Chapter 26 - 26

Chapter 26: Returning to Life

Sherlock didn't know how Tony would deal with S.H.I.E.L.D., nor did he want to know. After killing Obadiah Stane, Sherlock felt as if a huge weight had finally been lifted from his heart.

Even when he woke up the next morning, that feeling hadn't diminished at all. The constant sense of freedom led Sherlock to make a decision: he decided to pursue his dream from before he transmigrated.

Although Sherlock didn't dare to return to the great Eastern country due to the feeling of homesickness, it didn't prevent him from embarking on a very hardcore road trip across the United States, did it?

What's more, all the conditions were ripe after he arrived here. He had the 'raptor,' a transmigration artifact known for its American V8 engine and 'environmentalism be damned' attitude, which would make environmental activists furious. And there was no need to worry about funds.

Plus, with his magic and the Ancient One's authorized portals, Sherlock could even drive across various scenic roads in America during the day, lock his car, go home to sleep at night, and continue driving the next day.

Of course, doing that would be too lacking in experience. Therefore, Sherlock made a bold decision: to buy a tent!

Even if he didn't go home to sleep and slept in a tent, Sherlock could use magic to create a three-bedroom, one-living room space! Damn it, how could magic be so inconvenient?

Thinking of it, Sherlock went to do it. After greeting the uncle in the store, he drove to the largest outdoor supply supermarket in the area.

After a full day of shopping, Sherlock almost filled the raptor pickup's cargo bed to the brim before returning to his shop.

For the next few days, Sherlock wasn't seen on his lazy reclining chair in his shop. He was alone in his room, tinkering with the equipment he needed.

To be honest, Sherlock never expected that making a three-bedroom, one-living room magic tent would be so difficult. It wasn't as simple as Sherlock had imagined, just a few Traceless Extension Charms.

Fortunately, the magical library had all sorts of books. After one failure, Sherlock successfully found a book titled "How to Make a magic Tent" in the library.

Sherlock practically read the book and made it at the same time. Praise be to great magic; Sherlock was filled with a sense of accomplishment after completing it.

Of course, there wasn't an easier way. This item was considered an alchemy product in Sherlock's library and was available for sale in another vending machine, but the price...

Sherlock could only say, if I had that much spare money, wouldn't it be better to buy some magical potions? You'd even get the joy of opening a blind box. And besides, wizards' aesthetics for items from the muggle World, well, how to put it, it's hard to describe.

Sherlock even suspected that if he really bought a tent made in the magic World, he would probably be laughed to death by fellow travelers if he met them while overnighting on his road trip.

Just think of the "grand occasion" of the Quidditch World Cup in Harry Potter's original work during his fourth year; any one of those could be picked out and would be an incredibly explosive existence in the muggle World.

And adhering to the mindset of riding a bicycle to the bar, saving where you can and spending where you should, Sherlock also felt that making this himself was more reliable. After all, the various consumables, when tallied, were about half the price of those in the vending machine.

After completing all preparations, Sherlock confidently moved his various prepared equipment downstairs, one by one, and began loading them into the back of his large pickup.

Just as he finished loading all his equipment and checked the condition of his vehicle, Sherlock had just sat in the driver's seat, ready to depart, when a roar of an engine came from afar.

At first, Sherlock didn't pay attention, but soon, an Audi R8 sports car appeared in Sherlock's sight, directly stopping Sherlock, who was just about to leave.

Soon, Sherlock knew who could do such a dangerous thing: his good uncle, Tony Stark!

Watching Tony smugly get out of his supercar, come to the window of his raptor, and tap on it, Sherlock opened the window helplessly, looking at the flashy man who had recently announced that he was Iron Man.

"Dear Uncle Tony, do you need something? If not, I'd like to leave as soon as possible."

Facing Sherlock's sarcastic tone, Tony was completely unperturbed. He raised an eyebrow slightly, looking at Sherlock with a half-smile, and said,

"It seems I just helped my dear nephew get rid of some troublesome people's investigations, and now I'm about to be abandoned by my dear nephew. Oh, by the way, Sherlock, do you think I should go talk to a certain unlikable one-eyed Director about a certain magician's display of power that night?"

Faced with Tony's blatant, undisguised threat, was Sherlock the kind of person who could be threatened? Unfortunately, Sherlock was.

Upon hearing Tony's threat, Sherlock immediately put on a fawning smile without hesitation, carefully got out of the car, and led Tony to the passenger seat.

During the process, he even acted extremely subservient, opening the car door and holding the roof, for fear that Tony, like an old Buddha, might be even slightly displeased.

"My dear uncle, what are you saying? Come, come, be careful of the step. Please sit down first, I'll be right back."

The unusually fawning Sherlock, after helping Tony into the passenger seat, didn't forget to go back into the shop to pour a cup of coffee and respectfully hand it to Tony, who was sitting in the passenger seat, before returning to his own driver's seat.

Seeing Sherlock's demeanor, Tony finally nodded with satisfaction. After taking a sip of coffee, Tony put away his playful expression and looked at Sherlock, saying,

"Alright, I've taken care of S.H.I.E.L.D. I just told them you're a magical person I met by chance, but I don't know your true identity. They seem very interested in your magic.

Be careful recently. If you don't want to get tangled up with those clingy people, it's best to be more discreet, especially their one-eyed Director. You must be careful; he's not an easy person to deal with.

And I have a feeling that the Water in that S.H.I.E.L.D. is very deep. Try to stay away from them, understood?"

Upon hearing Tony's instructions, Sherlock was extremely happy. After all, with the help of Tony, an insider, Sherlock could be said to have saved countless troubles, especially now during the Serpent Shield Bureau period.

Seeing that Sherlock seemed to want to express his admiration and gratitude, like a surging river, Tony quickly waved his hand to interrupt Sherlock, and then asked the question he had been wanting to ask.

"Where are you going, all packed up like this?"
