'Hmmm' Wesley let out an embarrassing groan. His body felt lighter as if a huge burden had been taken off. All the aches and gashes on his body disappeared.
'Ok , I am done'
'You can go wash up.' Tresse said as he snapped his fingers and disappeared.
Wesley opened his eyes and found a wooden tub full of water placed in front of him. There was a new white robe placed on the side.
He looked around to to thank Tresse but then a strong stench hit him. It was coming from his body. An oily black substance had come through his pores and deposited on his skin.
'Oh my God' He shouted out in alarm as he hurriedly ran towards the tub.
Wesley removed the stinking clothes off him and started scrubbing himself vigorously, the oily black residue came off easily to reveal his fair skin.
What was surprising, the water would replenish itself every time it had bottomed out in the tub. He just continued to scrub himself until he felt refreshed.
Wesley put on the new robes and using the remaining water as a mirror, he checked himself out.
A young thin fair skinned boy with brown hair reaching his ears looked back. A smile started to form on his lips.
'Booo'' the skeleton Tresse appeared abruptly and scared him.
Wesley jumped back in fright.
Tresse snapped his fingers and the tub with all the dirty water around plus Wesley's old clothes disappeared.
''Ok.. its time for business' Tresse continued on as if what he had done was a trivial thing.
''I have removed your poison and also the injuries that have been affecting your body'
''Now you look like what a normal boy should, apart from the malnourished part' it let out a chuckle.
'Please sit' it told Wesley as it sat cross legged on the stele.
He refused and just looked at it. Wesley was still cautious about the skeleton and the space he was in.
'Thank you for healing me.' was the only thing Wesley said while bowing towards the skeleton. It was the only kindness he had received since his parents had died and was very grateful.
'No trouble, it's something you deserve as an inheritor.'
Wesley had a frown on his face when he heard that word gain.
'Inheritor' he pondered.
Tresse started speak in a solemn tone.
'A great being in the universe created your world and twelve others. He split his inheritance into twelve parts and then created twelve crystals of inheritance. The crystals were thrown out into the twelve worlds waiting for people like you who have enough providence and meet the set standard in terms of body to find them. If a person's body meets the set standards needed for the inheritance, the crystal would transmit that person through time and space to such a place like this. This place was created for people like you to receive his inheritance.
'And this place…. is one of them' it said as at waved its fingers to mean the space they were in.
''These places contain his inheritance but it comes at cost' Tresse continued while it looked at him through its empty eye sockets.
When Wesley heard that, he broke into a cold sweat.
'But I don't have an inheritance crystal he shouted out.
'hmm, look below your neck' Tresse pointed at him.
Wesley looked down and saw that the blue crystal his mom had given him had turned into a purple color that bordered black.
'This.. this… is an inheritance crystal?' he asked back in a quivering tone.
'Yes, but don't worry, its good for you and your world.' Tresse told him in a comforting tone.
'That is why I said you are both lucky and unlucky at the same time''
''What do you mean?' Wesley asked Tresee in a worried tone.
'Hmmm, you will receive the inheritance and start practicing. This is a greatest gift you will ever have because it will change you entire life for the better.'
'When you reach grand completion, you will have to look for the rest of the inheritance and then combine it into one''
'That's when when the unlucky part comes in, if one of the inheritances already has an inheritor, you will have to take it from them.'
'If you are the weaker one, then you will die.'' Tresse continued on in a solemn tone.
'But do not worry, only those that have reached grand completion in practice can sense each other and break the void to search for other inheritors. You are very far away from that.''
'You have not yet started practicing so why worry over it, you may be even lucky and combine all the inheritances without a hitch.'
Wesley looked at Tresse skeptically.
'Cough' Tresse coughed out in embarrassment.
'Now hold out the crystal and place it the groove on the stele. We need to find out which type of inheritance that this place holds.'
'The crystal is the key to open up the inheritance.'
'Do I have a choice?" Wesley asked back in a dry tone.
'No' was the only reply he got.
Wesley held the crystal and walked towards the stele. There was a groove which looked to be a perfect fit for the crystal.
As his hand came closer, the crystal started vibrating and with a woosh it left his hand and stuck itself in the groove.
