Sunny's POV
Sunny woke up screaming.
His bedroom was empty and safe, but terror still pounded through his heart like a drum. The dream had felt so real - more real than any nightmare he'd ever experienced.
Luna! he called desperately through their bond. Did you have the dream too?
The one where we watched our families die? Luna's mental voice was shaking. Where the Shadow King turned both our realms into graveyards?
That wasn't just a dream, was it? Sunny asked, though he already knew the answer.
No, Luna replied. He was inside our minds. Showing us what he plans to do.
Sunny rolled out of bed and rushed to his window. Dawn was breaking over the Day Realm, painting everything in gentle golden light. His people were waking up, going about their normal morning routines, completely unaware that a monster was planning to destroy them all.
