Chapter 6 - who is she?!

Kane POV

After mind linking Knox I began getting ready,

I slipped on a pair of dark grey slacks and a crisp fitted black shirt. As I opened my door Jax and Alfie greeted me on the other side.

"Where are you going brother?" Jax spoke first.

"Out. I need to clear my head" I took a step to leave, Alfie stepped in front of the door.

"Spending your time in that place won't help us find our mate" he said calmly.

That place he said with such disgust was our first business project as leaders of the pack.

We created Death shadow club for pack members, warriors to blow of steam, socialise and find their mates.

It's situated on the border of our pack lands so people and beings outside our pack could create revenue, build bridges and open communications between packs.

"Who said that's where I am heading?" I said

Knox's car horn beeped outside letting me know he was ready.

Jax raised an eyebrow. "You should be careful, it's.. not the best place for Alphas to show themselves regularly" he said carefully, like he was holding himself back.

I knew what he meant, if we found our mates or mate- it's not uncommon for werewolves who are twins, triplets etc to share a mate- then it could cause friction with her. Death shadow club was after all not only a social club but a burlesque club, one that if the price was right a shewolf may offer personal services.

Knox beeped his horn again, getting impatient.

"I'm leaving now" I said, Jax nodded, Alfie sighed stepping aside.

I quickly walked out of the pack house and jumped into the passenger seat of Knox's car before he sped off towards the pack boarder.

"What took you so long brother" Knox knowingly smirked.

I sighed again, my world was still so restless, I was starting to feel uneasy.

"Jax and Alfie, need I say more?"

Knox let out a short laugh.

" They're the oldest, they think they need to protect us just because they were born a few minutes before us… so.." he paused going silent. I already knew what he was thinking.

"I think if our mate existed, we would have found her by now. We've travelled through packs during training and never once caught her scent."

He murmured agreeing.

"If we need a mate to become alphas, I say we look for one tonight" I said smirking.

Knox looked at me knowingly, a mischevious glimmer flashed in his eyes.

When we arrived my wolf was pacing, "Gunner, what is the problem" I mindlinked my wolf.

"I don't know, I just have this feeling… I don't know what it is, you'd better be careful."

I turned to Knox -" Gunner said we need to be careful"

"So did Hunter" he replied as we got out of the car.

The doorman opened the door for us bowing their head "good evening Alphas."

We nodded to him and stepped inside.

Then it hit me.

The scent of cherry and vanilla.

"Mate!"- Gunner jumped in my mind.

"What is the meaning of this?" Knox said low

Who was the red haired girl behind the bar? Why wasn't she acknowledging us? Surly her wolf would..

"I can't sense her wolf" - Knox growled quietly.

"We need to speak to Levi, find out who she is" I said as I began pacing towards the main office.
