Chapter 4 - Chapter 04

After a few minutes of discussion between the families, the wedding finally took place. Although initially Chelsea also refused to marry Ace, because of her parents' persuasion, Chelsea finally decided to follow all their words.

It was very hard for Chelsea to marry someone she didn't love at all; no one understood her feelings at that time. Chelsea's heart seemed to be a toy for them; she was very disappointed with Jack, who suddenly disappeared somewhere.

"Honey, now you are officially Ace's wife," Monica said while hugging her tightly.

After the wedding procession was over, Chelsea cried in her mother's arms. Maybe other people thought Chelsea was crying because she was happy, but actually she was crying because she was sad. In a wedding that was supposed to bring happiness, instead there were only tears of sadness.

"Mom, will my marriage be okay? There is no love between me and Ace; I don't even know Ace," Chelsea said with shaking shoulders. Another sob was heard.

Monica cupped both of Chelsea's cheeks, kissing her daughter's forehead lovingly. "You guys will be fine; I'm sure Ace is a good kid. I heard Ace is a good boy; he's also responsible," Chelsea replied with a simple smile.

Ace smiled at Chelsea; she didn't expect to get married all of a sudden to this crazy guy she just met a few days ago. What could be done?

"Excuse me, can I talk to Chelsea for a moment?" Ace asked politely, with a sweet smile on his face.

"Yes, you can chat first. I have to see a guest first," Monica replied, patting Ace's shoulder before leaving. She was a little calm, even though Ace was married to Chelsea. Because Ace was known to be kind, although sometimes cold and ignorant.

After Monica left, Ace pulled Chelsea's hand gently. "Come with me for a moment," she said while pulling Chelsea's wrist.

Chelsea rebelled against Ace's treatment, trying to release Ace's hand. "Let go of me! Why did you accept this marriage? Why didn't you refuse?" She said with annoyance.

Ace paused for a moment after taking Chelsea away from her family, released her hand grip, and then replied, "How could you refuse their orders? Didn't I tell you that you couldn't leave me?"

"But I don't want to marry you, Ace," Chelsea said pleadingly.

Ace let out a long sigh. "I know, I'm sorry, but you're destined to be mine," he said as he looked at Chelsea.

While Chelsea closed her eyes and said, "Whatever you say, I guarantee we'll be divorced soon,"

"Divorced?" Ace raised one eyebrow.

Chelsea nodded. She decided to divorce after a few months of marriage with Ace. Indeed, Chelsea still hoped that Jack would return.

"Alright, but I have one condition."

"What?" asked Chelsea with a frown.

"We'll divorce after Jack comes back; before that..." Ace stopped his words for a moment. She took Chelsea's hand and said, "Please give me a chance to make you fall in love with me."

Chelsea was silent; she didn't understand why Ace wanted to make her fall in love. Chelsea let go of Ace's hand. "Okay, that's up to you. But the point is, I don't want to be with you forever, Ace. Because I don't know you, and I even hate you." She said this while giving Ace a sharp look, then waltzed away from there, leaving Ace behind.

"We'll see. Will Jack come back?" Ace said while looking at Chelsea, who was slowly leaving.

As time passed, it was 23:00. The wedding had just ended, and all the invited guests had returned to their respective homes. Only the families of the bride and groom remained.

"Ace! Are you taking Chelsea to your own house after this or to ours?" asked Monica, who was sitting next to Chelsea.

"We'll go straight to my house," Ace replied while sipping a cup of coffee casually.

While Chelsea could only remain silent, her mind was only on Jack. Not knowing where her lover had gone, Chelsea's heart seemed numb. She couldn't accept the fact that Jack had left her for no reason.

"Chelsea? How about you?" Monica asked while turning her head towards Chelsea. While Chelsea remained silent, there was no answer from her.

"Chelsea?" Monica called while patting her daughter's shoulder.

Chelsea gasped, her reverie broken instantly. She turned to Monica with a confused look on her face. "What's wrong, Mom?" She asked while scratching her itchy nape.

Monica smiled; she knew exactly what Chelsea was feeling right now. But everything had already happened, right? There was no turning back. "Ace wants to take you to live in his own house, dear," she replied as she gently stroked the top of Chelsea's head.

Chelsea nodded slowly, forcing a smile. "Yeah, it's up to you guys."

After that brief conversation, silence returned. Before Adnan opened his voice again, "Ace! Looks like Chelsea is tired; you guys go home first," Adnan said.

Ace nodded and moved towards Chelsea; the two of them walked hand in hand towards the exit. He was followed by his family from behind. Arriving at the front, Chelsea and Ace said goodbye. Chelsea shed tears again while hugging her mother. For the sake of her father and mother, she was willing to sacrifice her heart and marry Ace.

"We'll say goodbye first," Ace said briefly before getting into the car. He was the type of man who was cold and didn't talk much.

"Be careful!"
