Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Assembly-Line of Transmigration

Morin was a transmigrator.

The new way of transmigrating wasn't that new. After an unexpected car accident, Morin, who was in the back of a taxi, ended up here.

However, Morin always felt that the "unexpected" part of the accident needed quotation marks. Because, after he transmigrated, he suddenly remembered what the taxi driver had said in the car.

"Congratulations, young man, I was just about to get off work."

At the time, Morin had just come out of the hospital with his medical report, and he was in despair… but out of politeness, he forced a bitter smile and replied, "What's there to congratulate, sir? I'm already… sigh."

"That's why I'm congratulating you…"

Morin was in a bad mood at the time and almost snapped at the driver. But in the end, he held back and didn't reply.

But now that he thought back, Morin found it deeply unsettling.

So…

Did the driver mean he was going to send him to transmigrate, and that's why he was congratulating him, because he was the last one that day?

Had transmigration become an assembly-line industry these days?!

How could there be people who were "at work" for it?

Were they specifically causing car accidents to send people to transmigrate?

Wasn't a peaceful way of transmigrating, like just falling asleep and waking up in another world, a better option?

But even though he had countless things to complain about with this new, industrialized form of transmigration, Morin was still grateful for everything.

When he was facing a dead end, he was given a chance, a chance to start over.

He was also given a powerful cheat, but the way to get stronger…

"Why am I the only one who has to work honestly to get stronger?" Morin sighed, feeling a bit helpless.

His cheat was a job system. He could only earn experience points from the income of his current profession. One thousand dollars of income was worth one experience point. At first, this was a real headache.

He started as a Novice Auto Mechanic and needed ten experience points to upgrade to Junior Auto Mechanic. This took him several months!

And this was with the help of Toretto, because he was extremely familiar with the Fast & Furious world!

Of course, later, after he opened up his own channels and successfully built up his reputation, Morin started earning money much faster. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to quickly upgrade to Intermediate Auto Mechanic and be on the verge of becoming an Advanced Auto Mechanic.

It took ten points to go from Novice to Junior, and one hundred points to go from Junior to Intermediate. The progression continued. So now, Morin, who was about to upgrade his Intermediate title to Advanced, had earned a total of eleven million dollars in this profession!

And this was only the money that was counted for the auto mechanic profession, which was the money he earned when he personally designed, modified, or repaired cars.

Morin also tried giving money to others and having them pay him to repair cars… but that didn't count toward his experience points. He tried many other methods, but none worked, so he gave up on finding shortcuts.

There were many other ways to make money in the automotive industry, and although Morin wasn't a business school graduate in his previous life, he knew a thing or two about this era.

He didn't know the history, but he at least knew about Nokia, Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook!

Morin felt he couldn't become a business tycoon, but that didn't mean he couldn't buy some stocks, right?

So, Morin's current assets totaled in the hundreds of millions. As for exactly how many hundreds of millions… he hadn't bothered to count.

"If only this money could count toward my experience points too…" Morin sighed, got up, and went to the gym downstairs to work out.

The [Physical] bonus provided by the system had long since completely healed Morin's body and brought it to a superhuman level.

Morin had estimated that a normal human's [Physical] should be between 1 and 100. At one hundred, for example, it would be the level of strength of Mike Tyson and the speed of Usain Bolt, or even higher.

Although this estimation wasn't very scientific—he had just roughly judged it by the weight he was lifting—it was good enough for Morin.

In the gym, Morin casually picked up a barbell with 50 kg weights on each side and easily warmed up.

"It's been a long time since I've done this…"

Two days later, in an abandoned factory.

Dominic Toretto, Brian O'Conner, Tej, Mia, Gisele, Roman, and Han had all met. O'Conner was introducing Roman and Tej, whom Toretto's group didn't know, and then…

"Nice choice of people," Han said, walking over to Toretto.

"There's one more person who isn't here yet," Toretto said.

"Huh?" Han was confused.

"Someone else isn't here yet?" Gisele, who was standing nearby, also asked. "Didn't you set the time a long time ago?"

As they were talking, a roaring sound from far away got closer and louder outside the factory.

Everyone inside the factory immediately tensed up and looked toward the entrance.

It might sound a bit mystical, but sometimes, just by listening to the engine sound, these racing enthusiasts could tell if it was a good car.

"Oh, he's here," Toretto said with a smile. "I can tell just by the sound."

"You two must have a very good relationship," the most talkative Roman said meaningfully.

"It's alright," Toretto said, glancing at Roman. "But I suggest you don't be too cocky around him later."

"Whoa, what are you talking about? And why?" Roman became even more excited. "Is he really that good? I'm the great…"

"Roman, Roman, hold on," O'Conner quickly stopped Roman. "Trust me, you don't want to mess with that guy."

"Why?" Gisele also became curious.

"Because that guy… he's not human…" O'Conner recalled the terrifying scene of Morin fighting ten people at once, and his legs still felt a little weak. A faint ache appeared on his back.

"O'Conner!" Mia chided. "Don't say that about Morin, he's a good guy!"

"He is," O'Conner wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. He knew what Mia said was true. "It's just, you know, that time…"

Just then, a car drove into the factory.

O'Conner and Mia's conversation had successfully made everyone who hadn't met Morin extremely curious.

And when the car appeared, they all gasped in unison.

For a racing enthusiast, the most heart-pounding moments, besides crossing the finish line ahead of everyone else, are about the car itself.
