Chapter 15 - I Understand Again

"Teleportation Gate."

Demiurge walked out with elegant steps, bowed, and then looked indifferently at the members of the Sunlight Scripture.

"Sir Sig, these are the humans you want to take, right?"

Sig asked in confusion, "Demiurge, why are you here?"

"How could these lowly creatures be personally escorted by Sir Sig? If I hadn't stopped her, Albedo might have come even if it meant disobeying orders," Demiurge said helplessly.

When he told Albedo about this alone, she let out a rather frantic scream, and he also thought that this matter was somewhat improper, perhaps with a deeper meaning.

Could it be that this group of humans is of great use?

Sir Sig must have his reasons for doing things, and I must quickly think of a reason, I absolutely cannot disappoint him.

With this thought, Demiurge rushed over.

"Albedo… right, thanks for the reminder."

Sig almost forgot about this. Thanks to Demiurge's reminder, he once again understood the status of humans in Nazarick.

Even if he had the idea of using these people and thought that it wouldn't matter if they suffered torture, he still regarded humans as creatures not much different from him.

Demiurge, on the other hand, referred to them as lowly creatures, only slightly higher than livestock.

"Sir Silver Knight, is this also your companion?"

Nigen was truly stunned at this moment, barely managing to speak. His subordinates could only stand rooted to the spot with shaky legs, concentrating all their energy to keep from falling to the ground.

Pointed ears, a metallic tail, can they still be considered human? Perhaps they are demi-humans, but what does 'lowly creatures' mean?

Too many questions filled his mind, causing his brain, already deep in fear, to almost crash.

Demiurge frowned, and an arcane word was uttered from his mouth, "Kneel! Shut up!"

He pushed his glasses up, a flash of light in his eyes, "How dare mere humans interrupt? Can't you even maintain a respectful posture? You should all thank Sir Sig's mercy for preserving your lives."

Seeing that their spines were about to be crushed, Sig spoke up, "Stop, Demiurge, don't kill them. They are still useful."

"Yes!" Demiurge also realized that he had been affected by anger. Humans were too weak to withstand such powerful pressure.

He issued two more commands, and the few individuals passed through the teleportation gate like zombies, quickly disappearing from sight.

"Sir Sig, I wanted to ask, why do they call you Silver Knight?" Demiurge suddenly asked as one foot stepped into the teleportation gate.

Sig casually hummed in response, saying without turning his head, "Oh, they mistook me for someone else."

"I see, I understand." Demiurge showed a confident smile, and his entire body merged into the vortex of the teleportation gate.

Only after the teleportation gate closed did Sig react.

Wait, Demiurge, what did you understand again?

Sig transformed into his human form and, feeling depressed, arrived at Karn Village. As soon as he entered the village, he found that everyone was looking at him with wary eyes.

It was normal for people who had just been massacred by knights to react this way; their eyes held more fear.

At this moment, a pair of sisters caught his attention. The older-looking girl had a chest-length braid, her hair was a common brown, and her skin was a healthy wheat color.

She was currently comforting her younger sister, holding the smaller girl in her arms, and both pairs of eyes were secretly peeking at him.

"Who are you?" Finally, someone asked.

Sig took off his helmet, walked up to the two girls, revealed a gentle smile, and softly said, "It's alright now. My companion is Ainz Ooal Gown. Is he here?"

The girl nodded blankly. She had never seen such a handsome man; even nobles didn't possess such looks. For a moment, she forgot her fear, and a blush appeared on her face.

The handsome man's skin was flawless, and she had never seen such beautiful eyes; they seemed to speak.

At this moment, a troubled expression appeared on his handsome face, "My name is Sigris Helausvaerger. What is your name?"

"Anri Emmot! You can just call me Anri!"

"Then Anri, could you please take me to find my companion?" Seeing that his kind attitude had worked, Sig continued.

Anri looked down at her sister and shook her head, "That person is at the village house, the closest house to the square. There's an open space in front of the door. Oh, the square is that biggest open space where we all do farm work."

Although she really wanted to talk more with the handsome man in front of her, her frightened sister was more important. As a village girl, she couldn't think too much.

"I see. Still, thank you for showing me the way. If you don't mind, please accept this."

Sig handed her two horns, "These are the Horns of the Goblin General, which can summon goblins to protect you."

"This… it's too precious, and I haven't really helped much!"

Anri was truly blushing with shame now. How could she accept a gift after being so negligent towards the companion of the person who saved their village?

"Just take it. You deserve it. If you want to thank someone, thank my companion, Ainz Ooal Gown. He was the one who wholeheartedly wanted to save your village."

Sig explained with a smile and then walked towards the village chief's house, not giving Anri another chance to refuse.

He had a good impression of this simple girl. If she lost what she deserved because of his interference, anyone would feel uneasy, right?

After knocking, a middle-aged farm woman opened the door. After seeing his appearance, her voice rose a few octaves, and what she said sounded more like an exclamation than a question.

"Are you Sir Ainz's companion?"

Sig nodded, showing a proper smile.

For a socialite, knowing what expression to show when is also something that can be controlled.

The village chief's wife couldn't help but exclaim, "I didn't expect him to be such a handsome man."

The village chief quickly said, "Dear, you are too rude. Please come in quickly."

Sig walked up to Flying Squirrel… no, he should be called Ainz now, but this doesn't affect the daily address.

In Nazarick, he's called Guildmaster, but outside, he's called Ainz, like everyone else.

"Guild… Ainz, everything is done, and it went smoothly."

Uh, it just slipped out.

Although Ainz really wanted to complain about the address "Guild Ainz," he held back in front of outsiders.

"Cough, we are discussing the reward."

The village chief nodded.

Sig understood Ainz's intention when he saw the map on the table. After exchanging glances with him, he spoke.

"I've discovered a group of soldiers approaching here. Should we prepare a defense?"

The village chief's face instantly turned pale with fright.

Watching the people pacing anxiously, Ainz whispered, "Is it okay to say that? If I didn't know you, I'd almost think you were a mischievous fellow who just likes to tease others."

Sig smiled, "How could that be?"
