Chapter 7 - Chapter Seven

Victor pulled the children out of way. Jeffrey's hammer smashed the door open and he ran forward. Alexander made seven ice swords in front of Victor. What choice did they really have but to trust Victor?

"Thanks." Victor smiled grabbing one sword

He jumped over Jeffrey's second hammer attack and sliced at his right eye. Jeffrey pushed and his joyful smile finally vanished.

"Seems your fun is over." Victor smiled

Jeffrey raised his hand and the building began to rumble like an earthquake hit it. Several sharp rocks crashed into the room.

"Think of a way out." Victor whispered to the kids

He twisted his blade, deflected a rock and shattered the sword in the process. The smile slowly returned to Jeffrey's face. They were forced backward by his persistent attacks while sacrificing swords.

Victor grabbed them and jumped out the window. They landed terribly on the ground and Victor coughed up some blood. He let out a groan of pain with Alexander and Violet shielded in his embrace.

"WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!?!" Violet worried

Victor winced, "I bust my back and this is the gratitude I get?"

He rolled to the left and looked at rock beside his head.

"Can't you make something?" Victor asked Violet as he dodged

Violet whispered with shame, "I...I don't know any types of weapons...."

"Make a very flexible string." Alexander told

Violet followed his description and Victor grabbed one end. With a flick of his wrist the whip wrapped around the next incoming boulder and smashed it into the ground creating dust clouds.

Alexander made more swords. Victor grabbed one, quickly advanced remembering Jeffrey's location and pushed it into his wounded right eye. Frost started to spread over his face from the injury.

Two boulders smashed into Victor and he bit back the scream in his mouth.

Violet thought quickly on how to save him. Dozens of strings formed and pulled Victor out of the pincer attack. Jeffrey's roared and his bloodshot eyes glared at them.

"Why? You will only make it more painful if you struggle." Jeffrey told

Alexander and Violet clung to Victors clothes as their bodies shook in fear. He stared at Jeffrey as a maniac smile grew in a victorious smirk.

"You're just play things...eventually you must break." he laughed "I had so much fun!"

A shadow descended over them. A enormous rock levitated in the air and it surfaced began to sharpen and smaller boulders were either blocking their escape or attacking them.

"There's a way out but it's risky." Alexander told

Victor answered, "I'm open to all suggestions."

"Past the forest is a river that leads to the Southern Dam but the currents are too fast at this time." Alexander whispered

BANG!!

They were silenced. The couldn't believe what they saw but it wasn't a terrible development. Tree roots shot out of the earth and engaged in battle with the rocks and boulders.

"Hello again."

They saw Elizabeth Moor in gorgeous ball gown made of pale yellow flowers with a warm smile.

"Does the gown suit, it's been a while...I didn't get your names, did I?" She said

Victor smiled, "Alexander and Violet. I'm Victor, should you be out at this time Ms. Moor?"

"I've never felt more alive, Mr. Victor. I'd like to apologize for everything that has happened and will happen or may not." Elizabeth told "This was supposed to be my family and i's responsible: Stopping them."

"YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED QUIET, MOOR!" Jeffrey screamed

Elizabeth laughed, " I heard you plan, I'll buy you some time. Go...in that shed is a clue to make your ether stronger for enemies to come."

"We can fight together! You can't beat him Ms. Moor." Violet told

She and Alexander felt it. Elizabeth's ether was more than theirs like a cup of water compared to the sea. Although the ether was getting weaker, ether was tied to life and they quickly deduced the situation.

"We'll...be support..." Alexander rambled

Victor and Elizabeth looked at each other for a moment. He shut his eyes for a moment and let out a pained sigh.

The next minute Violet and Alexander were picked up by Victor. He ran into the the forest while the children screamed for his to release that Elizabeth Moor needed them.

"It's been a while...Jeffrey. So you joined the other side?" Elizabeth sighed

Jeffrey frowned, "You can't beat me, Liz. The offer still stands..."

Dozens of trees sprouted for the ground and bright yellow flowers burst into bloom on their branches. Alexander and Violet were mesmerized by the unreal, beautiful scene with tears in their eyes.

Elizabeth held her dress and bowed elegantly as though it were her debut party. Her dead eyes were filled with life of a youthful woman. The wind carried her words to the escaping team.

"I am Elizabeth Moor. I was scared and turned my back on reality. Now I'm old... but don't worry, I still have a mean bite-"

EXPLOSIONS

Every tree and flowers denoted spreading the soft fragrance of flowers. Victor heard the sounds of fast flowing water and dashed toward it.

"NO!" Jeffrey screamed and the children froze in his grasp

Boulders flew toward them, Victor glimpsed at Jeffrey and grimaced. He held the children closely to his chest and jumped down into the water.

The current pushed them harshly down and Victor opened his eyes with difficulty. He was a branch up ahead and used one hand to hold the children. With the other hand he grabbed the branch.

Every muscle screamed as he tossed Alexander and Violet to shore. They were terrified but managed pulled Victor out. He looked at them with a bitter smile.

"Come here." he said "We did it."

They hugged his waist tightly and cried terribly. They....they were alive!

Victor took out his severely cracked phone from his inner pocket and thankfully it turned on. A notification with a video urgent news broadcast from hours ago. He played it:

"Officers swarmed the scene as the respected Vanessa Page was found dead at home by the house help. The details are being with held and investigations are underway-"

"Damn it." Victor cursed into the night sky
