He didn't believe for a second that Hydra, an organization that had spread its tentacles across the world, could erase every trace of its existence.Even S.H.I.E.L.D. left clues now and then, sometimes even getting caught by Skye's hacks. How could Hydra be any cleaner than them?
Of course, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s main strategy in those cases was simple—deploy armies of agents to delete posts and scrub data off the internet.That was just the way things worked in the age of information.
"Understood, sir. The new project has been established," Jarvis replied.
Everyone continued watching the footage on the screen.
Black Widow, Natasha, had just taken down several Hydra soldiers and muttered, "That wasn't easy, huh, buddy?"
"Yeah, our little surprise attack didn't work out so well," Hawkeye Clint Barton said while loosing another arrow.
Tony blasted through an energy barrier and then, still in the middle of the fight, quipped, "Wait a second—doesn't anyone want to comment on the fact that Cap told us not to swear?"
"Fine, fine. My bad," Captain America Steve Rogers replied, smashing an enemy truck to pieces with his motorcycle. His sheer strength made the word badass feel like an understatement.
Of course, he still had no idea that fans had given him a nickname—"Captain Goody-Two-Mouth."
The scene shifted—inside Hydra's Sokovia base.Strucker slammed his fist on the table and roared, "Who authorized this attack?!"
He had been caught completely off guard. Even when Hydra's American headquarters was destroyed, he hadn't made a move.That was Hydra's nature—many heads, many leaders. Losing one didn't mean the others fell.
The American branch being wiped out had nothing to do with the Sokovia cell.
They'd spent years worming into this small Eastern European nation, manipulating local politicians and elites, slowly turning the entire country into a puppet state.
But even so, it was supposed to be secret control. And now?Now that chaos had broken out, secrecy was a thing of the past.
The gunfire alone would draw the attention of Russia, one of the five great powers, not to mention the rest of the world.The base was as good as lost.
Hydra might be wealthy and powerful, but even they couldn't afford to keep burning through resources like this—especially now that S.H.I.E.L.D. was gone, and their primary "blood bank" had dried up.
Even the landlord runs out of food eventually.
"Baron Strucker, it's the Avengers!"
A subordinate ran in, reporting the situation.
Another Hydra officer followed: "They air-dropped into the forest. Our lines are collapsing!"
Strucker's face darkened immediately. He turned to Dr. List, the Hydra scientist beside him. "They're here for the scepter!"
"Can you hold them off?" Strucker barked.
"Sir… they're the Avengers!"
The man looked stunned. The Avengers!The ones who stopped an alien invasion.How could a group of ordinary Hydra soldiers stand a chance? Asking them to resist the Avengers was like asking them to kill Sun Wukong and his master from Journey to the West.

Watching Hydra's troops panic at just hearing the name Avengers, the people outside the footage couldn't help but feel a surge of pride.
This wasn't arrogance—it was earned fear.Hydra's elite soldiers had been traumatized by the Avengers.
Strucker's expression, meanwhile, was one of helplessness. He didn't believe his men could hold out either.
"Deploy all reserve tanks! Concentrate fire on their weakest points!" he ordered."An attack will raise morale! We're on the verge of greatness—our ultimate success is near!" he shouted, trying to sound confident.
Dr. List, standing nearby, added coldly, "Perhaps it's time we tested our results. Send out the twins."
He glanced toward Pietro and Wanda—the only successful test subjects from the Mind Scepter experiments.
After obtaining the scepter, Hydra had performed countless experiments, though with far less success than when they had the Tesseract.Only Wanda and Pietro had survived and awakened powers.
They had been brainwashed thoroughly, their hatred toward Tony Stark carefully cultivated.
Now was the time to unleash them.
"Not yet! My men can still handle it!" Strucker snapped.
He wasn't about to waste such valuable experimental assets so recklessly.They were rare successes—if something happened to them, the loss would be immeasurable.
Besides, even though the Avengers were powerful, they were still flesh and blood. Tanks and artillery weren't that useless… probably.
Outside, Hydra troops charged out in squads, heavy weapons blazing so fiercely that the city in the distance began to suffer collateral damage.
"Sir, the city is under fire!" Jarvis reported.
Tony's expression hardened."I knew it. Strucker never cared about civilian lives!"
Moments later, waves of Iron Legion units flew toward the city.
"The Iron Legion?" Tony raised an eyebrow. "Those are my designs."
Indeed, the robots looked almost identical to the ones he'd built. Different timeline, same genius.
When faced with extraterrestrial threats like the Chitauri, solo heroes were helpless. Even the world's strongest military, the U.S. Army, had been crushed instantly.
In the end, an automated army had always been the most logical solution.
"Can't deny it," Tony said, smirking. "Genius really does run in the family—mine."
However, the Iron Legion didn't receive the warm welcome they expected.
"This area is unsafe! Please evacuate!"
"We're here to help!"
But the locals didn't believe them. In fact, some even fired on the Iron Legion.
Everyone watching frowned. Why did the Avengers have such a bad reputation here?
"I'm this unpopular in the future?" Tony muttered, genuinely baffled.
He'd come to save them—to liberate them from Hydra's rule—and this was the thanks he got?
Bruce Banner sighed softly. "Maybe it's because we brought the war to them. Their peaceful lives were shattered because of us."
"But even so, it's a path we must walk," Captain Rogers said firmly. "Because it's the right one. Justice must be pursued, even when it's misunderstood."
He'd seen it countless times on the battlefield—people who couldn't tell right from wrong.
But that never stopped him from fighting for what was right.If they'd hesitated back then, the world would still be under the rule of Nazi fascists.
"True enough," Tony agreed, his tone faintly bitter. "Some things are never understood. I've had plenty of that lately."
As the only hero to publicly reveal his identity, Tony faced all the problems the others could avoid—lawsuits, damage claims, medical bills.
He'd even been sued by criminals for "violating their human rights" while stopping their crimes.
Well… this was America, after all—where "human rights" could be used as a bandage for anything.
