Inside a private room in the manor, Raze sat down on a chair facing the woman and the young lady as well. The three men were at the dining table having their stomachs filled with what little resources his father claimed to have in order to look well-to-do.
Elaine stood behind Raze, her head was bowed, not knowing why Raze would make her stay here, but he stated that she was like an assistant and he needed her presence for certain reasons.
Everyone in the house was currently tense, they prayed with everything that they had that Raze wouldn't shatter Riker's chance to make it to the academy.
The woman looked Raze in the eye, she pulled out the small vial of perfume and the soap, placing them on the table, then she looked at him.
"How did you make this? Perfumes that scent this much are sold in main cities, and a vial this size would cost five gold coins at least.
It takes some of the best alchemists to make such a vial and it is always rushed by nobles and more. Taking a look at this, I don't want to assume that you spent five gold coins only to give me a gift," she spoke, looking right into his eyes.
"I made them," Raze said simply, and immediately, the woman and the girl were shocked.
"What did you say?" she asked.
"I made them, the soap and the perfume, and it didn't cost up to a gold coin to make," he said.
"To be precise, young master, everything that I got was for ten silver coins in total," Elaine said.
Her words stunned them even more, "You mean to say this vial here was made from ten silver coins?" the woman asked again to be sure.
"No, I made a total of five vials and five bars of soap from everything that we bought." A grin formed on his face as he said that with full confidence.
His words were like a bombshell dropped on their heads, they looked at each other like they couldn't believe it.
"That's impossible, to make something like this at such a price," she said.
"Well it is, I stand no gain to lie to you about the price, but I wanted to make sure I was honest with you as we began working together.
The both of you are from the prestigious Raven Academy, you have heavy ties, and I want to start selling these." He explained what he wanted.
"I see, this is massive, being able to make this much at such a cost, you could sell it a lot cheaper than the ones sold in the major cities.
But before we go on, may I ask you, kid, how did you make it?" she asked.
"The ingredients are a secret, I specially made them, the process as well is mostly a secret, as I don't want that information out there.
But it was a mix of magic and something called chemistry," Raze said, the smile on his face never fading.
"Magic?" the girl asked.
"Oh, I slipped up, well, doesn't matter if they know I have magic, it increases my selling point."
"Yes, a little bit of magic," Raze said.
"Any kind of magic that is used in the creation of something like this is definitely a well-controlled one, which means you have a good talent for magic," the girl said.
Raze looked at her, this girl was a bit too observant. Yes, he had used magic, water and fire magic as he tried to make sure the heat was right, and the flow was right.
"Forgive her, she is very enthusiastic about magic, she studies it religiously," the woman said.
"It's fine, I love to read as well, you could say endless study helped me make this," Raze said.
"Now, you said you used magic, then why didn't you try out to enter the academy as well? You are of the age," the woman said.
"No, no, no, I'd rather stay here and make some money. The Raven Academy is an expensive school, one person is already going to be a heavy blow, so two is impossible," Raze said.
"Hmmm, I see, so it's like that, so I'm guessing your father believes your brother has more potential?" she asked.
"No, my father has no idea that I do magic," Raze said.
"Hmmm? How's that possible?" she asked.
"It's a long story," he said.
"Can I see your hand?" the girl suddenly asked.
Raze looked at her with confusion, then looked at the woman and she nodded, so Raze stretched out his hand to her.
She took it with both hands and closed her eyes, Raze could immediately feel something poking inside him, looking around.
Her eyes suddenly snapped open, filled with pure shock.
"Your mana, it's extremely pure," she said.
"Huh?"
"It's too pure, I haven't seen mana like it before," she said.
"Ella, are you certain about that?" the woman asked and the girl nodded.
"I am certain, his mana is extremely pure, he certainly has great potential," she said. There was a shine in her eyes as she looked at him.
'This is going off course, have to pull it back.'
"Can we focus back on the perfume and soap?" he asked.
"Indeed we can, but here's the deal, I'll take all you have, buying one at only a gold coin, and I'll pay you a hundred gold coins for you to make more ahead for when I come again, because I am definitely sure it will sell out before I even get back to the city.
I'll do the same for your soap, each one at five hundred silver. We will be partners in full and I can draft a full contract, but I'll do so only if you show me what you can do with magic.
A presentation of sorts, don't hold back anything," she said, her tone serious.
"Sigh, if that's what it will take to sell my goods, then fine," Raze replied.
