Chapter 15 - PRACTICING AND WARNING

The technique started with training in just one sword. The sword art had six stages, with the first stage to the fifth stage having having similar training steps, but the six necessitated you to combine the sword steps into one making a matrix that released a destruction ray.

These steps were, Point forward, slash, block, stab and sideways slash. These steps if trained perfectly would resonate with destruction rule of the earth element due the destruction patterns on the swords. The patterns were from simple to complicated with the first sword having the simplest patterns and the fifth sword having the hardest. These patterns would light up one by one once you started training and help a person understand the rule.

Once these steps were ingrained in your body that it became muscle memory and all the patterns on the sword lit up, you would then start training with the second sword. These patterns would also light up on the sword and if all all the patterns lit up on all the swords, the patterns would then combine to form the matrix.

'wonderful, wonderful sword art' exclaimed Wesley in happiness. The only downside to this art is that it needed specific swords with the destruction patterns in order to use perfectly.

He put the scroll and the other weapons down and went into the stone house.

It had a stone table with two chairs. The second room had a stone bed where he could rest. Wesley came back out and put the scrolls and weapons on the table and asked Tresse.

'How long am I staying in his place?

'As long you like, but you will have to leave if you really want to unseal your bloodline.' Tresse answered.

'Thank you' Wesley nodded to Tresse in thanks.

Wesley picked up a sword and continued to ask,

'How do I refine this weapon?

'Mortal grade weapons can not be refined but these ones have destruction patterns so you just have to drip a drop of your blood on them and they will recognize you as the owner.'

Using the tip of the sword, he pricked his finger and squeezed out a drop which he placed onto the sword. The sword absorbed the blood and Wesley felt a connection to the sword as if it were part of him.

He then picked up the star bow and also dripped a drop of blood onto it. The bow lit up and shot into his body and disappeared. He felt a little bit of pain at the back of his hand as if something was being inscribed on it. Wesley shifted his eyes and found a tattoo of a simple bow on it coming into being and felt that he could bring out the bow with just a thought.

Wesley then refined the rest of the swords with a grin on his face.

And with that done, he picked up a sword and started practicing the sword steps.

He would practice the steps until he got tired. Wesley would always find water and a fruit in the house whenever he was going to rest. After four days of practicing and finding that the patterns on the swords were not lighting up, he called out to Tresse.

"Why are the patterns not responding' he asked when Tresse appeared.

Tresse looked at him as if looking at a fool.

'I told you, you need to fight with an opponent in order to get a minimal understanding of the meaning of destruction. What you are doing now is just going through the steps.' it sighed out in an explanation.

"But I am not ready for the arena?" Wesley was shocked and uttered out.

Tresse then snapped its fingers and a human looking dummy holding a stone sword appeared.

"Practice on that." it told him as it disappeared.

Wesley looked at the human dummy and walked towards it. As soon as he reached its attacking range, the dummy lifted the stone sword and struck at Wesley.

He lifted his sword quickly and tried to block the dummy's attack. When the two swords met, Wesley felt a tremendous force coming towards him through the sword. He let out a tragic cry as he shot backwards and fell down. Wesley drooped his sword and looked at the dummy in horror and thought it was going to attack him but it did not. It just lowered its hand and stood there motionlessly.

'It's too strong'' he judged.

Tresse appeared and let out a chuckle.

'That is the weakest dummy you can practice on, not even at warrior level. I can give you a suggestion, please first practice the starry body technique and then fight.' it told him as it let out small chuckles.

'so why didn't you tell me earlier? Wesley shouted back in anger.

'oh , I forgot and I wanted you to learn not to put the cart before the horse. The starry body is the main technique that you should practice. The rest are just flowers added onto a finished product.' Tresse stopped chuckling and told him solemnly.

Wesley calmed down and realized his mistake. He stood up and bowed to Tresse and apologized for his out burst.

'I am sorry and thank you for the lesson.'

Trsese looked at him and saw genuine thanks and sincerity in his eyes and it let out a small chuckle. It snapped its fingers and they appeared in the enlightenment space.

'Please calm your mind and sit at the foot of the destruction stele.'

Wesley walked towards the stele and sat cross legged and tried to calm his mind. The infant in his mind palace opened its eyes and let out a soft hum. His mind went quiet and all the distracting thoughts disappeared.

Wesley closed his eyes and felt his mind connect to something so wonderful and magnificent he could not explain it and an unconscious smile formed on his lips.
