Chapter 33 - Financial Freedom, First Meeting with Wonder Woman

Peter Parker could only helplessly hold Gwen's body, hoping she could breathe, constantly calling out her name.

"Gwen!"

"Gwen!"

"Breathe, breathe!"

"Wake up, wake up!"

"Don't leave me, Gwen, don't do this, please..."

The screen went black, and that was the end.

Everyone who witnessed this felt incredibly heavy. Although they weren't ordinary people – some were elite agents, others top-tier wealthy individuals, and still others were superheroes – fundamentally, beneath these identities, they were still just ordinary people.

And with the mindset of ordinary people, they were still saddened by what they saw.

This was especially true for Gwen Stacy. For her, this was the first time she'd seen a parallel universe version of herself. Was this how it felt?

Was this the fate of herself in Lin Feng's diary, the one who didn't become Spider-Man?

Would she die under the clock tower?

Would she be implicated by that Peter Parker?

She took a deep breath, feeling she needed to rely on herself. She wasn't that weak version of herself from the parallel universe. Even if she died, it absolutely wouldn't be by being dragged down like that.

She watched for a while longer. It seemed that Lin Feng's recording for this diary entry had ended. Only then did she finally put away the diary. Then, she took out her usual clothes from her backpack and changed. After that, she slowly took the elevator down from the building and left.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents dispersed, each of them reeling from the explosive information contained within the diary. It would take them a long time to process everything.

For Lin Feng, this was just another entry in his daily diary.

Meanwhile, the city was still reeling from Tony Stark's announcement that he was shutting down the weapons division. Stark Industries' stock had plummeted, falling to less than a tenth of its previous value. Lin Feng took advantage of the situation and bought a significant amount of shares.

A few days later, Tony Stark announced to the world that he had developed cold fusion technology, a new and reliable source of clean energy.

The news sent Stark Industries' stock soaring. Tony Stark instantly became the center of global attention.

Before, Stark Industries was just a weapons manufacturer, and there was no shortage of those in the world.

But as for nuclear fusion technology, no country had yet claimed to have mastered it, which showed how difficult it was.

His proposal for a new type of clean energy was also welcomed by countless environmentalists.

Within a short time, the previously plummeting shares had recovered and even doubled from their original value.

For Lin Feng, this was naturally a huge boon. His initial investment of twenty million became four hundred million, instantly surpassing the accumulation of his family's wealth over several decades and two generations. He was immediately financially free.

And this wasn't the limit. With time, Stark Industries would only grow larger, and Lin Feng's shares would correspondingly increase in value.

Lin Feng couldn't help but sigh, "No wonder America later deindustrialized. Making money in finance is just too fast."

If he had been diligently working in a real industry, when would he have been able to increase those twenty million dollars to four hundred million, and with pure cash flow at that?

Many wealthy individuals with assets of ten or twenty billion couldn't even produce that much cash.

It was a complete windfall!

Mid-Autumn Festival. A bright moon hung high in the sky, casting a cool light down upon the earth.

Lin Feng had just left the home of the original owner's parents, having just finished the Mid-Autumn family gathering. Now, months later, he was gradually getting used to life in this world.

Initially, the original owner's parents were concerned about Lin Feng's lack of activity during this period and wanted him to end this state, return home, and take over the family business. After all, he was a third-generation rich kid, a multi-millionaire at least.

But when Lin Feng showed them the money he'd made in the stock market, they knew their child had done well.

Lin Feng only said that he had been learning to trade stocks and gradually accumulated capital. Then, after Stark Industries' stock plummeted, he'd bought at the bottom.

His current net worth had surpassed what the family had accumulated over decades!

And his family was just happy for Lin Feng, not mentioning anything about him coming back to take over the family business. After all, the child was doing quite well on his own.

They just felt that if Lin Feng ever failed in the future, there was still a family business for him to inherit.

Lin Feng felt a little guilty about this, after all, their real child was gone, and now it was a soul from another universe standing before them.

At this moment, Lin Feng couldn't help but think of his own family, wondering how they were doing in another universe.

Perhaps, there's a possibility of me going back? For example, reaching Multiverse Level? Or drawing some powerful item! Lin Feng thought to himself.

Actually, Tony Stark and Nick Fury were spot on with their psychological assessment of Lin Feng. He didn't feel much attachment to this America, or even this Earth, or this universe, for that matter.

After all, the most important period for shaping his values had been in another universe. His real parents, relatives, and friends were also in another universe, so there was no way he could feel much belonging to this one.

He still hoped that one day he could return to his own universe.

As long as he persevered, writing in his diary day and night, anything was possible.

After his moment of melancholy, Lin Feng walked along the streets of New York at night.

It had to be said, the streets of New York weren't a good place at night. Leaving the high-end residential area, he soon arrived at a poor neighborhood. The number of homeless people increased. Lin Feng witnessed a robbery firsthand.

Several black men saw Lin Feng, an Asian face, and figured he'd be easy to bully. They immediately tried to rob him. But how could they be a match for Lin Feng? He simply broke the wrists of these people as a matter of course. The right hands of these black criminals were completely destroyed, their bones shattered. They would never recover. He then broke a leg each, effectively disabling them from committing any more crimes.

Lin Feng was always ruthless when dealing with these criminals; he didn't show any mercy.

However, before he could think any further, a bank ATM robbery occurred in the distance. A group of black men used C4 Explosives to blow open the ATM machine and were about to make off with the money when a figure clad in medieval armor descended from the sky. In a matter of seconds, the figure defeated them all, tied them up, and waited for the police to arrive.

Lin Feng's eyes narrowed slightly. Wonder Woman!
