Luna crawled closer to Morwen and placed her ears on his chest in order to listen to his heartbeat. To her dismay, Morwen's heart was still beating even though he had already passed out from the pain of his wounds. She contemplated lying to Lucian and letting Morwen die, and then looked at the wall that had been smashed open by Gale. It meant that Morwen's tracking magic wasn't broken; it was working after all. "He's alive." Luna finally admitted and began to heal Morwen, not for his sake or Lucian's sake, but simply because she wanted to leave the dungeon, and if finding and defeating the dungeon boss could make that happen, then she would heal the treacherous bastard.
Lucian threw the heavy stones he was holding onto away. He considered carrying Morwen's body after it had been healed so that he could run away with Luna but stopped his thoughts because even though Gale and his teammates have taken over his fight with Thorin, they still had their eyes on him. If he made the mistake of betraying the truce he made with Gale by not fighting along with him, then the table is going to turn against him; he's going to lose if Gale chooses to team up with Thorin instead of him.
"How is it possible that we both have the same ability?" Thorin questioned as he dodged the heavy stones Gale had pulled out from the ground with his magic and thrown at him.
Gale smirked and increased the pace of his attack, glad to see that Thorin wasn't as fast as him, which meant that his level-up ability was higher than Thorin's.
"Need a hand." Lucian activated his lightning magic and directed it at Thorin.
"Surprised that you are still here." Gale controlled the earth and shaped it into multiple little sharp spears. Moving his hand forward, he directed his attack at Thorin, who defended himself with his swords; if not for his body armor, he would have been badly wounded already.
"Did you think that I would run away?" Lucian asked innocently even though he had thought of it.
"Yes." Gale admitted bluntly.
"I don't get it." Thorin breathed out in exhaustion. Defending himself against Gale and Lucian was easy but exhausting. He needed an opening to strike both at once.
"What don't you understand?" Gale asked, preparing another attack against him, "You think that because the system chose you to be the hero, you are special, and no one else can use the same ability you have?" He snickers, "Such disgusting arrogance will be exactly why I will be able to kill you and double up the strength of my ability. Being chosen doesn't make you special; you are no different from the rest of us, Mr. Hero." Gale's voice was full of rage.
Thorin was surprised because Gale was right; he was aware that there were a lot of players with similar ability even in his team, but he had thought that no one had his ability. Being the hero made him feel special, something he had never felt as Lucian's best friend back in his world. Gale's words made him angry; he swallowed his raging feelings and said what he truly wanted to say. "Lucian is the one you are supposed to be targeting, not me. He's the villain, not me. Join my team. If you join me and kill Lucian together with me, I will make sure that you survive after his death, and if you think about it, it's no different from being the hero."
Gale pretended to think over Thorin's words with a hand on his chin and then flatly said, "No." He pulled out his sword and attacked Thorin. Being one of Thorin lackeys wasn't the same thing as being the hero.

Orion let out a deep laugh as he watched the players on the screen. "Humans are the most ridiculous creatures I have ever seen."
"Don't forget that we all started out as humans." Zyros cut in.
Orion glared at him. Yes, they had started out as normal humans in their world, but there was nothing human about them anymore. Besides, although they were human, each of them had a special talent they were born with that made them different and more talented than others.
"The powers Lucian copies." Dustan said. His face rested on his hand that was supported by his crossed legs as he kept his eyes on Lucian. "It should have stopped working, and yet he's still able to use it?"
Zyros had been pondering on the same question for days, and it seems as though there was no denying it. Lucian was a human, but somehow his ability could last longer than his, and Zyros couldn't even get his cheat skill to be on for that long; it was beyond his limit.
"Imagine how much stronger you would be once that boy dies and your powers return to you." Zinnia's lip was set in a frown because Lucian was taking so long to die; she didn't want him to be the villain, and she didn't want him with any of her powers, but since he stole them, her powers still haven't returned.
Dustan chuckled, "He's not dying anytime soon though. I have a feeling that he's going to make it out of the dungeon alive."
Zinnia scowls at the screen.
Zyros shakes his head; he didn't want to be like the others and be obsessed with power like he was in the past. He wants Lucian to live even if that means that a part of his ability never came back.
"Let the kid escape the dungeon since he's so smart." Zinnia smiled evilly. "At first they always think that things will be easy for them outside the dungeon, forgetting that they are still in Hlasked. There is no freedom in Hlasked unless we willed it."
'foolish humans.' Zinnia thought. 'I can't wait to see them suffer more when they finally get out of the dungeon and see what's waiting for them outside. At the end they will search for a dungeon they can hide in to protect their miserable short life and find none.'
