The duo were surrounded by the suits of armors
"We've been waiting for you, young lions." A melodious feminine voice echoed from the whip holding suit
A stern one voice from the sword wielder commanded, "End it."
"You…you tried to hurt Alex…" Violet mumbled "You won't get away with that!"
Violet and her family were forced to move because an experiment went wrong. Her friends who ended up in the ICU...yet she was unscathed…if only she had…
"It's hurts... must have hurt so much…" Violet cried in thought
She didn't care no one asked her what happened nor if her experiment worked. The only friends who stuck with an oddball like her were in pain and she didn't know what to do.
Thousands of petals spiraled the room... it wouldn't be possible with her tiny core. So prioritize quantity over quality. Violet's body screamed from overuse as the petals sharpen and attack the amour. This time, not matter the cost, she's save her friend
"DEAL WITH THE GIRL!" The sword wielder ordered
Alexander frowned, "Not on my watch."
He turned the external ether in front of him into a thick white clouds blind sighting the armor while making seven inches icicles. The fist fighter forced itself through the clouds and petals to deliver a deadly blow to his left side. The armor froze due to the clouds and was cut by the petals. Alexander pulled them into the nearest corner propelled the icicles toward the fist fighting amour and the rest to fend off the spear holder.
Ice clashed with metal, spark flew by and the enemy pushed back for a moment. Without a core, Alexander had to suck it in ever moment he got and his once calm breezy ether became a raging typhoon.
Alexander adjusted the clinging Violet to allow her to grip on like a koala.
"This is going to hurt." He announced
He created a frozen thin layer over the wound fearing that fully freezing the blood would cause hypothermia. It will act as compression and slow down the blood loss by constricting the blood vessels in that area. Downside, it was a temporary fix
She screamed digging her fingers into his body, petals wavered as though trying to return to her and her core felt empty. The spear holder seeing an opportunity lunge his spear forward, Alexander dodged and bashed an icicle armor chest. The spear holder had a large cut on over the chest and it left Alexander a deep cut on his right shoulder.
Violet tried to use the external ether but it was like trying to ride a wild horse. Blood gushed out of her mouth and she felt the deep pain in her gut of her core cracking.
They didn't know what they were doing but they knew that if they didn't do anything they'd die. So the children had to show the wild horse who was superior. FINALLY! Violet manipulated a tiny portion of external ether
"I won't last any longer." she confessed quietly to Alexander
She made the bladed petals spiraled the icicles, hiding them from their enemy and make the attack more lethal. Ether clashed with metal, more cuts developed on both side and oddly the armor were know on the defensive
Half the petals had disappeared with Violet's declining strength and Alexander only had four icicles left. Petals couldn't fit though the spaces of the amour but prevent the advance toward them by repeatedly attacking.
Alexander's attacks and the mist clouds froze certain parts of the amour making them slower and the icicles left several singular larger cuts compare to the petals multiply smaller injuries. Sadly suits of armor don't bleed out or get tired like humans do…an endurance battle. The armor were waiting for them to burnout.
Alexander whispered his plan into Violet ears. This was their last chance since they were both running on empty.
The swordsman made some hand gestures. The whip hold advanced her weapon to grip onto Alexander's right ankle trying to pull him down. Alexander stood firm. The fist fighter and spear holder pushed forward from the sides, one from the left and another crept from the right. The swordsman shielded the whip holder as he marched forward.
Alexander felt himself slipping as the whip wielder pulled with more strength.
"A futile last struggle, young lions…" the whip holder said and it felt like she would be smiling if she could
The fist fighter agreed, "Time to die"
Violet forced her body, the core shattered completely like glass and every breathe was agonizing as she fought the intense dizziness. Thousands of petals raining clashing into the armor like a tsunami. The enemies advanced because the children were practically half dead.
Alexander made his icicles quietly shatter into every tiny fragments as the petals became fiercer in distraction... truly their last struggle all or nothing. The fragments slipped into the amour
"Give up and we'll send you, on you way painlessly." The spear holder spoke for the first "It's the least we can do for such a wonderful battle."
The enemies were closing, Violet looked into Alexander eyes and gave a first nod. Violet sucked in the ether of all the petals, her coreless body couldn't handle and she felt her inside twist. The girl pushed every ounce of ether into Alexander's body
The enemies launched attack. Staring them in the helmet
"IT NOT OVER UNTIL WE WIN!!" they announced
The amours screamed in agony as their bodies split apart. Pillars of ice burst out for within them and slowly silence befell the room. The scattered amour turned into dust and the pair let out ragged breathes of relief.
Alexander coughed up blood held Violet lightly and fought the urge to close his eyes. The podium collapsed revealing a tunnel underneath. They looked around the disaster zone, walls cut up and floor frozen solid. A glimpse of their potential what their enemies feared
When they entered the tunnel loud noises echoed as the room above collapsed and a cloud of smoke pushed them out into a forest.
"HIGHNESS!!VIOLET!!" Alexander screamed through the dust
Violet answered weakly, "Alex…hurt….are…you hurt?"
"Silly…worry about yourself." He smiled weakly as he lifted her onto his back
He paused in thought for a moment…if they went to the hospital thing will go out of hand and they'll need to answer questions they didn't have answers to…
Alexander carried Violet through the forest stumbling with each step and using the surround trees as crutches. He removed two mask for his back, thankful to his overenthusiastic drama teacher. He looked at a door hidden away in a quiet alley
….
A woman smoked a pipe happily until a ring of a customer disrupted her. Although the sight that she saw was….horrific.
Some kids fell into her store. A teenage boy whose clothes were dyed red carrying a girl who wasn't in peak condition either with her back frozen? Though the ice didn't hide the wound she sustained. The children had cuts, bruises, covered in dirt and wearing Volto masks that fully covered their faces.
"What happened?" she blurted out
The boy snapped, "I thought this place was criminal area as in no questions asked?"
"It is. I'm Miriam, it's just this isn't something you see in a small town like Goldenville. I was shocked." She answered "Payment."
The boy frowned for a moment and Miriam simply smiled. She direct these poor children to the police, get them treatment and help get away from that abusive person-
A crystal dropped on the counter which halted her thought. A diamond…she quickly scrambled for her tools to access it…a real diamond.
"In the back." She instructed
Her assistant looked at her with a shocked expression on his face.
"Derek please prepare for our VIP customers." Miriam beamed
Derek frowned, "Have some shame."
"That won't pay your salary though?" she answered
Her other employees looked at Miriam with the same blank stares as Derek as though wishing she weren't their Boss. When the doctor tried to grab the girl, a sharp cut sliced into his hand and he pushed back.
"Stop that." The boy whispered "I'm not hurt… a bit battered…maybe broken…just let go."
The child released a sigh that contained all the frustration of life. This time Doctor Matthews was able to get the girl and rush to the OR while his assistant…who name she can't remember…took care of the boy.
"Do you have a name?" she asked
Dark blue eyes gazed at her and the temperature dropped in the room as everyone held there breathe unknowingly.
"Blue." He answered
"…and the lovely lady?" Miriam continued
"Purple." He told
The assistant doctor interrupted, "You beat up…sprained ankle, torn muscles, cracked ribs and more. Even if we want to ignore the internal bleeding, you should really go to a proper hospital."
Mr. Blue looked at the assistant and them Miriam.
"That's why I overpaid. We come here, you fix us up, forget about us from you memory and get rid of out trail her. That's what you do isn't Miriam, make sure nobody knows who we are. Anyone looked, you tell us who they are." he said
Doctor Matthews quickly finished and it was the boy's turn to be 'fixed' as he phrased it said. After a while the girl woke up.
"Where is he?" a cold voice asked with a rush of murderous intent thrown at her
Miriam smiled, "Mr. Blue is getting patched up….don't worry after you leave it would be like you never came."
Ms. Purple was quiet until Mister Blue returned.
"Highness…you live to fight another day." Mr. Blue chuckled
Ms. Purple answered quietly "Let's go...."
Miriam saw the relief and happiness in her eyes. The duo left in silence but they couldn't hide their peaceful smiles after changing into a clean set of clothes.
"It's like a storm just came through." Derek sighed
Everyone was in silent agreement until the door rang again. The employees were too mentally exhausted to return to the back and stood around as if browsing. It was a frequent customer of hers so she wasn't too strict with her staff.
"Have you seen anyone injured?" he smiled softly
Miriam asked, "How bad?"
"Terribly, I couldn't help my nosy self and want to help them. Please have you hurt anything?"
The weight of the diamond in her pocket felt heavy as she looked into the questioning black eyes of her trusted customers and thought very carefully about her next words.
"Unfortunately no…but I'll keep my ears on the ground and tell you." Miriam smiled
He answered with a sad expression, "I understand, hope I can help them soon. I've been curious…why does the shop smell like blood today?"
"Oh, that." Dr. Matthews interrupted "It was an emergency, it this bothers you, and you should have seen how it was earlier. We finally got the place to not look like a crime scene but we can't go into details, you know company policy."
The man's face grimaced for a moment, Miriam almost didn't recognize the man in front of her but it was only for a fraction of a second, he returned to his old self offering thanks them and bidding goodbye.
"Derek anything about those two to destroy it. Papers burnt, materials incinerated and this entire shop should smell like it bathed in bleach." She whispered
Everyone quickly got to work making Mr. Blue and Ms. Purple disappear.
"What is going on? And what have I gotten myself into?" Miriam thought
The diamond looked back at her but only felt dread like it was a bearer of bad news.
