Chapter 19 - Trashed your captain

In the blink of an eye, in an attempt to save his life and stop Gale from piercing him to death with his sword, Thorin made the wrong move, a terrible mistake that cost him his right arm.

"Ahhhh!" Thorin screams out in pain as he watches his right arm fall down along with his sword. A disbelief expression mixed with fear filled his face. "My arm!" The blood pouring out of his arm was nonstop, and if something isn't done about it, there is a high chance of him dying from bloodlust.

Gale coldly wiped out the blood that splashed on his face; some got into his hair. The thought of washing it out later was irritating; finding water in the dungeon was a hard task. He watches Thorin's pitiful state as tears pour from his eyes, and then he laughs. A grown man was crying, only confirming Gale's thought about Thorin; the system made a mistake by choosing him to be the hero. The hero is someone who's meant to be stronger than the villain, and Thorin wasn't that person.

"Captain!" The healer in Thorin's team screams out and then begs his other teammate for assistance before rushing to Thorin's side to heal him.

"What kind of a captain are you?" Gale asked as he walked closer to Thorin, "Is this how you put your men in danger just so that you can save your sad life?"

Thorin crawls on the ground away from Gale with the help of his healer, a feeble attempt to escape. With how dangerous his situation is, the right choice was to send his healer away. Gale wants nothing from the others, so he would likely leave his teammates alone as long as he surrenders, but even with that knowledge, Thorin still couldn't bring himself to surrender and send his healer away. And although the healer knew how dangerous it was to face Gale, he was willing to try so that Thorin would not die. The healer felt like everything would be truly over if Thorin died—the battle for him, his teammates, and their desire to escape and return home.

With a clean and cruel strike, Gale separated the healer's head from his body, letting the blood from the cut spray all over Thorin, which in turn made him scream in fright.

"You must be crazy if you think that I will allow your healer to restore your arm."

'I need to get out of here.' Thorin thought.

'I need to get out of here.' Lucian thought simultaneously as he watched Gale.

'I can't win this. He's going to kill me; I don't want to die.' Thorin's arm wasn't restored, but it had stopped bleeding thanks to his dead healer. He was still in pain, but he had enough strength to crawl quickly with one arm before jumping to his feet and running away, leaving his teammates behind.

'There is no way I can win against him if I don't use other abilities.' Lucian thought in anger at the same time Thorin decided to run away. Just when he thought that he was stronger after Zarek's death, he came up against another opponent who made him feel weak for not having a proper system, and Lucian wasn't sure about the possibility of him being able to gain another new ability if he kills someone again; after all, Zyros has told him that 3 abilities was the limit. He was lucky to even be able to use this much ability.

"Dirty coward running with his tail between his legs. You can't run away from me, you bastard." Gale said. He didn't want to chase after Thorin without his team, so he gathered his teammates and left Lucian and Luna to struggle alone with Thorin's teammates, promising to come back and help Lucian when he's done with Thorin.

"Please don't tell me that we are going to wait for that guy to come back." Luna retreated her step backwards from those who were fighting against her.

"Of course not. Do you think I'm stupid?" Lucian asked as he dodged a fireball that was thrown at him. He moved Luna out of the way as well because she was behind him.

Luna did think that Lucian was stupid but kept her opinion to herself since he saved her life. Lately, after Lucian became the villain, she had been wondering where the smart side of him had disappeared to; perhaps the broken system killed it?

"Are we going to kill them?" Luna dodges a sword and punches her opponent hard in the face.

Lucian wanted to say yes but knew that Luna wasn't comfortable with killing others, unlike him, who didn't care. "Everybody stop!" He shouted. 'The only reason that damned guy took his teammates along with him was so that Thorin's teammates would keep me busy until he returned. He doesn't need a whole army to kill Thorin in that state.'

Luna and others stop, startled and confused by Lucian's voice.

"Aren't you guys supposed to be with your captain?" Lucian asks, irritated. "Thorin isn't here anymore; we have no reason to fight."

Someone from Thorin's team was about to speak up, but Lucian stopped him with an hand.

"I know that I'm the villain and that you all have the responsibility to kill me, but let's be honest, I'm stronger than everyone present here." Lucian couldn't help the smug look that appeared on his face regardless of the hostile eyes that were on him.

'definitely stupid.' Luna thought. 'What a nice way to convince them to stop fighting.'

"Okay, let's say that you did kill me and take over my powers and title as the villain, that guy..." Lucian pointed towards the direction Gale had run off to in pursuit of Thorin. "who is about to kill your captain is going to come after you. I may be strong, but after watching the way he trashed your captain, I'm not confident that I can face him. I think it's best we end this fight for now, until another time."
