Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

The twins, Calix and Jasmine Willows were dropped of by their father as usual.

"Check up on Violet. She's been strange these past few days." Theodore told sternly

The twins frowned, "...Yes"

They tried their best to concentrate during their classes until break tie came. They walked toward Violet's class and paused. Their kid sister had a large German Shepherd?

"Can I touch her?" A classmate asked Violet

She answered, "I don't think that's a good idea. Bella dislikes strangers."

The classmate ignored her warning and tried to stroke the quiet dog. Bella's snout snapped open to bite but Violet pulled her hand away.

"We need to go." Violet chuckled awkwardly

The twins followed her to the library where she met with a boy! He also had a German Shepherd and the twins were becoming more worried.

"What's going on?" Calix frowned

Jasmine sighed, "We've been angry for four days so we haven't been paying attention..."

~~~
"I can't concentrate." Violet admitted "I feel...scared like Jeffrey might jump out from under the bed."
Alexander sighed, "I know. I feel pathetic about wanting to crawl back to Mr. Glade's house."
Bella and Blitz nuzzled the children after picking up their depressed moods. They urged them to rub their fur and Violet smiled softly.
"It's going to get worse. We're smart enough to see the signs." She mumbled
Alexander smirked, "Don't worry, your royal Highness. This poor knight will fight with all he has."
"So will I...when it's less scary." she said sounding deflated
Bella was worried about the human girl named Violet. Why were her emotions going up and down so often? Was she sick? She licked her cheek in sympathy.
RINGING
An unknown number called Alexander. They stared at the phone and Violet swiped to answer.
"You're on break?" Victor's voice echoed
They let out a breath of relief as though the weigh of the world was lifted off their shoulders.
"Alex, you're good with maps?" Victor asked
Alexander answered, "Does a monkey like bananas?"
"Got something for you. I think they're longitude and latitudes and that's where my knowledge ends." He told
Alexander word his glasses and jotted the information. Violet brought a book that contained the map of Goldenville.
"It will drop you on Old Wood Cemetery...where did you get these coordinates from." Alexander asked in shock
Victor answered, "I think I'm being haunted but I'm too tired. Although if we don't go we'll miss the window of opportunity."
Violet offered, "Why not after school. You sleep and we still get to check it out?"
"And we have a plan! See you after classes, the police took so long so I need a power nap." Victor
Alexander reacted, "Wait what was that-"
DUUUUU
The line went dead nd they looked at the phone in shock. Their previous mood was gone and now we very interested what the heck happened after they left?!?!
The siren for end of break ended and they collected books about the Old Wood Cemetery. Although in different grades, they we're paying attention and read the books they borrowed with determined gazes.
~~~

Calix and Jasmine saw Violet and the boy leaving the school together debating about something. A sharp whistle echoed and the dogs pulled their leashes loose and ran toward a man.

Violet flung herself into a tight hug and her ruffled the boys hair.

They hear the man chuckle, " Someone would think we haven't seen each other in years."

Calix frowned, "We need to tell Aster."

~~~
When they entered the Victor's car and drove off to the Southern part of town.
"Do you have siblings?" he asked
"One older sister and brother." Alexander told
Violet smiled, "Three older siblings. two are twins!"
"Well I only have two younger siblings" Victor shrugged
He thought that the duo watching them we most probably Violet's twin siblings and decided to leave it at that. What's the worse that could happen?
Old Wood Cementary was the town graveyard that has been around since its founding. It was located deep in the Grey Forest.
"Follow me." Alexander told opening a paper "The coordinates are approximately here."
Victor took shovels and moved to the patch of grass in the corner.
"No." Violet frowned
Victor smiled, "Then dig...elegantly."
It didn't take long to find what Vanessa led them to. A small box-like safe and Victor melted the cover off. Violet and Alexander were shocked at his easy with ether.
"How?" they exclaimed
Victor smirked, "There's a thing called, talent."
Letters slipped out of opening and Victor swallowed a profound sentence down his throat. They collected the letters quickly, filled in the hole and cleared their prints as well as traced.
The team returned to Victor's house. Tightly closed curtains wasn't strange in Goldenville so no one would wonder otherwise.
"Let's get started." Victor sighed dumping the letters on the table
The letters were a conversation with Vanessa and someone called Kiwi. It begins with the unknown person warning Vanessa to drop the case at the Moor house for her safety and their relationship slowly turns to friendship. She talks about her growing suspicion of her higher-ups regarding unexplained cases.
Kiwi tells her not to investigate the situation sadly she doesn't listen stating that it was the only way to find the truth. Vanessa says in the cases the culprit could have been found easily but they were closed.
In the last letter she boasts about finding a clue and will update her unknown friend about the outcome. Which landed her on the news channel.
"Well...that was a lot of information." Alexander sighed "It feels like several years passed by."
Victor scoffed, "Get up Grandpa. We need to get some gear."
Violet looked at Victor with an expression that said a thousand words.
"Vanessa will be getting buried soon and most people will be there because she was a good person. So we'll go into the shed while everyone's busy." he informed
Alexander nodded in understanding. When they checked the shed they simply found a dark hole. The bottom couldn't be seen and they were too tired to try their luck.
"So where to?" Violet asked
Victor sighed, "I have a friend...she nuts. But she'll have everything we need."
RINGING
Victor answered the unknown caller and his face became rigid. They found it strange after everything that happened at the Hospital no news reports or police cars but they didn't know how.
"Hello. This is Eastside Hospital calling about Ms. Elizabeth Moor." the caller told "Is this Victor Glade?"
Victor told, "....Yes..."
"I'm so sorry for you loss. Would you like to see her before we procced to her funeral plans?" the caller asked
Alexander and Violet nodded firmly toward him.
"Yes...May we see Ms. Moor." he answered with a hint of sadness in his voice
