Ivy's POV
"Ivy..." The voice floated through the clearing like a distant echo. I scanned my surroundings, seeing only Astrid and Killian waiting patiently beside me. "Ivy!" The voice grew more urgent, closer now, yet the three of us remained alone in the peaceful space.
"Who's calling?" I glanced at my wolves, who seemed to respond with what looked like canine shrugs.
"IVY!" The shout jolted me awake. My eyes snapped open to find my father at the edge of the clearing, pacing frantically. "Wake up!" His face was drained of color, sweat beading on his forehead.
"Dad?" I mumbled, rubbing sleep from my eyes.
He spun around and slammed his hands against an invisible barrier that definitely hadn't been there earlier. "Ivy!" He pressed his palms flat against the unseen shield. "Thank the goddess you're finally responding."
"Dad?" Confusion clouded my mind. "What's happening?"
