The sensation was so wonderful that Wesley let go of everything and immersed himself in it. The stele hummed softly and a palpitating aura shot out of it and surrounded him. When this aura enveloped him, the small brown bead in his mind palace started rotating and absorbed it.
Wesley felt the connection strengthen, lines he could not make sense of started flickering around him as if trying to form a pattern but they could never do so. He felt the lines were missing something in order combine and form a pattern.
He opened his eyes in excitement and the connection was cut off. All the supernatural phenomenon disappeared and he felt that he had lost something important.
'Huh' Wesley let out a disappointed sigh.
Looking at the boy who seemed as if he ha lost something important. Tresse chuckled because he knew what happened to him.
Wesley looked at Tresse after hearing the chuckle and with a hopeful face asked.
'Do you know what happened?
'Listen well, there are taboos for when you are training in meditation, never get over excited, you need to be calm always. Choose a safe place because you can be sneak attacked when you are deep in training especially during meditation, a quiet place is also necessary to avoid distractions. Meditating needs patience and because of your soul being in infant stage , it makes it easier for you to start meditating very fast. The growth of your soul will also help you in touching the basics and understanding the rules because a stronger soul senses the rules and elements better''
'Pick up the first sword and analyze it, I think you will find a big a surprise.'
Wesley had left the other swords in the stone house and was just using the first sword for practice. He had been with it when Tresse moved him into this space and had dropped it when he started meditating. Wesley now picked it up again and studied it looking for any peculiarity.
'Eeeeh' Wesley let out a soft exclamation. There were three patterns on this sword and he kept on feeling a familiar sensation from them. Before his meditation, they were just lines to him but now they felt closer as if he had seen them somewhere.
He thought hard and like a bolt of lightning lighting up a night sky, he had an epiphany. The lines that made up the patterns resembled those that he had felt while he was meditating.
He sat down cross legged in excitement and tried calming his mind while running the starry body technique. Wesley held the sword and flicked his fingers onto the patterns while trying to get back the feeling he had lost due to his excitement.
After a while, when he had lost all distractions, his soul opened its small eyes and let out another hum. Wesley felt the connection again and with the knowledge that the lines he vaguely saw with his soul were connected to the sword patterns, he felt confident that this time he would make some progress.
With another hum from the stele, its aura surrounded him again. The bead also started absorbing the aura at a faster speed this time.
This time as the bead absorbed the aura, vague lines flickered on the bead but couldn't form clearly and as these lines started to form, the patterns on the sword also lit up with a soft light. There was a resonance between the sword patterns and the patterns in his soul.
To what felt like a long time for Wesley but was just a moment, a line that was vague before became so clear and pasted itself onto the bead. The bead paused a bit in its rotation and then rotated faster as it absorbed more aura.
Outside his body, a line on first pattern lit up with a brighter light than the others. And with with this progress, it was like a snow ball going down hill while collecting more snow, more lines started to light up but after reaching half way of the pattern, Wesley weary feeling came from his soul so he stopped running the technique and opened his eyes.
He then looked at the sword lying on his legs and let out a small chuckle in happiness. The lines that made up the first pattern on the sword had lit up but not all of them. He felt a vague understanding of them but not fully. Wesley knew that he had to make the entire pattern light up for him to fully understand it.
Wesley then introspected his mind palace using his soul because he felt a difference. The soul opened its eyes and what he saw truly amazed him. The bead was now letting out a soft gleam of light and his mind palace was no longer full of darkness.
Wesley looked at it and saw that it now had some lines crisscrossing each other to make something like a pattern, but it was half complete. He was shocked to find a close similarity to the sword pattern that had almost lit up but there was still a small difference.
'We will find out the difference if I complete the pattern.' Wesley comforted himself.
He left his mind palace and told Tresse to take him back to the training space to resume his fight against the dummy.
Wesley continued his training and with the fighting experience he was gaining and the meditation he was undertaking, both lines on the bead in the mind palace and the pattern on the sword grew in number and lit up. He couldn't wait for the entire pattern to be formed, he felt there was going to be a big change when the entire pattern formed especially with the one in his mind palace.
