Chapter 7 - Questions and Answers

William took Mark to a restaurant that serves very good food, and father and son had a very pleasant dinner.

When Mark returned home, it was already very late at night and he still had class in the morning.

So he decided to postpone using the door of myriad worlds for another day, preferably when he was alone.

He thought it would be better to find an isolated place to travel to other worlds; he already has an idea of which world he wants to visit first!

While thinking about his future adventures through the multiverse, Mark drifted into a deep sleep. When he opened his eyes, it was already early morning.

To be exact, he was awakened by his alarm clock, but for some reason, Mark woke up very happy today.

After getting dressed and having breakfast with his father, Mark took his car, the square-shaped Gol, and headed to school, humming a song from his previous life.

When he arrived at school, he parked his car in an empty spot. After getting out, he went straight to his classroom, but on the way, someone bumped into him and a voice spoke.

"Good morning."

That made Mark's heart beat faster; the owner of the voice was someone he had spent all of yesterday thinking about.

Although they had met just yesterday, Mark would never forget the voice of the girl he fell in love with at first sight.

He looked at her and saw her beautiful and tender face, and her characteristic playful smile.

"Good morning," Mark replied with a smile.

Thus, the two walked side by side in silence toward the classroom.

Yesterday, Mark hadn't paid much attention to Edythe's figure.

But looking now, both her body and face were perfect. Mark had never seen anyone so perfect.

After they both reached their seats, Mark said:

"Could you tell me a little about yourself?"

He was very curious about what kind of world he had ended up in, so he decided to clear up his doubts today.

Mark noticed that Edythe just looked at him without saying anything.

He wondered if he had been rude somehow and was about to speak to explain himself, but Edythe's voice came.

"Hehe... I can tell you! But what do I get in return?"

Mark looked at Edythe and thought for a moment before replying:

"What do you want in return?"

"Since you want to know things about me, I think it's fair that you tell me things about yourself. How about that?" Edythe said.

Mark didn't think it was difficult and nodded in agreement.

The smile on Edythe's face grew wider and her eyes became brighter, but Mark didn't notice.

"Let's do this: each of us asks one question about the other, okay?" Edythe suggested.

"Alright, who goes first?" Mark said.

"I'll start. What are your parents' names?" Edythe asked.

"William Sanchez and Sara Abreu," Mark replied, and after a pause, he continued:

"Now it's my turn. I heard you were adopted by the Cullen family, along with five other people. What are their names?"

Edythe thought for a moment before answering:

"Edward Cullen, Alice Cullen, Emment Cullen, Rosalie Hale, and Jasper Hale!"

"Why are Jasper and Rosalie called Hale instead of Cullen?"

Of course, Mark knew, but he pretended not to and raised the question.

"No, no, each person can only ask one question at a time," Edythe interrupted, shaking her finger in denial.

"You're right. What's your question?" Mark pretended to give in.

At that moment, the bell rang, signaling the start of classes, but throughout the morning, Edythe and Mark got to know each other better through this one-question-at-a-time method.

Things were exactly as he remembered from his previous life, but in this world, Edythe and Edward were biological siblings.

Twins, to be exact, which made Mark marvel at the variety of the multiverse.

It also made Mark's heart feel lighter, now that he was in love with Edythe. He had feared that a Beau Swan might appear and steal his beloved.

At lunchtime, the two stayed together, which made everyone look at them. Mark finally saw the missing Cullens.

Their appearance resembled that of the actors from the movie, but they were all very beautiful.

But there was someone who made Mark uncomfortable—Edward, who kept looking at him as if he owed him money.

Edythe just laughed at the situation and told Mark to ignore him; only she knew the reason.

Because, like her, Edward could read the minds of anyone, but Mark was the first person whose thoughts she couldn't read.

That's why she approached him. At first, she was curious about why she couldn't read Mark's mind, but when she got closer, she discovered that Mark had no scent.

If it weren't for her, looking at him now, right in front of her, she would have wondered if he was some kind of ghost.

Because all living beings have a certain scent—even the dead have a scent—except Mark!

Of course, all of this is thanks to the body of the Eucharist of Chaos, but Mark still didn't know that.

And even if he finds out someday, he won't care.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" Edythe asked; it was her turn to ask a question.

Mark was caught off guard by the question and almost spat out a mouthful of juice he had just swallowed.

He looked at the other person and saw that Edythe was still looking at him with that same playful smile.

(No matter how hard I try, I just don't feel like this chapter turned out well. That's why it came out so late.

Here in Brazil, it's already past midnight — 12:10 AM, to be exact.

I managed to post two chapters of the Avatar romance, and I wanted to post two chapters of the Twilight romance as well.

But unfortunately, I couldn't write anything good. Of the two chapters I had planned for today, one ended up going down the drain.

That's all for today. Until next time...)
