Dumbledore's notes!

The first to hit the light screen Sherlock created were the fastest large-caliber bullets, followed closely by various missiles of different calibers and power.

Obadiah Stane seemed to have already envisioned Sherlock being torn to shreds by the large-caliber bullets, then blown to ashes by the missiles.

However, the triumphant smile had just appeared on Obadiah Stane's lips, and before it could fully bloom, it froze directly on Obadiah Stane's face.

It was seen that no matter if it was cannonballs, missiles, or bullets, as soon as they touched the impossibly thin light screen in front of Sherlock, they would transform into various kinds of petals.

Under the effect of inertia, Sherlock was instantly surrounded by petals of various colors: pink cherry blossoms, White magnolias, fiery Red roses, orange-yellow winter jasmines—a colorful and beautiful sight.

But such a beautiful scene, to Obadiah Stane, was like the God of Death himself. None of his weapons could pose a threat to the person wearing no armor, and they couldn't even stop Sherlock's advance.

All at once, immense fear seized Obadiah Stane's entire being. He didn't know how he could possibly defeat this highly skilled young man, and for a moment, Obadiah Stane even began to regret provoking him.

Without the slightest hesitation, Obadiah Stane, seeing his weapons were ineffective, immediately thought of escaping. As Sherlock got closer and closer.

Obadiah Stane, adhering to the idea that where there's life, there's hope, didn't hesitate to activate the thrusters on his feet, wanting to escape from there.

But he forgot that the thrusters on the Iron Monger's feet were clearly weaker than those on Tony's armor, and their most fatal flaw was their extremely slow startup.

Just as black smoke began to billow from the Iron Monger's feet, Sherlock almost instantly understood what Obadiah Stane intended to do.

With a gentle wave of his magic wand, in an instant, the ground transformed under Sherlock's magic into a giant hand made of rock.

The Iron Monger, which had just begun to lift off, was clutched in the giant rock hand like a toy.

Looking at the Iron Monger struggling in the giant rock hand, a cruel smile appeared on Sherlock's face.

"Obadiah Stane, I told you, I would make you experience a death ten thousand times more painful than my parents'. Before I fulfill my promise, you, as the protagonist, cannot escape!"
