Core Concepts of the World
This chapter may contain major spoilers, as it will serve as a reference point and reveal the deeper mechanics that govern the growth of characters in the novel.
The System
The System is the core mechanic that governs the growth, evolution, and abilities of both the main character and certain side characters. It acts as an unseen force that tracks progress, unlocks potential, and guides growth.
The System includes the following features:
Status Window: Displays the following information—
Name
Level
HP (Health Points) & MP (Mana Points)
Stats (Strength, Agility, Intelligence, Endurance, etc.)
Skills & Abilities
Achievements & Titles
System Ranks:
Progression through the system is marked by ranks:
Novice
Awakened
Advanced
Master
Champion
Skyborne Avatar
Origin Traits
A unique feature of the system lies in Origin Traits.
These are hidden powers bound to a person's very soul.
Origin Traits awaken rarely, often under extreme emotional pressure or life-threatening situations.
They grow alongside the user, sometimes mutating into powers that surpass conventional skills.
Example: Someone born with the "Shadow Vein" trait may initially only see in darkness—but with growth, they might eventually step into shadows and travel through them.
Aura
Aura is the manifestation of life energy.
Only those capable of gathering and accumulating aura may wield it.
However, aura has a major limitation: without an Inner World, aura cannot reach its true potential.
Inner World
The Inner World is not tied to the system, but to the soul and mind of the individual.
It is a subspace born from a person's deepest emotions and memories.
As it expands, so does the user's power.
The Inner World allows connections to ancient beings—such as gods, mythical beasts, or primordial entities.
At higher stages, the user can project their Inner World into reality, creating a personal subspace they can manipulate.
Possibilities of the Inner World:
Growth is nearly infinite, depending on creativity, willpower, and emotional depth.
Expansion grants unique abilities, divine insights, and even pacts with higher beings.
Inner World Ranks (independent from the system):
Mortal
Adept
Expert
Highlord / Warlord / Archmage
Legendary
Ascendant
Inherit
Inherit refers to ancestral powers passed down through pure bloodlines.
Only those of true lineage can fully unlock inherited powers.
These powers often manifest as two or more Transcended Abilities.
Example: A warrior with an ancestral Inherit might find that while they excel with the sword, their true inheritance lies in destructive storm magic.
Transcended Abilities
These are the pinnacle of an individual's unique gifts—powers that defy natural law.
Transcended Abilities are deeply personal and tied to one's essence.
They grow stronger as the individual themselves evolves.
Examples:
Control over fire, shadows, or time
The ability to manipulate causality or fate
Summoning ancient beings tied to the user's Inner World
Resonance Events:
Sometimes, the system and Inner World resonate.
This creates a "Resonance Breakthrough," where the user's Origin Trait evolves or their Inner World rapidly expands.
Soul Marks:
Gods or mythical beings can brand a soul with a mark.
A Soul Mark grants special powers, but the character risks being influenced—or controlled—by the being that branded them.
Corruption Path:
Growth is not always pure. Exposure to forbidden powers (ancient curses, abyssal entities, or unstable aura) can mutate a person into something monstrous.
The strongest champions sometimes fall because their path twisted into corruption.
Fated Duel Law:
When two beings of similar growth clash, fate enforces a "Duel Law," amplifying their powers to ensure a decisive battle. These duels leave scars on the world itself.
