Chapter 6 - Gate of Myriads of Worlds

While Mark was trying to enjoy his lunch, his new friends kept teasing him about his relationship with Edythe that morning.

For some reason, Mark didn't see Edythe or the other members of her family, and he couldn't figure out what kind of parallel universe he had ended up in.

Holding back his curiosity, he returned to the classroom.

Unfortunately, in the afternoon classes, Edythe wasn't in the same subject as him.

That left Mark a bit distracted, as he had hoped to see her during the afternoon.

Time passed slowly, and when classes finally ended, Mark didn't find her on the way out, which made him feel a little lonely.

After returning home, Mark walked in and saw that his father was home today.

William, who was watching TV, noticed his son had come back from school and asked with a concerned tone:

"Son, how were your classes? Are you getting used to the new life?"

"Hi, Dad, it was good. Everything's fine!" Mark replied.

William noticed his son seemed a bit distracted and thought maybe he was tired from school.

So he asked one last question:

"How about the two of us go out for dinner tonight?"

"Sure, that would be great," Mark replied after thinking for a moment.

"Great, I know a really good restaurant. I think you'll like the food there." As he said that, William kept watching TV with a happy smile on his face.

Mark realized his father had nothing else to say, so he went up to his room, tossed his backpack aside, and threw himself onto the bed.

But in his mind, Edythe's image kept appearing from time to time, leaving him dazed.

He opened the system shop and started browsing; he wanted to distract his mind and focus on something else.

While looking through the variety of items, skills, and cheats in his system, Mark found something that caught his attention.

[Gate of Myriads of Worlds]

[Description: a gate that opens to infinite worlds. Allows the host to travel through the endless multiverse. Important warning: caution is essential. Infinite universes contain infinite dangers.]

[Note: indestructible, cannot be stolen or looted. Automatically recognizes its master. More information available only after becoming the owner of the Gate of Myriads of Worlds.]

[Price: 10 quintillion]

"Wow... could this be some kind of hint? Something's telling me to travel through the multiverse," Mark murmured.

The price didn't matter to someone with unlimited points; he quickly purchased it and felt information flood into his mind.

[DING! Congratulations on becoming the sole master of the Gate of Myriads of Worlds.]

The prompt that appeared was different from his usual system prompt.

Mark felt a bit surprised, but things didn't stop there.

[As the owner of the Gate of Myriads of Worlds, you receive maximum authority.]

[You receive your own private dimension! In your dimension, you become an omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent god.]

[Other people cannot access your dimension without passing through the Gate of Myriads of Worlds.]

[And no one can pass through your gate without your permission, regardless of the other party's strength or level.]

[Other effects may be discovered on your own.]

With the final prompt, a surge of information entered Mark's mind, and he understood how to use the Gate of Myriads of Worlds.

But the bonus of receiving his own dimension was unexpected.

According to the information, the current state of the dimension was chaotic for now, and the only way to enter it was through the Gate of Myriads of Worlds.

Although he would become all-powerful in his own dimension, it was a shame that this only applied within that space.

The upside was that if the enemy was too strong, Mark could simply enter his dimension and let the enemy follow him in—then he could easily defeat them.

Because no matter how strong the other party was, in his private dimension, they had to bow to his rules.

"This really gets me excited. According to the information, I can create life in my dimension," Mark said, feeling very happy.

"At first, I thought the gate was just some kind of powerful artifact, but I didn't expect it to also be a kind of summoning ability!" Mark murmured.

If it weren't for his system, it would be nearly impossible for someone to become the owner of the Gate of Myriads of Worlds.

After organizing his thoughts, Mark got up from the bed, excited to try using the gate, but at that moment, he heard a knock at the door that interrupted him.

"Son, are you awake? Can I come in?" William's voice came from behind the door.

Mark suppressed his excitement, looked out the window, and realized it was already night.

When he saw the time, his eyes widened in surprise.

He hadn't expected time to pass so quickly; he rushed to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, William noticed his son seemed a bit more cheerful than when he had arrived.

He looked into the room and didn't see anything wrong before saying:

"Are you ready? Can we go have dinner now?"

Mark noticed his father's look and didn't mind—he hadn't done anything wrong—and replied:

"Sure, let's go."

And so, father and son went out for dinner, and Mark could only hope to find time later to test the Gate of Myriads of Worlds.
