"A bunch of useless people! You lost track of a child! If you can't find the young master, don't bother coming back!"
Old Master Hawthorne was fuming with anger. The Hawthorne Family was in the spotlight now, with many people watching like hawks. If Twinkle were to be kidnapped by a rival, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Butler Forbes had no choice but to call the Fourth Young Master and send him the location where the young master disappeared.
Jason Hawthorne, who was on a business trip in Port Sovereign, instantly turned icy at the news. He'd only been away for two days, and the servants had already lost Twinkle!
He took out his phone and called his assistant Mason Cross. "Twinkle is missing. I'm sending you his last known location. Contact the police and start checking the surrounding CCTV footage immediately. Inform me at once if there's any update."
Mason nodded, understanding perfectly, "Don't worry, BOSS, I will definitely find the young master."
He was well aware of how important the young master was to the BOSS. To have him go missing at such a critical time was truly nerve-wracking.
Talking about the young master, on the surface, he seemed sweet and adorable, but in truth, he was so shrewd that you'd never guess he was less than five years old. That high intelligence was definitely inherited from the BOSS's impeccable genes!
As for another part of him, that must be inherited from his... biological mother, presumably.
In the hospital.
In the corridor outside the office of Dr. Oscar Linden, the pediatric chief.
Nina Pierce pulled her friend Laura Quincy aside and asked in a hushed voice, "Be honest, who is that little boy to you?"
Laura rolled her eyes helplessly, "Didn't I tell you it was just an accidental bump?"
Nina was incredulous, "Then why do some of his micro-expressions resemble yours so much? Look at his nose, those eyebrows, they're too much like yours, and..."
"Stop!"
Laura hurriedly interrupted her friend, her beautiful phoenix eyes half-narrowed, "You don't suspect he's my love child, do you?"
Nina snorted, "Who knows?"
Laura, with a flair, tossed her chestnut-dyed wavy hair, her red lips slightly curved, "I actually wish I had a love child this big; it would save me the trouble of finding someone to marry."
Hearing this, Nina knew she had guessed wrong. She and Laura had known each other since kindergarten and shared a genuinely trustworthy revolutionary friendship. They understood each other with just a mere glance...
"But I still think..."
Before she could finish, Dr. Linden and Justin Hawthorne walked out together.
"The examination results show no issues. His right leg might have scraped against the car, but there's no internal injury or bruising. Apply some ointment, and it should recover in a couple of days."
"Thank you, Dr. Linden."
"As parents, you should be more cautious when your child crosses the road. This time it's no big deal, but who knows about next time."
Evidently, Dr. Linden mistook Laura for Justin Hawthorne's mom. Just as Laura was about to explain, Nina chimed in, "Got it, thanks! We'll be off then!"
Justin Hawthorne's glossy black eyes darted around. Actually, having this sister as his mom wouldn't be so bad!
Initially, Laura thought she'd be able to take Mars back home after confirming he was okay at the hospital. But he didn't want to go home; instead, he wanted to stay at her place for a few days.
She was dumbfounded at the moment...
Was this little brat really not here to cause her trouble?
Laura owned an apartment in Orchid Gardens at the south of the city, one of the properties left to her by her mother. Now, the old Quincy Family house and company were entirely occupied by her father and Ruth Leighton's mother-daughter pair. This apartment was the only thing she had managed to secure through a lawyer.
