Callie's POV
After taking a nap and eating some dinner at Jaz's place we began getting ready for work.
"Does this look cute?" Jaz asked poutingly
"It's very cute!" I agreed nodding.
"Ugh! I don't want to be cute, I need sexy!" She huffed and rolled her eyes playfully
She disappeared into her bedroom and I continued getting ready. I chose to wear a simple black, one shouldered tight fitting dress. A pair of my favourite green heels which complemented my emerald eyes. I left my red hair flow naturally around my shoulders in soft curls. After applying some clear lip gloss I was finished. I stood looking in the full length mirror. I looked beautiful. The dress Jaz gave me hugged my figure perfectly.
Jaz stepped out of her bedroom and fasted to a stop. Her eyes on me, mouth open.
"Do I look okay?" I asked nervously
"Okay? Callie you look stunning! Irresistible! I wish I had those curves" Jaz pretended to pout.
I let out a shaky laugh, I still felt… strange. Like something was going to happen. I shook it off as anticipation for my first night at the bar.
We gathered our things and left for work.
Once we arrived, we headed to the main office behind the bar to clock in. A huge man was sat in the office on the phone. He spotted us, eyes lingering on me briefly, he nodded us in and continued on the phone " of course Alpha, your usual table will be ready for you"
Alpha? That was an odd title. But why did my tummy flutter at the sound of it?
I followed Jaz into the office and clocked in for my shift.
"Hey Levi, this is Callie our new girl, I've already shown her around but I'll stay on bar with her tonight until she gets the hang of things" Jaz explained causally
"Nice to meet you Callie" Levi eyed me again, pausing…"what are you?" He muttered under his breath, just loud enough for me to hear him.
"Hmm?"
"I mean, sorry, how old are you?" Levi quickly recovered.
"I have just turned 19"
"Interesting" Levi mulled over my answer as Jaz gripped my hand and dragged me out lightly "come on we'd better get started"
She paused in the corridor outside the office, something clearly on her mind.
"Callie?.. are you really 19, it's just that I can't sense your wolf and" I cut her off
"Wolf?! What do you mean?"
Jaz looked shocked but quickly replaced that with a gentle smile "oh nothing I was just being silly" she scrambled. "Here put this on, you'll need it" she stated herself with some before handing it to me.
"What is this?"
"Just some body spray, it gets super hot out there."
I sprayed myself as she did and followed her out to the bar.
I began working and noticed Jaz watching me looking absent minded, I went to check on her just as the doors to the club opened. A few men trailed in. Every single one tall, muscular and breathtaking. Was everyone in this town beautiful?!?
I got busy mixing and pouring drinks. Music was blaring and the curtains slowly began to open. On stage stood a tall brunette woman in a silver bodice that glittered against the lights, she began moving to the music, swaying her hips and giggling at men in the crowd.
I paused, staring in awe. "It's captivating isn't it?" Jaz spoke next to me gently
"It really is… I.. I think I want to do it" I stuttered out.
Jaz excitedly clapped her hands together and jumped up "I knew it! We'll practice tomorrow together!"
Before I could respond I felt that stirring feeling in my chest again. I looked up and caught the eyes of two men standing in the doorway. They stared at me with their icy, piercing blue eyes. I swear I saw a flash of something in them but before I could move. They frowned, seemly seething with anger as they turned towards the office out back.
