Chapter 6 - chapter 6: first Contact 2

He had a moustache like Kregg, but his clothes were a deep red, and he looked to have a cape with a furred collar.

"Greetings Cecil Stedman Director of the GDA, I am Emperor Thragg. I hope this day finds you well"

Hearing the title, Emperor Cecil was quick to stand up straight and fix up his suit and tie.

"A pleasure to meet you, Emperor Thragg. This may seem rude, but do your people truly come in peace?"

"Indeed, although we call ourselves an Empire, we do not have the numbers to conquer, our home planet has become unlivable, and most of my people have perished. The ships you see are empty, manned by a single pilot with no crew, we brought them in hopes of bartering them to your people"

Thragg explained and Cecil found himself frowning deeper, had his mind been more optimistic, he would be happy at the fact that an alien race came to barter spaceships with them however as a cynical and more practical man, his mind immediately came to a worrying conclusion.

If this alien race came with ships to barter that meant, they somehow knew that earth did not yet possess the technology for space travel which means they have been monitoring earth for a long period of time or at the very least they came to knowing it was not technologically advanced enough to have space fairing capabilities and thus they could take advantage.

"I see, forgive me, but what makes it so obvious that we are in need of space ships, we could very well have our own"

"Excuse my rudeness. However, before sending this transmission, we did monitor your planet for 21 rotations and came to understand the level of technology you are capable of. While you do have space ships and a space station, it is rudimentary and primitive, a far cry from what most of the galaxy is accustomed to."

To the ears of a lesser man that would have been an insult, however Cecil kept his face stoic and calm, what this Emperor Thragg spoke was the truth.

The real issue was the fact that for weeks, an alien race has been spying on them, and they had no idea. If that's true, then any alien race could have monitored Earth for as long as they like and learned about the planet without ever having set foot in it. That alone was terrifying.

"I see, then what is it that you want from us? It's clear you have the superior position, so why bother talking to us at all"

"As I explained, my people are nearing extinction and our home is unlivable, the very air has become poison to us, so we set out to look for a world that could not only be livable but also one with a species of alien that could help us repopulate"

"That does explain why you look exactly like a human"

That explained some things to Cecil. He had been wondering how aliens could look so human. So if they look like humans, then they also must have determined that they could mate with humans as well.

"So let me get this straight, you are willing to give us space fairing technology and weapons, and in return, you wish to be given humans to mate with?"

"Almost but not quite, there's no need to give us humans to mate with, we just want to have a piece of uninhibited land that we can settle in and be allowed to be able to interact with the humans so that we can be able to find mates ourselves. I'm sure none of your people would like the idea of being forced to mate with aliens"

Thragg explained and Cecil couldn't help but heaved a sigh of relief, it seemed that these aliens were more reasonable than he assumed, however his instincts told him there was something wrong but he couldn't tell what it was.

"I think I get the gist of it all, if you are willing to wait for a few days… err rotations as you call them I can have an answer for you, as much as I would to make a decision on this, I still have talk to the relevant people about this, so I hope you don't mind"

"We don't mind. We will patiently wait."

"Thank you, send the transmission again once in a couple of days"

Said Cecil before he cut off the transmission, and the monitor returned to the feed of the spaceships looming over earth.

"You were right, Donald, that did take my breath away"

He said jokingly and let out a deep exhale.

"Did you have the conversation recorded?"

"Yes sir"

"Good, now let's go have a meeting the relevant people I mentioned"

...…

[Viltrumite Mothership]

Thragg leaned back on his chair and let out a sigh. As Emperor, he knew more negotiations and discussions would take place before he was able to settle his people on earth.

One could ask, "What's the point of coming to earth?" It's not like Viltrumites can't survive on any other planet in the solar system. Mars, Mercury, and even Venus would be good enough as planets

With Mercury being so close to the sun, it could help the Viltrumites to adapt to the sun's heat and eventually become able to withstand being plunged into its atmosphere. Even Venus, with its hostile atmosphere, is livable to Viltrumites. Building a floating city wouldn't be a stretch.

However the issue came with the Viltrumites themselves, as stated Thragg did not want to use the same social norms in order to destroy Viltrumite culture, all that would do was just reinforce the idea that might makes right making it difficult to shed the conquering nature of Viltrumites.

Earth was necessary because he wanted the Viltrumites to mingle with a species that looks like them; what he's going for might not work if the alien species looks too different.

After all Nolan was not the only Viltrumite that was sent to take over another planet by himself yet for some reason he's the only one who had a son and managed to rebel against the empire so clearly there's something about humans that makes Viltrumites mellow out.

It's also worth noting as a former human,

James now Thragg was still attached to his humanity and didn't want to just abandon it just because he's a different race now. In fact, some would argue that being human was more than just about race.

"Your Grace, if I may ask a question?"

Kregg turned from his chair to face Thragg, who was seated on the captain's chair at the centre of the Bridge.

"You may"

"I understand our goal is population growth and no longer conquest for the time being. However, is it truly necessary for us to live amongst these Earthlings?"

"Yes, while we can set up a colony in one of the moons in this star system, I believe its necessary for us to live amongst humans if we truly wish to grow our population, you've seen the scans we did on their biology, not only are they compatible but they are fertile, if we want explosive growth its necessary to live among them"

Thragg explained, and from the looks of it, Kregg seemed to be convinced of that explanation.

"However, even though I say that, we should still set up some colonies on one of the moons here. I'll have you assign the appropriate people for that."

"Understood Sire"

Kregg agreed without hesitation. Thragg figured it was a little unwise to put everything on Earth and that it was better to have a secondary planet that they could call home in the event the humans don't accept their offer.

Although he planned to have a few Viltrumites infiltrate the Earth, if the Humans refuse them, setting foot on the planet. As long as at least one human was will to fuck a Viltrumite then its a win.

"Good, if the negotiations with the Earthlings goes well, we'll need to establish new rules on how to behave around the humans, Anissa, you'll help me draft the new rules and regulations of how to live amongst humans, so please meet me in the briefing room, two hours from now"

"Yes, sire"

With that said, Thragg floated off his chair and made his way out the bridge, but not before announcing he'll be exiting the ship for a while
