Wesley woke up with a groan.
His body was aching all over, his eyes were still caked with dry blood and couldn't open very well.
'There is water next to you if would choose to clean your face with' he heard a neutral voice and froze all is movements.
'Where?' a hoarse whisper came out of his mouth.
'On your left and be careful not to break anything'
Wesley reached out with and felt something like a cup. It was smooth and felt cold.
He held it tightly and poured out the liquid inside onto his right hand and scrubbed his face vigorously to remove the dried blood.
When most the blood had been removed, he looked around only to find himself looking at a small four inch green skeleton floating just in front of his face.
He pulled back in fright.
'What are you?' he asked in fright.
'I am a puppet, the controller or spirit of this place'
'Good, you didn't break it''. it continued and snapped its fingers.
The transparent looking cup he was holding disappeared in front of him.
Before Wesley could wonder how the four inch skeleton could talk and make an object disappear, he started coughing and curled in pain on the ground.
'When you are done having your coughing fit, please follow the green lines '
'They will lead you to me.' he heard the skeleton tell him.
When he had stopped coughing, he uncurled himself and stood up from the ground.
The place he found himself was made of smooth brown rocks and there were green lines that crisscrossed on the walls. They would light up one by one and then move in the same direction
He realized he was in a corridor.
'OK, I have survived the elemental storm'
'Time to follow the lights'
He touched the walls tentatively and nothing happened to him.
The pain in his body was still bothering him, so he walked slowly while staggering to where the green lights were flowing towards.
After a while he found himself walking to an open space. It was a round space that was not so big, of about forty meters in diameter.
There was a two meter green stele standing in the middle. The green skeleton was seated cross legged on top of it.
He stopped in his tracks and looked around.
There were twelve tunnels that were connected to this small space and all of them had green lights coming out of them. The green lights would first flow into the ground and then converge on the stele. He had just come out of one of the tunnels.
'Come on over, I don't bite, '
Wesley looked at the skeleton cautiously and felt that it was smiling at him. He did not know how that was possible.
He walked towards the stele and when he reached it, he found that there were characters he could not recognize written on it.
'My name in your language is Tresse"
'And as I said earlier, I am the controller of this space, you are both lucky and unlucky at the same time.'
'Wesley Brune, twelve years of age, lost his parents at the age of six and recently poisoned.'
'Hmm, you have a dormant sealed flower tree bloodline' the skeleton sounded surprised.
It snapped its fingers and appeared in front of him.
Wesley took a step back.
'Don't worry, I just have a question for you.'
'Do you choose to take on all responsibilities of an inheritor? Tresse asked in a solemn tone.
'What?' Wesley murmured out.
A lot of thoughts were running through Wesley's mind.
'How did this skeleton know some things about hi, even some things he did not know?' he wondered.
'I don't know' he answered back at last in a worried tone.
'Great answer."
'I would also give the same answer if I were in your place'
'No one with a bit of sense would say yes or agree without knowing what he was signing up for.'
'Now, we shall get back to that later. You look like you are about to faint.' Tresse said.
When you are healed we shall have a good talk about inheritors.' he continued.
It then pointed at Wesley and small green light shot out of its fingers and covered his body.
