Chapter 2 - Forks

The plane Mark was on landed at Quillayute Airport at noon.

After getting off the plane and picking up his luggage, Mark met his father, William, at the exit.

Even in a different life, his father looked the same — but in this world, their relationship seemed a bit strange.

"Are you really my son, Mark?" William was confused by the handsome teenager standing in front of him.

He wasn't just handsome — he was really handsome. William took the photo sent by his ex-wife and looked at Mark several times until he was convinced it was him.

Mark could only laugh helplessly at the situation.

Before the plane landed, Mark had made a few purchases from the system store, and his appearance had changed drastically. Although he could still recognize himself, the degree of adjustment was quite significant.

To be honest, he hadn't expected such a dramatic transformation from a single physical constitution.

As a fan of online novels, he was familiar with many powerful physiques. The one he acquired was the Chaos Eucharist Body. According to the information, this is the same special physical constitution attributed to Pangu, from Chinese mythology.

The reason he chose this particular physique among many others was that it didn't require training or cultivation.

Why? Because the Eucharist Body generates energy on its own. With every passing second, the energy in his body grows stronger, and so does he.

It's no exaggeration to say that he could now be considered a version of Captain America.

If there's any difference between him and Captain America, it's that Mark might be slightly stronger — and bladed weapons, like knives, can't pierce his skin.

Weak firearms like pistols can still hurt him, but it's only a matter of time before his body becomes resistant even to Barret shots or atomic bombs.

After putting his suitcase in the car, Mark sat in the passenger seat and closed his eyes.

On the surface, he looked like he was resting, but in reality, he was browsing the system store.

William noticed but didn't disturb his son. During the entire drive, he kept thinking of ways to reconnect with Mark.

Ever since he separated from his ex-wife, he hadn't seen his son. It wasn't until a few months ago that his ex-wife decided to send Mark to live with him for a while.

Meanwhile, Mark was searching for skills to acquire. Even though he could have anything, he understood the basic principle: never bite off more than you can chew.

So far, he had only purchased the Chaos Eucharist Body.

Throughout the trip, Mark made many purchases from the store, and his strength increased significantly. Feeling three different types of energy flowing through his body, he felt truly happy.

Mark had been a bit worried that his body wouldn't be able to handle multiple energy systems, but everything was working naturally.

It was as if he had been born with these three types of energy: spiritual Qi, mana, and chakra.

All of them flowed in perfect harmony within him. Mark was thrilled and continued shopping in the store.

But at that moment, his father's voice pulled him out of his little world.

"Son, we're here!" William nudged Mark's shoulder to wake him.

Mark opened his eyes and noticed the car had already stopped in front of a two-story house.

He closed the system window — which only he could see — and replied, "Alright."

As he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car, William helped move the luggage to the storage area.

"I prepared this room for you. Since it was all so sudden, I didn't have time to do much," William said, a bit embarrassed.

Mark gave a sincere smile and said, "It's more than enough. Thank you, Dad!"

When William heard his son call him "Dad," he felt a rush of emotion and realized he should try to bond with the son he hadn't seen in years.

"If you need anything, just let me know and I'll take care of it.

Also, I've already sorted out your school enrollment — classes start next week!

I bought a second-hand car for you to get to school. Do you have a license?" William said all at once.

Realizing he might have said too much, he looked slightly embarrassed.

Mark hadn't expected to see his father act this way, but he smiled and replied, "I understand. Thanks for all the effort. I got my license before moving in with you."

After that, Mark unpacked his things with his father's help. By the time they finished, it was already evening.

They decided to go out for dinner, and so began Mark's first day in Forks.
