Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Moving Into Her Home

Thinking about it, she felt a chill...

Swiping the card, opening the door and entering the room, Laura helped Mars find a smaller pair of disposable slippers, "Not many people usually come to my place, you'll have to make do."

Justin Hawthorne glanced around her apartment, his voice soft and cute, "Sister, do you live alone?"

Laura nodded, "Yes."

A glimmer of light flashed in Justin's big, grape-like eyes, "Then you don't have a boyfriend, do you?"

Laura curled up on the sofa, peeled a grape and popped it into her mouth, "Wrong, sister has a boyfriend."

As she was saying this, her phone alert tone sounded.

Laura, I can't make it back tonight to be with you, there's a really important summit in these days, very busy. When I return, I'll make it up to you.

Seeing this message, Laura felt a slight sense of loss. She and Jasper Hawthorne had been dating for over a year now, both very busy, rarely together. Normally, she wasn't a clingy girlfriend, but she had been to several company interviews in the past week and felt a bit tired, hoping her boyfriend could be by her side, care for her...

Her fingers flipped through the phone, a simple word: Okay.

She put down the phone and picked up an orange, just about to peel it when Mars, with his soft, pitiful voice, said, "Sister, I'm hungry."

Moreover, he blinked his moist big eyes at her, really... impossible to refuse.

She had gotten used to eating fruits at night to maintain her figure, but tonight was different, there was a little one in the house!

Thinking of this, she resignedly headed to the kitchen, not a grain of rice in sight. Opening the fridge, it was almost all yogurt, milk, mineral water, soda water, vitamin water, and other healthy drinks...

And in the freezer, there was fortunately leftover frozen dumplings and milky buns she had bought before.

She turned and asked, "Dumplings or buns?"

Justin saw that she didn't have anything else either, he could only pout, "Buns, and egg drop soup!"

He saw there were eggs.

Laura rubbed her forehead, quite a decisive kid, huh!

Fifteen minutes later.

Justin looked at the unappetizing egg drop soup in front of him, reluctantly took a sip, in his heart full of criticism of Laura's cooking skills, sigh! If only he had gone home to drink Mrs. Miller's soup.

After the meal, Justin occupied the TV watching Animal World, while Laura practiced yoga nearby, the big and small occasionally chatting.

"Mars, it's late, are you sure you don't want to call your parents?"

"No! Daddy is rarely home, and when he is, he doesn't talk to me, just gets mad at me, I don't want to see him!"

Justin complained with a pout. In his memory, Daddy is always busy, rarely seen more than a few times a month, and last time he asked where mommy was, he got mad at him!

Humph! Don't want to see him!

Laura glanced at Mars' aggrieved little face, couldn't help but feel sorry for him, having such a dad is really pitiful...

Meanwhile, at The Hawthorne Estate, dark clouds had long gathered ominously. Unable to find the young master, the servants were anxious, and Fourth Young Master Jason Hawthorne had rushed back overnight from Port Sovereign. The police still had no concrete news, some surveillance footage in certain areas was malfunctioning, making the search very tiring.

Since he knew his son went missing, Jason Hawthorne's face was like an ice block, everyone who saw it felt cold.
