They had used Whitebeard's DNA to create a monster and enhanced its genetics during its formation, similar to the Germa kids, but to a higher degree, which granted it a weaker version of Whitebeard's Devil Fruit ability without having a Devil Fruit. However, something went wrong with his own mutation, causing him to be deemed a failure. He was then abandoned on Punk Hazard when the scientists fled the scene, where his soul integrated with this new body, along with a cheat.
