On the other hand, Ace was back to his activities at the office with a lot of work to do. Because a few days ago the vampires started targeting Chelsea, Ace was not calm about leaving the woman alone at home. Finally Ace forced Chelsea to come to the office, even though Chelsea initially refused and was stubborn. But the woman finally obeyed Ace's words.
"Ace! You promised to help me find Jack if I want to come to the office, right?" asked Chelsea, looking intimidating; she was now sitting on the sofa in Ace's room.
While Ace only glanced at Chelsea with a smile, then went back to doing his work again. This made Chelsea annoyed; the woman got up from her seat to approach Ace at the desk.
"Ace! Why are you so annoying? You told me first, if you promised me," Chelsea whined beside Ace.
Ace stopped his work; he turned to look at Chelsea, who was staring at him with a sharp gaze. Cute"—one word that could describe Chelsea at the moment. Ace couldn't stop smiling; it seemed she was already infatuated with her mate.
"What baby?" Ace pulled Chelsea's waist, hugging her without permission while smiling widely.
"Let go of me; don't mess with me, Ace!" Of course Chelsea rebelled; she still couldn't accept Ace suddenly becoming her husband.
Instead of getting angry, Ace laughed. Ace did not let go of his hug around Chelsea's waist, but he used his idle hand to pick up the paper bag on the table.
"Don't keep nagging; here's some food and snacks for you. You just rest on the sofa first; later I'll order a bed for you, so you'll be more comfortable next time you wait for me here," Ace explained at length while giving her the paper bag in her hand containing food and other Chelsea necessities.
Chelsea glared sharply as she said, "Next time? No, I won't. Just today, I want to come with you to the office."
"Is that so? What if I insist?" Ace smiled ignorantly; he tightened his embrace on Chelsea. With Ace sitting and Chelsea standing, making Ace's face touch Chelsea's stomach.
"Comfortable." Ace continued to rub his head against Chelsea's stomach, like a spoiled wolf.
While Chelsea actually felt uncomfortable with Ace's attitude, she rebelled, but her strength was not as great as Ace's. "Ace, let me go. Not like this; you really look like a dog," she said irritably.
"I'm a wolf, so pamper me every day," Ace replied with a chuckle.
"Don't get your hopes up!" said Chelsea sarcastically. "Ehh." Chelsea intended to let go of Ace's embrace, but instead she fell into the man's lap. Now the distance between them was quite close, even clinging.
"Can I mark you as mate?" asked Ace in a heavy voice.
"Huh?" Chelsea frowned, not understanding.
Ace was holding something back; yeah, Chelsea stepped on a forbidden area down there that could wake up at any time. Ace couldn't help herself; she leaned closer to Chelsea's face, about to press her lips to hers.
"Ace! What are you doing?" Stella's loud voice ruined the moment, as Chelsea immediately got up from Ace's lap.
"Tsk, so annoying." Ace grumbled while staring at Stella with a sharp gaze.
Stella approached Ace and Chelsea; she gave Chelsea a disapproving look. "What's she doing here this early in the morning?" she asked, looking at Chelsea sarcastically.
While Chelsea shrugged indifferently as she said, "Whatever, this is my husband's company."
"You better go home; if you're here, Ace's work will be disturbed," said Stella, who was already angry because of Chelsea's words earlier.
Chelsea paused for a moment, then said, "Okay, fine. I'm going home." Without waiting any longer, Chelsea was about to walk away. But Ace stopped Chelsea by pulling her hand until the woman fell into Ace's lap.
"No, Chelsea will accompany me here. I asked her to be here," Ace explained.
"See? Still want to nag again?" Chelsea raised one eyebrow; she smiled slightly. Yeah, Chelsea didn't mean anything; she just realized that Stella might like Ace or vice versa; that's why she wanted to upset Stella. After all, Chelsea wasn't the type of person who could be bullied or scolded at will; she would retaliate if she could.
While Stella was annoyed, her hands were clenched in emotion. "Ace, but..."
Before Stella could continue, Ace said, "That's enough, Stella; you better get out of here and take care of Pack Shadow from those vampires."
Stella's eyes turned yellow like a wolf's, a sign that she was angry and upset. Without saying anything else, Stella left there in a flash.
"Huh? Does that woman have powers? Why did she disappear so quickly?" asked Chelsea, who was still on Ace's lap.
"Stella's just like me; she's a she-wolf," Ace replied.
Chelsea frowned, for the life of her. All the creatures Ace mentioned were just fictional and made up in books, but Chelsea didn't think they were real.
"Never mind, don't think about it; you better accompany me to work now," continued Ace, who saw Chelsea was silent; he wrapped his arms around Chelsea's waist.
Instantly Chelsea glared sharply; she suddenly got up from Ace's lap while saying, "Don't expect!" After saying that, Chelsea stepped towards the sofa and sat there. She still gave Ace a sharp glare.
