Ivy's POV
I stared at the ethereal woman before me, her beauty transcending anything earthly. Recognition dawned like the first rays of sunrise. "Moon Goddess?"
Her smile illuminated the space between us. "I always knew you were perceptive, little pup." Light seemed to pulse through her very being. "Now, tell me what troubles you."
"I can't connect with nature," I confessed, despair washing over me. "Without that connection, I can't save my father. I can't even save myself." My head dropped into my hands, the weight of failure crushing me. "Goddess... why?"
"Some events must unfold as written," she said, her voice melodic yet tinged with sadness as she bent to kiss my forehead. "Certain paths are carved in stone to ensure the greater tapestry takes its proper shape."
"But my pup," I choked out, grief threatening to overwhelm me. Her smile quivered with compassion.
