"There's nothing to be afraid of." Natalie said softly. "He's gone now."
He was gone for now, but even after a week I still kept the same thought. There's no way a man like him just gives up on his obsession of me and moves on. He'll pop back up eventually and when he pops back up, the police will assist him away.
"Just have a little more hope." Natalie said, after I gave no response to her first comment towards me.
"Im absolutely, one hundred percent sure he'll be back." I said, basically waving off her attempts to calm me.
She was frustrated with my emotions. Of course, I'm hard to deal with emotionally. I believe it's stupid for a person to even try and help. But Natalie always did give great advice. I just wasn't having it from anyone today, I didn't even wanna go to class today. I wanted to stay to myself all day long.
"I'm going to class." I said as I stood up from her couch. "Thanks for everything sis."
"You want me to walk you to class?" Natalie offered, I declined. Like I said, I wanted to be alone.
I grabbed my bag and walked out her front door. I was already dressed, I didn't get any sleep last night. So I was exhausted to the point I felt like fainting at any minute. The week was long and hard to deal with. I don't know why I just can't keep Darion out of my mind.
"Hey, Rose?" The soft voice of the chocolate skinned, brown eyed, short girl came at me.
I didn't want to converse with anyone. I didn't even care for why she knew my name. I just wanted to walk pass her as if she didn't exist and call it a day, but she continued to walk with me and call my name.
"Yes, I'm Rose." I finally replied. "What's up?"
"Well I'm Jaylie." She offered me her hand, I looked at it.
"What's up Jaylie, I'm in a rush."
Jaylie didn't show much reaction to me declining to shake her hand. But after I said I was in a rush, she rolled her eyes. I could tell she knew that was a mistake, I could tell something was up. I wanted to know who exactly was this Jaylie character. The last person who just randomly approached me had an addiction to me, now she was the next to randomly pop up into my life.
"I just need advice." Jaylie said before I dismissed myself from this conversation. "I know your top in our class, so I-"
"Wait, your in my class?" I turned around and continued walking. "If you don't fucking walk and talk at the same time."
"Look, I'm human. You need to stop talking to me like I'm so animal, I don't care who you are or how your day is."
Now, I could tell what was strange about her. She was acting nice when she first approached. Sweet voice, pleasant attitude, nice gentle greeting. Now I pissed her off, she's showing her true colors. I smile, the first time that's happened in awhile.
"Your human?" I said looking her in the eye. "We're all human sweetheart, but there's always some difference. Always some gap, some segregation, some inequality. You sweetheart, let's face it are not on my damn level. That's exactly why you come to me for help."
She sighed, pretty damn heavily at that. I didn't exactly mean to go off like that, but it happened so oh well. But she handled it well, she kicked her little feet around and paused for a moment.
"You know what," she said with raised voice. "Let's just go to class."
I didn't expect that at all. She didn't come at me with disrespect as I did her. I wanted to see exactly how spiteful she is. But instead, I find us walking to class together.
"So your going to stop being a bitch and listen?" She said as we stepped into the school building.
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me loud and clear. You antagonize me and I'll certainly antagonize you."
"I love your attitude."
"I love your hair, but I'm not getting all lovey dovey and shit announcing it am I?"
I laughed and checked my phone for the time. We still had about twenty minutes before our class starts. So I stopped walking and offered Jaylie my hand, unexpectedly she just looked at it.
"Your unpredictable."
"Do you expect me to be predictable? How boring do you think I am?"
"Actually, I don't find you boring at all."
She chuckled. "You have absolutely no idea."
"What is it you need help with?"
"My case, it's difficult. It's my first. I'm confident the guy is guilty for killing the girl, but I'm just insecure of I can pin this down."
"How the hell can you be insecure? Your impression alone has genius written all over it." I shook my head slowly. "In class, your going to volunteer to answer questions. Not only are you going to answer them, but your going to answer them correctly."
"What if I don't know it?"
"Chances are, you know it. You wouldn't had made it this far if you were clueless. You'll see how smart you are when you answer everything."
"Yeah, we'll definitely see about that. Maybe I would answer more often if you shut your damn mouth for once."
I grabbed her hand and pulled her with me as I continued walking. We walked into the classroom together. I brought her with me into my usual seat, sitting her to my right side.
"He's back again." Jaylie said with a whisper.
"Who?" I knew the answer before I even lifted my head.
He was wearing casual clothing. His jeans were white, nobody wore white after Labor Day. Yet, Darion decided it was okay to wear it today. He was speaking to Ms. Schultz in a conversation. She must had invited him, I tried to lie to myself. No, he must had requested to come. Nobody can reject when Darion offers to come to your class.
"Alright," Jamie, Ms. Schultz assistant spoke. "Settle down and prepare for start of class. We've got business to talk about."
"I don't get it," I said softly to Jaylie. "What the hell does he have to do with us?"
"It's rich as fuck, isn't our goal to be rich as fuck?"
"Our goal is become lawyers."
"Well my goal is to make a mill, and feed my family."
"Hopefully you've achieve that goal.." He came to my class for a reason, he wanted to get through me.
I didn't speak again, I just watched. Jamie silenced the best room as the lights dimmed. The screen became the light of the room now. As the video began, Darion began his presentation with it.
"Welcome, my name is Darion Waters." He said loudly.
"Everyone knows who you are." A man behind me said softly.
"I wish I didn't." I added. Jaylie looked at me, so I knew she heard.
"Life is about erudition, about expanding your knowledge so you can reach higher goals. After you master something, you can show the world your true talent." Darion began. "My most talented possession, is expanding resources."
"He's talking about bullshit." I said rolling my eyes.
"He's rich as fuck." Jaylie said, for about the third time. "He can speak bullshit to you, but get away with it to others."
"The world always complains about why prices of certain items always increase? The answer is that the item you buying is decreasing." He touched the screen and flipped it to the next slot. "Therefore, we have to use something that's impossible to become extinct. Does anyone have any idea of what I'm speaking of?"
A few hands shot up, more hands went up when they noticed that I kept from answering. Jaylie questioned me, about why I didn't raise my hand. I ignored, I didn't want to be noticed. I wanted badly to vanish, to not be seen by anyone. But it seemed as if everyone was staring at me now for not raising my hand.
A few people got the answer incorrect. He continued to give hints and calling on different people. They also for the answer incorrect. I know Darion, I know his work. The answer is simple to me and if others stopped overthinking it, it would be simply to them as well.
"Ms. Castro." He looked up at me as he called my name. "Can you give me your best inference?"
"Atoms." I decided to push through my emotions. "Atoms are everlasting, because they're in everything in the planet."
"Of course!" He called out with excitement. "Give the most astute student in this school a round of applause everyone!"
His words were followed by the round of applause he requested. He clapped with them, so did our professor, and so did Jamie. I stood up and waved to the people clapping. The applause ended shortly after I sat back down.
I covered my face and lowered my head. Tears were filling my eyes, attempting to resist them from falling hurt me even more. I gave up on trying and allowed them to fall. I excused myself from the seminar.
After exiting, I went straight to the ladies room. Whenever I feel as if I'm on the brink of breaking down into tears, I look into the mirror and watch myself cry. Nobody loves me more than I love myself. Nobody can help me better than I can help myself.
"Rose, it's going to be okay. It's going to be okay Rose. Calm down." I talk to myself inside my head. "I'm calm." I reply aloud.
I wash off my face and step out the bathroom. He was there, standing with his arms crossed leaning against the wall. I nearly fainted from the view of him, how could he possibly be finished with the presentation that quickly. I pulled my cellphone and dialed Natalie
"Come to my first class, now." I said, the second she answered the phone call.
"Okay, I'm on my way."
"You finished quickly." I said softly.
"I didn't finish, my assistant will finish the presentation for me." He replied.
"Why did you come here?"
"Your not stupid, you know why. Use your brain sweetheart."
"Don't call me sweetheart."
"Leave with me, I could introduce you to the world Rose."
"Darion, just leave me alone."
"If I was willing to do that, I wouldn't had came here today."
"Just go!"
He grabbed me after I raised my voice. Fear seized my body as he slowly walked me back into the restroom. He closed and locked the door behind him. He bit his lip and gently took my hand in his.
"We did it once." I said softly. "We already fucked once. What else do you want from me?"
"I want everything from you." He leaned down to and mouthed. He kissed my ear after speaking and continued. "And I want to give you everything."
"Damn it-" I stopped myself from speaking.
I moaned my words out unexpectedly. He smiled as I stopped my sentence. I shouldn't had spoke, now he thinks I'm into him. But why did I moan? I couldn't control it, why couldn't I control it?
He kissed my neck, I tried speaking again. This time when I tried to say the word stop, it came out as yet another moan. He continued touching and kissing on me. I gripped his shirt tightly and pulled him closer.
My body didn't agree with my mind. My body wanted the same thing he gave me last week. It wanted him deep inside of me, while my mind wanted to escape from his life.
He grabbed my breast and squeezed them so softly. I moaned as I unbuttoned his pants. He had me trapped, I was too deep now. There wasn't any turning back, I had to finish.
I lifted his shirt and he finished taking it off. I touched him all over his abs and slowly up his chest. He took my pants off and I stepped on his feet as my ladder to his lips. I kissed him softly but bit his lip harder. After pulling my panties down he picked me up, I wrapped my legs around his waist.
"I need you." He whispered into my ears, then he slipped right inside of me. "Because I love you."
