Chapter 20 - "Mission Survival"

Episode :20

With the loudspeaker now turned off, the entire school was filled only with the growling sounds of zombies echoing through the halls. A thin layer of clouds passing in front of the sun disturbed the sunlight falling upon the earth.

On the second floor of the school building,

in the broadcast room,

Miss Selena was sitting on her chair in deep sorrow, her head resting on the desk in front of her in a state of despair. On the other side, Yaram was sitting on a chair not far from her, lost in deep thought for who knows how long.

Lina was also sitting on a black single sofa placed in front of them, looking worried, as if she was missing her loved ones.

Suddenly, Yaram straightened his head, and a spark of mixed happiness and hope appeared in his eyes, as if he had found a way out of this place.

A faint smile appeared on his lips, and breaking the silence of the broadcast room, he said excitedly,

"Miss Selena, I have a very good idea to get out of here."

Miss Selena, who was lying with her head on the table in deep sadness, immediately sat upright upon hearing Yaram's voice and, looking at him, said,

"Alright then, tell us quickly."

Hearing this, Yaram eagerly pulled his chair closer to Miss Selena's chair and sat beside her. Lina also stood up and came to stand with them. Yaram began explaining his plan to both of them.

Scene shifts:

The Army Chief, carrying a serious expression on his face, entered a room. On the wall outside this room, there was a large sign—a big black star, with the fierce face of a black cheetah drawn upon it.

He had clearly entered a meeting room. As soon as he entered, the middle-aged men sitting around a long table, dressed in different military uniforms, stood up. Behind them, young soldiers in uniform also stood straight and saluted respectfully along with them.

Walking toward the empty chair in front, the Army Chief said seriously,

"Please sit down."

Hearing this, the middle-aged officers sat down, while the young soldiers standing behind them remained upright with their chests held high.

Among those seated were a white-navy-uniformed Chief General, beside him the Air Force Chief General dressed in dark green uniform, along with the Ground Forces Chief General, and several other officials.

Their presence clearly indicated that they had gathered for a highly important matter.

And today's meeting was regarding the security of the entire country, whose situation had deteriorated so rapidly due to the spread of the Z-virus that within a single day, martial law had been imposed across the whole nation.

This was not just about one country—rather, for the first time in history, martial law had been imposed simultaneously in 100 countries in a single day.

As the situation continued to grow more and more severe, such emergency meetings were being held across the world to find a strong solution to stop these conditions and eliminate the virus.

In this meeting room, a thirty-year-old officer was standing in front of a large white board before all the Chief Generals.

Upon the Army Chief's command, the lights were turned off, and a projection was displayed onto the white board, which was no longer blank. Holding a black pointer stick, he pointed to specific locations on the map projected onto the board and began the presentation.

Everyone present listened to the presentation with great attention.

While presenting, the officer said:

Placing the pointer on a specific location on the map, he said,

"We had sent ten helicopters to this area in an emergency situation, out of which two have already been destroyed. However, rescue operations are still ongoing in this region, and efforts are being made to evacuate the survivors. But unfortunately, it must be said that this virus has spread rapidly across the entire country, affecting more than half of the population, which has made our rescue operations even more difficult."

He continued pointing with his stick at the red-marked areas on the map where rescue operations were underway.

The mission to safely rescue survivors was named "Mission Survival."

Hearing all this, the Army Chief became lost in his thoughts, as if deeply troubled by what he had heard.

After a short while, when the presentation ended, the Army Chief stood up from his chair with seriousness.

With an expression of concern and determination on his face, he said,

"Even if only a single person remains alive among the entire population of our country and everyone else turns into zombies, we will fulfill our duty and save that person. And I firmly believe that we will soon bring these unfortunate conditions under control. Now, without wasting any time, full focus must be given to Mission Survival, so that those innocent people who are holding onto life only with the hope that the army will come to rescue them do not lose hope.

Rather, we will live up to their expectations and save them. Therefore, spread Mission Survival across the entire country so that at least someone survives because of us. I hope all of you have understood my words clearly."

He delivered this speech in a highly passionate manner, and the morale of the young soldiers present there rose even higher.

After finishing his speech, the Army Chief, without wasting any time, left the meeting room and proceeded toward the control room.
