"This isn't the place to talk. Let's go to my place to chat, but my companion is also there. Do you mind?" Sig asked considerately.
As an experienced member of society, if he didn't appear sincere, the transaction wouldn't easily succeed.
Faced with such thoughtfulness, Clementine couldn't manage a smile at all. She forced a smile from the corner of her mouth, "Okay, I don't mind."
He was surprisingly much more pleasing to the eye than before, though it was truly unaccustomed not to see that comical smile.
Sig noticed that her body was still very stiff. Considering it was likely due to fear, he immediately transformed into his human form.
It's worth noting that the transformation of form didn't involve any uncomfortable visual changes; it was completed in an instant, much like in a game.
"Do you need to change your clothes?"
If she appeared on the street dressed like that, even a beautiful woman with a hot figure would be considered a pervert.
Clementine picked up her black robe and draped it over herself, "Thank you, this is enough."
Sig was somewhat surprised by Clementine's cooperative attitude, but he didn't say anything.
In fact, by putting himself in her shoes, he knew that in the face of life, no one would care about that pitiful bit of self-esteem.
Clementine wasn't a fool. The other party had the power to kill her at any time, yet he politely expressed a desire to talk, which meant she still had some use.
No matter what, she had to agree.
With heavy steps, the two walked into the "Shimmering Gold Hall" one after the other.
Upon seeing Clementine's appearance, the innkeeper understood.
"Young man, you're quite the player!"
Although not as good as that young lady, such an appearance was extremely rare in E-Rantel.
The surrounding customers were also glancing over, looking gossipy.
However, a person so engrossed in feminine beauty made one wonder if he could truly protect that beautiful and unruly young lady.
The butler was naturally ignored; although he looked sturdy, he was already so old that he couldn't be considered a combatant.
It would be strange if such a worrying combination, who also hired such an unreliable coachman, didn't run into trouble.
In the corner of the restaurant, the person frantically shoveling food into his mouth was Zack. He was out of place here, drawing many disgusted glances.
But Sig hadn't given him a single glance since entering, which made Zack harbor even greater resentment towards this person who ignored him, just waiting to settle all scores, old and new.
Clementine disliked this atmosphere intensely, but she dared not act out, merely clenching her fists.
Sig noticed the subtle change and, after going upstairs, explained, "My apologies, I didn't explain because I was maintaining my persona. Humans can indeed be annoying sometimes."
Clementine already knew that Sig was not human. She asked curiously, "Does that mean Ilay is also a pseudonym?"
Sig smiled without speaking.
Clementine immediately closed her mouth and lowered her head to avoid eye contact.
Damn it, why did she ask such a basic question!
Sig opened the door and gestured, "Come in."
"Greetings, Lord Ilay." The two people inside knelt and bowed.
Sig waved his hand, accustomed to the gesture, then turned to Sebas, giving him an approving look.
He had been prepared to hear them call him "Lord Sig" as soon as he opened the door, but Sebas had clearly listened to his words, and even conveyed them to Solution.
If it had been like that, he would have been troubled, but now he felt pleasantly surprised.
"Well done, Sebas."
Sebas revealed a hearty smile, "Thank you for your praise, Lord Ilay!"
Seeing Sebas's genuine smile, Sig also praised Solution.
"Your acting is also commendable, Solution. I'm very glad it was you who carried out this mission."
Solution said in a somewhat flat tone, "To receive praise from Lord Ilay is my greatest honor."
"Alright, since we are in the disguise phase, you don't need to be so tense. You can be a bit more at ease."
Sig was an old acquaintance with Sebas, but his understanding of Solution was limited to what she liked to eat; he knew nothing about her personality. This was not a qualified superior, at least she could relax a bit in front of him.
Solution stood up, as if unable to control her expression, her mouth stretched into an incredible angle.
"Lord Ilay need not worry; I will do my best to use all my acting skills and ensure no mistakes are made."
Although it looked a bit terrifying, Sig knew this was a smile, and he easily accepted this premise, even feeling a bit relieved.
Only when excited would Solution react this way, which meant she was truly happy.
"Lord Ilay, this is…?"
As Sebas asked, everyone's gaze focused on Clementine.
"Although she looks somewhat useful, as a servant, she's still lacking," Solution showed a perplexed expression.
Sebas was also very puzzled, but he held back from showing it.
If it were Demiurge, he might have already guessed Lord Sig's meaning. While feeling a sense of frustration, he also felt he shouldn't speak casually, lest he say the wrong thing.
"I'm very sorry, this is not food for you, Solution."
Sig introduced, "This is Ms. Clementine. I plan to make a deal with her, and we are still in the discussion phase."
The two gasped, and their gazes towards Clementine clearly became more oppressive.
One was a level 100 Dragonoid, and the other was a nearly level 60 Slime. Neither was something a level 30 human hero could withstand.
In reality, Clementine had been disoriented since entering this door. The powerful oppressive feeling reminded her of her darkest days.
Caught after a failed mission, she endured inhumane treatment, with healing magic applied repeatedly, only to be tortured again.
Because of her good physical constitution, this cycle was always very long.
Enjoying the convenience of healing magic, one naturally had to pay a price in other ways.
At that time, it was the glory of her family and the sense of belonging to her homeland that made her persevere, but now, she did not possess such a strong will.
Sig stood in front of Clementine, taking on some of the pressure for her. Although he didn't feel it, his eyes weren't just for show.
"Lord Ilay, I am willing to become your servant! I will agree to any kind of transaction!"
Clementine knelt with a thud, the metal pieces on her body clattering.
Solution and Sebas showed expressions that said "you're smart," then averted their gaze.
Sig felt somewhat unfulfilled with this outcome; he had originally intended to use his eloquence, but he hadn't expected it to end so quickly.
"Are you sure you want to pledge allegiance to me, Clementine?"
Clementine quickly nodded, "Yes, after witnessing Lord Ilay's immense power, my heart is filled only with the desire to submit."
"Alright, but what I originally intended to give you remains unchanged. You can rest assured about that. Look forward to it; you will become a genius surpassing your brother."
Sig painted a promising picture, and Clementine naturally accepted it gladly. She felt that a person like a god had no need to deceive her.
"Master, what do you need me to do?"
"Well, that actually depends on what you have. Show me everything you possess, Clementine."
"Yes!"
Clementine's pupils trembled as if she had undergone a huge internal struggle. She slowly untied her outer robe, then prepared to take off the clothes underneath.
Sig quickly averted his face, "No, no, I meant for you to introduce yourself. You don't need to go to such lengths."
Sebas quickly stepped in front, "Lord Ilay, please hide behind me. She is truly too disrespectful!"
Solution was also filled with righteous indignation, "That lord is not someone a woman like you can accompany!"
The noisy sounds made Sig feel a headache coming on. Luckily, Albedo wasn't present, or it might have gotten even more out of control.
