After receiving Mark's approval, Angela sat closer to Eric, and Jessica sat on the other side, nearer to Mark.
"Hi, I'm Jessica," Jessica said with a shy smile.
"I'm Mark."
Since the other person introduced herself again, Mark responded politely as well.
"Mark, where are you from? Are you some kind of model?" Angela asked, curious.
Mark looked a bit embarrassed and replied, "I used to live in Brazil. I moved here recently. And no, I'm not a model!"
"Really?" Angela said.
"Angela, stop it. Can't you see our friend from Brazil is blushing?" Eric interrupted. At the same time, he changed the subject.
"So, Mark, why did you move to this small town?"
The girls perked up their ears to hear the answer. When they arrived today, they had only heard there was a new student this year—and that he was very handsome, not inferior to the Cullens.
After thinking for a moment, Mark replied, "I came to live with my dad!"
"What's Brazil like? Is it true that everyone's good at playing soccer?" Jessica asked.
Mark felt that the other person was looking at him in a strange way. Whether in this life or the previous one, Mark had always been bad at realizing when someone was flirting with him.
He ignored the strange gesture and replied jokingly, "Of course not. I happen to be very good. I don't know about the others."
Eric, Angela, and Jessica noticed the playful tone in his voice and laughed in response. From the way Mark answered, they realized he was very friendly.
And that's when another person appeared.
"Hey, guys, can I sit with you?"
"Sure, sit down," Eric replied. He looked at Mark and said, "This is Mike. Mike, this is Mark."
Mark looked at the newcomer and nodded in response.
"Mark, right? You're just as handsome as the rumors say!" Mike said, pulling up a chair to sit near Jessica.
"Rumors?" Mark was confused.
"You know, small town, new student. People talk," Angela said, gesturing toward the people around them who were looking in their direction.
Mark also noticed people staring at him, especially the women, but he wasn't good at socializing, so he hadn't met anyone yet.
But he didn't expect these people to be the ones to come talk to him. So lunch was very peaceful, and Mark got to know the group.
Unfortunately, he didn't see anyone from the Cullen family, but luckily, he learned that this was truly an alternate universe of Twilight.
After talking with the group, he learned that six members of the Cullen family studied here.
But since today was a sunny day, they skipped class, which made Mark notice a detail he had previously ignored.
Ever since he obtained the body of the Eucharist of Chaos, his memory had greatly improved; he could remember things from when he was just a baby.
Whether it was his ability to remember everything or his understanding, both had been greatly enhanced—and that improvement continued to evolve.
He used this to master all the high school content in advance, but he wasn't omnipotent, and he would always subconsciously overlook some details.
Although he always kept in mind the goal of figuring out whether this world had any connection to the Twilight universe...
He ended up ignoring the fact that Twilight vampires couldn't be exposed to sunlight because of their diamond-like skin.
In the movie, he thought the effect was very ugly, but he had already found the answers he wanted; he just wondered why there were six people instead of five.
After returning to afternoon classes, time passed quickly, and Mark went back home.
Today, his father had left a note saying he would be working the night shift and that Mark didn't need to wait for him.
Mark threw the note away and went back to his room. He only came out at night to make something to eat and then returned.
The night passed, and a new day arrived. Mark woke up early and got ready for school. He noticed his father still hadn't come home.
After having breakfast, he went to school. As soon as he got out of the car, he noticed the weather was cloudy today.
"Looks like I'll get to see the Cullens today," Mark thought and headed to his classroom.
Since it was still early and students were still arriving, Mark opened the book he had brought and decided to read once more.
He didn't even notice the figure who entered and sat beside him; it wasn't until the bell rang that Mark put down his book and looked around.
And he noticed a very beautiful woman sitting next to him; she was looking at him with a smile on her face.
Mark felt, for the first time, what it was like to fall in love at first sight. The figure saw Mark's stunned look and laughed before saying:
"Hi, I'm Edythe Cullen. What's your name?"
