Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The Day it all fell Apart

(Six months ago)

It was snowing heavily, and the snow covered the roads and the rooftops.

A black car drove through the city heading towards a remote area. It drove up the hills, arriving in front of a gate.

The gate opened immediately, and the car drove inside the estate. Snow sat in the back of the car, and she watched the beautiful white view from the window.

A beautiful smile graced her lips, she was happy to be back in the country. And she couldn't wait to see her parents.

Her smile widened, at the thought of seeing the surprise in her parents' faces. She didn't tell them that she would be coming home and celebrating the new year with them.

Her brows furrowed when the car pulled over. There were different cars parked in front of the mansion.

She pulled the car handle and stepped out of the car, her heart plummeting to her stomach when a lifeless body was rolled out from the mansion.

"Who is that?" She muttered under her breath.

For some strange reason, her heart ached like it was being pricked by thousands of needles.

Before she could take a step forward, the wind pulled the cover off the lifeless body.

Her knees weakened, as agonising pain rushed up her spine, grief cutting her chest open, yet she could not move or utter a word.

Tears streamed down her face when she saw the lifeless form of her mother… her mother was… gone.

Before she could regain her strength, reporters flooded outside the mansion, following her father who was handcuffed and being escorted out by the police.

"Mr. Bai, did you commit those bribes and tax evasion?"

"Mr. Bai, we heard your wife died due to the shock of your company facing a backlash and your imprisonment, how do you feel about that?"

"Mr. Bai, your company is only second to the Quinn Corporate Group, do you think they are the ones behind this?"

"Mr. Bai, there are rumours that you fought with the Quinn family, is that true?"

"Mr. Bai…"

The reporters continued bombarding him with questions.

Snow staggered back, unable to believe her ears. 'What is happening? Isn't it supposed to be the new year? Why is this happening?'

She pushed through the crowd, all she could hear was the ringing sound in her ear, and everything was distorted.

Her father turned around, and his sorrowful eyes met hers, a look of surprise flickered through his eyes. Snow parted her lips to speak, but he shook his head, signaling her to remain silent.

Snow remained in her spot, her brain refusing to process what had happened. She didn't know how long she had been standing. But the reporters and the police were gone.

Her hair and eyelashes were covered in snow, her lips turned blue, and her small frame shuddered from the cold.

Her pale skin became paler… She stared at what was once her home, but now it was sealed with no trespassing tape.

"Miss." A patrolling police officer walked up to her. "You need to leave the premises."

And now she had been chased from her home. She had become homeless all because of the Quinn family.

Her hand tightened, her lifeless gaze burned with revenge… "I'll make them pay tenfold for what they have done."

...

(Present Day)

It was just another day in country X, yet the media was going crazy. On the tall buildings, billboards, mobile phones, and social media were advertisements of reporters everywhere, clouding the city in their frenzy speech.

"Adrian Quinn, the most cherishable bachelor yet mysterious…" The female reporter smiled from ear to ear, her eyes glistening with anticipation. "... Have decided to attend the charity event of 2025. Ladies are already going crazy, some have gone as far as sending him flowers with their names and pictures on them."

"Right now, there is a massive crowd at Skyline Venue, where the charity will be taking place," The reporter turned around, the camera revealing crowds of women and reporters outside the venue.

"We wonder if Mr. Quinn will attend the event seeing this massive… "Fans". The charity event will begin in two hours… and it's already crowded. Mr. Quinn's fame doesn't just preside over his enormous wealth as the number one CEO of the Quinn conglomerate group… his almighty fame rivals those of the top idols." Her smile widened.

"The question is… will any of the females do something crazy today?"

Two hours later.

The skyline Venue shone in golden lights, and the chandeliers were visible through the glass walls. A long red carpet stretched to the entrance and was lined with velvet ropes on both sides, and the cameras flashed nonstop.

Guards in black suits were stationed everywhere, holding metal detectors.

Soon luxury cars began pulling up one after the other, with prominent figures emerging out with their private guards trailing behind them.

The crowd waited in anticipation, waiting for the man they had been dying to meet.

A few minutes later, a convoy of black luxury cars pulls up outside the venue, their polished exteriors reflecting the city lights. Security immediately rushes forward, creating a tight formation.

The last car, a Rolls-Royce Phantom glides to a stop. Its tinted windows make the crowd buzz with anticipation.

The ladies began screaming. "Mr. Quinn!!!" They rushed forward towards the car but were stopped by the tight security. The reporters shove their microphones forward, fans screaming his name, camera flashes painted the night white. It was chaos.

The chauffeur opens the door slowly… nearly making the crowds go insane, as if he was deliberately, heightening the suspense.

A long, tailored leg touched the ground first, his polished leather shoe catching the light, then the man himself emerged. Adrian Quinn.

As soon as Adrian Quinn stepped out of the Rolls-Royce, a path was cleared onto the long red carpet, rolled out towards the entrance of the Skyline Venue.

His tall, broad-shouldered frame made every line of his suit a masterpiece of handiwork. He carried the weight of power in his stride.
