[The Red Keep, 73 A.C.]
"Oh my, look at you, little Prince." one of Queen Alysanne's Lady companions said as she approached Vaegon Targaryen, "Aren't you quite something, hm?"
Vaegon was standing next to a table, his arms crossed as he had a serious scowl on his face. He said nothing, simply stared to the side.
Queen Alysanne walked over, "Vaegon, be polite." She said with a slight smile, "Where is your brother?"
"Which one?" Vaegon asked, "I have plenty."
"Vaelor." Alysanne looked around, "I haven't seen him today."
"That fool." Vaegon said with a scoff, "He's probably with Baelon or Aemon."
The lady looked at the Queen, "Your Grace, it has been quite some time since I've seen your children." She said, "Is Prince Vaelor good? When he was born, he was quite frail compared to his twin."
"Oh, he's grown quite healthy." Alysanne nodded, "He's Vaegon's complete opposite, in terms of his demeanor. You should see him, that son of mine."
As they spoke, Princess Daella and her older sister, approached them.
"Mother, I will take Daella to the dragon pit soon." Alyssa said with a mischievous smile, "We're going to see the dragons."
"And with whose leave will you do that?" Alysanne asked with a raised eyebrow, "You're going to take your sister and endanger her like that?"
"Ah, but Baelon and Vaelor are there." Alyssa frowned
"I knew it." Alysanne sighed, "My apologies, My Lady. To deal with such adventurous children can be quite the task, I must admit."
The Lady smiled, "Oh well, it's no trouble." She said as she looked at Princess Daella,"And look at you, little Princess. Aren't you beautiful?"
Daella stood behind Alyssa, looking down while flustered, "H-Hello...."
"Is Princess Daella not younger than Prince Vaegon?" the Lady asked as she looked at Vaegon, "I hear that she is to marry one of the twins, will that be you, Young Prince?"
"Yes, Vaegon will be-" Queen Alysanne started
"I'll be damned if I am to be paired with such a buffoon!!!" Vaegon snapped, an angry look on his face, which shocked everyone present, "If Daella is to marry someone, she best look for a husband who wants to have stupid and idiotic children. That is all she will have, since she is nothing but a hollow-skulled moron!!!"
Alysanne had her eyes widened in surprise and shocked, completely taken aback by her son's outburst as the Lady stared at this as well.
"Vaegon!" Alyssa exclaimed with a scowl
Daella stepped back, tears forming in her eyes as her lips quivered, "I....." She said, her voice was soft, "I...."
Without saying anything else, the Princess turned around and ran out the hall, her loud sobs ringing echoing as the guards were frozen in surprise by Vaegon's words.
Alysanne followed, "Daella!!"
As the Queen left, Alyssa grabbed a flagon of wine and poured it atop Vaegon's head, "You stupid little boy!!!" She said with anger, "Be ashamed of yourself!!"
"Ahhh!!!" Vaegon exclaimed, "You dare!!"
Alyssa then slapped his face, "Go to your chambers, you fool!" She exclaimed
A Kingsguard Knight took a step forward, "Princess, calm down."
Vaegon's face was red, not just from the wine, but with pure anger, "I'll get you for this!!!" He said before turning around and running away, "You foolish girl!"
Alyssa stuck her tongue out, "Go ahead and try something!"
******************
King Jaehaerys was standing in front of his sons, his arms crossed, "It took a long time for your Mother to console Daella." He said, "But Vaegon's harsh words got to the girl."
Aemon was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed, "Those were very interesting words he chose." He said, "What has gotten to him?"
Baelon was sitting down on the floor, crosselegged, as he leaned on his arms, "Vaegon can be such a prick sometimes." He said with a frown, "Father, you must discipline. He should be more like Vaelor, honestly."
"You show clear bias because Vaelor gets along better with you." Jaehaerys said as he looked at the third son in front of him, "And I don't think he is listening to the conversation one bit."
Next to Baelon, a young boy who looked similar to Vaegon was sitting down, his face inches close to a large book he held in his hands. His white hair was combed neatly to the side as his deep purple eyes were darting from side to side as he read.
"Vaelor." Aemon cleared his throat
The boy looked up, "Huh?"
Baelon chuckled, "Did you not hear what Vaegon did?" He asked, "He insulted Daella. It is quite a serious thing, haha. Mother is very angry."
"What did he tell her?" Vaelor asked with a frown, "I wasn't there."
"Apparently, Vaegon thinks our sister is nothing more than a hollow-skulled buffoon." Aemon said, "Or something like that. He doesn't seem rather happy that he is betrothed to Daella."
"Not like they'll marry soon." Baelon shrugged, "He should loosen up a bit."
Vaelor blinked, "If Vaegon doesn't want to marry Daella, I'll do it." He said before looking back at the book, "It will not be an issue for me."
"Huh?" Baelon looked at him, "You serious?"
"Why marry them together when they don't like each other?" Vaelor said, "My brother will neglect her and that is not something I want for my beloved sister. Father, it is your choice, though."
Jaehaerys was staring at his son without saying much of a word. He was a bit appalled by Vaelor's demeanor. He always knew that Vaelor was the most relaxed of the twins, an easy-going child who liked to play and have adventures with his older siblings.
"The plan was to marry Saera to you." Jaehaerys said seriously
Vaelor shrugged, "Okay."
Aemon looked at Jaehaerys, "It could be a good idea...." He said with a shrug, "Vaelor and Daella. Vaegon is a bit too rough. He doesn't seem too interested in things like this. When I asked him if he wanted to claim a dragon soon, he gave me the cold shoulder and walked away. Vaelor here is excited to become a dragonrider."
"Sometimes easier is better." Baelon nodded
"Yea." Vaelor nodded, "You got that right."
"Stay on your book." Baelon chuckled
Jaehaerys let out a sigh, "This is something I must discuss with your mother." he said, "As for you three, you must include Vaegon more often in your exploits. He feels left out."
"Oh, we include him alright." Vaelor said, "He doesn't want to take part."
Aemon nodded, "Sometimes, I don't take part in their shenanigans, but I agree with Vaelor."
Jaehaerys made his way to the door, "I hope you lot don't do anything foolish these days." He said as he reached it, "Behave."
He then opened the door and walked out.
Vaelor set the book down, "Did Daella really cry?" He asked Baelon, "Was that not an exaggeration?"
"It was not." Baelon said, "She did cry. A lot. So much that Mother was very worried."
Vaelor stood up, "Oh well." He said as he rubbed his neck, "As her beloved older brother...."
"I must comfort her."
