After Kado's custom battle suit was completed, he left the Land of Waves and began wandering across the ninja world, searching for people in need of help.
That night, Kado passed through the Land of Fire.
Although he had been quite displeased with the Third Hokage for refusing to do business with him before, now he was a hero. And a hero, naturally, must have tolerance.
So, he decided to visit Konoha Village to see if anyone there required his assistance.
After all, on this journey he had already helped many people and received much gratitude in return. That feeling of fulfillment made Kado extremely satisfied.
As he was nearing Konoha Village, he suddenly saw two masked men running toward him.
"As long as we get out of the Land of Fire, we'll be safe!"
"Don't let the Hyūga clan catch us!"
Kado immediately noticed that one of the men was carrying a little girl under his arm. His rage ignited instantly:
"You dare to do something as shameless as stealing children?!"
Kado's sudden outburst startled the two men, making them instinctively glance in his direction.
All they saw was a man in a blue tight-fitting suit, wearing a mask, standing there and shouting loudly.
"Where did this fool suddenly pop up from in the middle of the night?" the man holding the child scoffed. "Don't waste time, just get rid of him. I'll go now."
With that, the man carrying the little girl hurried away.
"Die!" the other man roared, drawing a kunai and hurling it straight at Kado's forehead without hesitation.
Convinced that Kado was already dead, he turned around to leave.
But at that moment, a sharp clang of metal striking metal rang out.
Startled, the man whipped his head around and saw the kunai bounce off Kado's forehead as though it had struck solid steel, sparks flying before it was deflected away.
His pupils shrank violently in shock, and his face twisted with dread as cold sweat streamed down his forehead.
"What kind of monster is this?!"
He quickly reached into his ninja tool pouch for another kunai, preparing to throw it again.
But when he looked up—Kado had vanished!
The forest grew eerily silent, broken only by the man's heavy breathing.
Nervously scanning his surroundings, he searched for any trace of Kado, but found nothing.
"Don't tell me I've run into a ghost in the middle of the night?!" His voice trembled with fear and disbelief. He could not comprehend how Kado had disappeared without a trace.
Suddenly, a cold voice echoed behind him:
"Are you looking for me?"
The man's heart jolted. He spun around in panic, only to find Kado right in front of him.
Before he could react, Kado slapped him across the face.
The tremendous force spun his head around dozens of times. His vision blurred, his body crashed heavily to the ground—and he died without even managing a scream.
"One down…" Kado muttered, shifting his gaze toward the fleeing figure in the distance.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
The other man was running desperately. Hearing the noise, he glanced back and saw Kado chasing after him at terrifying speed.
His face turned deathly pale. He hadn't expected his companion to be taken out in such a short time. Their strengths had always been about equal. If Kado could finish off his partner so easily, then his own fate was sealed.
Panic surged in his chest. He quickened his pace frantically, knowing that if Kado caught him, he was doomed.
Suddenly, with a gust of wind, Kado appeared right in front of him, blocking his path.
The man froze in horror, despair consuming him.
He knew very well he wasn't a match for the person before him. Though his legs trembled uncontrollably, he forced himself to calm down, hoping to negotiate.
"Senior, we have no grudge between us. Please, spare me!" His voice was filled with desperate pleading.
Kado sneered. "You damn human trafficker, I will never let you go today!" His eyes gleamed with fury and killing intent.
He would never allow scum like this to continue committing evil.
Upon hearing this, the man's face drained completely of color, but still, he gritted his teeth and forced out a threat:
"I'm from Kumogakure! If you kill me, Lord Raikage will never forgive you! That would mean declaring war on the entire Land of Lightning!"
"You dare threaten me? You're begging for death!"
With a flash, Kado instantly appeared behind the man.
Before the man could even react, Kado ruthlessly twisted his neck.
The life drained from his body as he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Kado moved swiftly, catching the little girl in his arms before she could fall.
Looking at her unconscious figure, his fury boiled over. His voice shook with rage:
"They're too cruel… to treat such a cute little girl like this. It would have been so easy for them to kill her!"
…
"Over there! Don't let them escape!"
Just then, dozens of men in kimonos rushed toward Kado.
But when they saw the corpses of the Kumogakure shinobi on the ground and Kado standing beside them, they froze in shock.
A man in a kimono stepped forward, bowing respectfully.
"Thank you for saving my daughter. I am Hyūga Hiashi, head of the Hyūga clan."
Kado glanced at him but didn't immediately hand the girl over. Instead, he said:
"I don't care whether you're really her father or not—let's wait until she wakes up and tells me herself."
Hiashi instantly understood Kado's meaning: he didn't trust him.
But instead of feeling offended, Hiashi smiled and nodded. "Very well. I will follow benefactor's words."
From his reaction, Kado could already tell the little girl really was Hiashi's child.
Kado then asked coldly: "How did Kumogakure shinobi infiltrate Konoha and abduct a member of the Hyūga clan?"
Hiashi's face twisted with anger. "Damn Kumogakure! They barged into the Hyūga clan compound at midnight under the pretense of negotiation and kidnapped my daughter! If not for you stepping in, the consequences would have been unimaginable!"
Hearing this, Kado's rage flared again. He slammed his fist into the ground with full force.
Boom!
A massive crater instantly formed where his fist struck.
"To think that one of the Five Great Nations, the Land of Lightning, would stoop to such despicable acts!"
The Hyūga clansmen around him instinctively swallowed hard.
He had created such a deep crater with just a single punch… how terrifying must his strength be?
At that moment, the little girl in Kado's arms slowly regained consciousness.
As soon as she opened her eyes and saw Hiashi, she leapt up and ran into his embrace, shouting loudly:
"Father!"
Having confirmed Hiashi really was her father, Kado immediately turned and prepared to leave. His next destination—the Land of Lightning, to teach the Fourth Raikage a lesson.
Hiashi called out after him, "Benefactor, I don't even know your name."
"You may call me the Captain of the Island Nation."
With that, Kado strode away quickly.
"The… Captain of the Island Nation?" Hiashi murmured to himself, watching Kado's back disappear into the distance.
