Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Humans are... Strategists

After the defeat of Adamastor, Adam was resting, and so was his crew. Although powerful compared to the low-concepts, in the grand scheme of things, they were lacking in power. They struggled too hard with Adamastor to be able to beat Yumud, who was far stronger than him.

 Adam sat there contemplating.

"How will we get out of this situation?" - He asked - "How does one defeat someone whose control over the battlefield is absolute?"

Adam knew the stage where the final fight would take place would have to be the sea for certain, Yumud wasn't a concept who would be easily tricked into giving up their main advantage.

That being said, anything has a limit, no matter how great of a concept, there should be a way to overcome their capabilities.

Adam knew that there were many powerful concepts, many above even Water. How would he, a weak concept, ever manage to create a way of defeating them.

At that moment, it occured to Adam that he should ask the opinions and maybe for the help of friendly concepts through the concept of a letter, it would at most take a day for other concepts to receive the letter, so it was not a bad option.

The letters were sent to only three concepts.

-Pyro, the concept of fire

-Kyle, the concept of an emotion

-Soc Tzu, the concept of philosophy

Other than these, there was a meeting between the backbone of Adam's existence. The seven deadly sins, the concept of a weapon, the concept of a ship and the concept of a Captain were all sitting in a semicircle, one whose centrepoint would be where Adam was sitting.

"So...Everyone understood that we are currently not in the best of positions."

Adam said in a disheartened tone.

"We are weaker than Yumud, but i believe in our capabilities. We might not be able to beat her today, but we can get stronger and stand on equal ground with her tomorrow."

"While that may be true, we still have to figure out how to beat her while losing the least ourselves."

Said Greed, the leader of the seven deadly sins.

"I hate to agree with him, but what he says is true. We can't just recklessly begin a fight with Yumud, as that would lead to our utter annihilation."

Agreed Vasco, the concept of a captain. Because of his role he was the only one who knew the limits of Caravela, the concept of a ship. That is... other than Adam.

"Then what are we supposed to do. The backbone of my battle is a concept whose only been under me for a couple of days, the concept of electricity, Indra."

"Tsk... You say your secret weapon is the newbie? Don't joke around in such serious matters."

Said the backbone of humanity's conquest, the concept of a weapon, also known as Tsara.

Tsara looks human, but she can turn any part of her body into any kind of weapon. She has silver hair, cadet blue eyes and a skin tone that is the same colour as ash wood... and also has an awful personality.

 What is a weapon?

A weapon can technically be anything if it is used with an intention to hurt, harm or kill. This applies to both objects and intangible things, such as words. The term weapon is usually used in order to refer to objects like swords, maces or guns, which were all designed for combat, hence harming and killing others.

 slap

Adam got hit on the head by Tsara. This hit was as powerful as a hammer strike.

 "What was that for?"

"That was to snap you back to reality."

 "What are you on about?"

"I'm just trying to understand why you would gamble our lives on a rookie like Indra"

"I see his potential. He is at minimum going to become as powerful as you."

"His potential will not matter if he has no experience to use it!"

"That is why we, the more experienced concepts, have to guide and protect him in order to make sure he fulfills his role in the fight. Or are you maybe suggesting you cannot do it?"

 "Th-that... Of-of course I can do it!"

"Then, even if you don't trust him, trust my judgement."

 "I... I think I can do that..."

"Anyone else got anything to add?"

 "No sir."

 "That's better"

A few days later, Soc Tzu arrived to strategise and brought with him a letter from Pyro.

Soc Tzu is the concept of philosophy and while he might not be a very good fighter, he is the second best strategist in the conceptual realm, only behind the concept of well... strategy.

Soc Tzu appears as an older man with a nice brown beard. He is always wearing a white chiton.[1]

 What is philosophy?

Philosophy is the love of wisdom. It is the questions we humans try to answer, those we know the answer for and those which are still mysteries. It is philosophy that attempts to solve moral dilemmas, ask about the unknown and, most of all, answer the unanswerable.

"Lord Adam, I have come not only to help you strategize but also brought you a letter from Pyro. Do you want me to read it or would you rather read it yourself?"

"Would you mind if I read it?"

"Not at all. Here, the envelope is still sealed."

 "Thanks"

The contents of the letter were as follows:

 "Hello Adam,

Though I would love to help you in your war against Yumud, I would not be of any use against her. As you know, my power is weak to water. Truthfully, i don't even know how you have even been able to put up a fight in this war against her.

All I can say is that while she might seem mild mannered, nice and calm, Yumud is one of the most dangerous individuals even among constant concepts.

She gets more powerful when her anger flares, but keep in mind she is not a mindless brute.

Wish you the best of luck,

Pyro."

After reading these words, Adam muttered to himself

"I see, so that's how her power goes into a higher state."

"So, did you get any new information we can use, lord Adam?"

"Ah, its you, Soc Tzu. I did get new information, but am uncertain as to what to do with it."

 "Indeed, seems like troublesome information."

Said Soc Tzu as he read the letter for himself.

"Have we gotten an answer from Kyle?"

"Nope, we got nothing. Now, would you two go and talk to the rest of the crew?"

"Is that you, Tsara? Haven't seen you in a minute."

"It's me all right. Glad to see you two, Soc."

Everyone gathered on the helm of the ship.

"Everyone, we got information from pyro about our adversary."

 "Is it good?"

"As much as I would like to say yes, the information made our situation more troublesome. Yumud has her power increased when she gets mad, which means we have to beat her before then."

"Isn't that a good thing, we got a good opportunity to beat her with our first attack?"

"Unfortunately, no matter how much damage that first hit does, I don't believe we have the offensive capabilities to defeat her in a single attack. This means we will get no benefits from that first hit, Did you get it Greed?"

"So that is how it is..."

"I personally believe we should stick to the original plan of getting a good hit in before she attacks, That task is gonna be Tsara's. We will see how the rest works out on the battlefield tomorrow, so go get some rest."

And so, everyone went to bed awaiting the day of battle.
